Nice!..Wish I had that video when I was new to game😅...spend like an hour on that rescue....You should do a compilation of such routes for all such truck rescues, It would not only help new players but existing players would also watch it for curiosity.
I'm currently in Glades and using it. I delivered 3 c. slabs to harvest Corps airfield und it just powered in high through the "roads". Love it BTW, what are these yellow stripped rings on the map, I have over 54% game progress, but I can't find these in settings, is it hardmode related?
I'm using that route from now on. Last time I used a Kodiak with a van body using the dirt path. It was challenging but its short wheel base made it easier than what I would normally use.
You always have enough power, Nathan! It's important to do this maps first to understand how the game works. I learned it here at this channel and I always have to say thank you thank you thank you! Since this time I enjoy the Joy Of Snowrunner! Stay safe and take care!
Nathan, you make it look easy. I used to take the Eastern route across the river because I don't want to deal with the narrow bend on the incline. But this is clearly better, gj!
Appreciate the video, Nathan. My wife and I are on Wisconsin, but I just started my second solo play through and got into Smithville Dam today. I will use that route tomorrow.
it was tough mission for me when i started because i used barely upgraded paystar and engine of that truck is not really powerful. but then i just returned with civilian (nmc?) and just power pulled it out of that swamp and dragged up the hill. that truck is hella powerful and i had no problem pulling whire western star with it
While pulling a service trailer no less. Wish I saw this before using the P16 to pull it up the mountain on the right or the road on my hard mode playthrough.
I just got the game and all DLC a month ago. Started with the Tayga and Z612, because I had them available. After finishing Michigan I was bored because everything was so easy. Now I'm on a hard mode playthrough and limiting myself mainly to found, region specific trucks or buying preferably nothing higher than B Tier. Will the WWS ever be obsolete or not up to a task in later maps? It flew through Alaska and didn't feel like a B tier truck.
Glad you started a hardmode to play the game differently. So the WWS actually stays relevant throughout the game. There will be a few maps it will struggle as do ALOT of trucks so it’s really not discouraging. Well B tier for me is actually really strong tbh. It’s a B because trucks like the Taygas are just in leagues of their own as are some others. Off-road and heavy duty are the most alike but off-road trucks are in general just outfitted for deeper rougher terrain
@@NProvince The struggles are what make this game fun to me. I wished hardmode stayed hard for a bit longer though. The money was the hard bit, but that seems to solve itself after the original game. I'm tempted to start the next map with only a region appropriate low tier scout. Is that feasible or will I run myself into ground?
I'm completely new to this game and have been trying to work out how to do this mission. I don't have all-terrain tyres for my fleetstar yet, so i've been putting it off until then. In the meantime though, are you towing the service trailer too for a reason? Or just style points?
Question: Apart from being personal preference, is there any reason to use gallons/miles over liters/kilometers? Does it help with fuel consumption, or anything like that?
Ya it does help, but remember its on highwat tires and it has no AWD in its current state. Even when fully repaired; pulling it through that trail is pretty rough and can get you flipped over trying to pull it throught the S turn and rocks
I believe Easy is relative to the truck used on that pull. Even repaired the WWS is on highway tires with no upgrades to help too much. Winching through the rocks has tipped over a lot of folks pending truck use
I hear you. However, something else I found successful was loading the truck onto the back of a tow bed and taking it up that way. This mission used to be a beast, but all of the enhancements and DLC have given players several different options, like yours

Thanks you :) I wish I coulda done this much earlier. Ya that would be a pretty good idea actually
A personal favourite truck.
Not amazing for heavy hauls or deep conditions but a solid all rounder for medium to light loads with great utility
And one of the more stable american trucks as well, won't try to tip over every 50 meters even with van body or heavy crane
Awesome sound too.
I recently pulled the WWS out in Austria and it was like meeting an old friend again after a long break. Such a good truck.

Wonder if the kodiak With the ramp would go up that Hill He used.
That's still my favorite truck in the game. It's just a dependable truck that gets the job done.
white western star? totally agree. work horse truck
That was beautiful, wish i would have known that route my first playthrough.
I wish i would posted a video like this soo much earlier for ya
How’s it goin Mr Marston?
@@Bull3tBikes it's jim Milton lol.

Hey thank you so much for that :)
That's a more aggresive approach than I imagined doing. I used the GMC MH9500 (no awd yet) and towed it up the long way. Neaaaat
I think you'd do this route rather well. Its really straight forward :)
RWD with diff lock and big tires is an underrated setup imo.
I agree. Most folks wouldn’t try that
Nathan, you make it look easy. I used to take the Eastern route across the river because I don't want to deal with the narrow bend on the incline. But this is clearly better, gj!
Hey thanks! The other routes can be viable to avoid the bend. Glad I could show a different route :)
Appreciate the video, Nathan. My wife and I are on Wisconsin, but I just started my second solo play through and got into Smithville Dam today. I will use that route tomorrow.
Wow that’s awesome Wisconsin coop! Hope this route works out for you as well :)
Bravo! That was beatiful!
Thank you!
I always used the road, it was always tough with the starter vehicles but its maybe the most memorable mission due to the challenge.
It is truly one of the most memorable challenging missions due to the nature of that trail, trucks on hand, the reward for sure
Haha I just helped my buddy to this tonight, took the same route, fleetstar rocks! Nice one man 👍🏼
Nice man!!

Yea the mission is easier with more powerful trucks.
That's a great way to get up the hill, i hate that road so much
Thank you!
While pulling a service trailer no less. Wish I saw this before using the P16 to pull it up the mountain on the right or the road on my hard mode playthrough.
That mountain is a good way as well that works too :)
If only I knew this route 3 years ago. Nowadays I have no problem with towing it through the gap tbh
Ya 3 years late on this one, but I thought id show this route :)
@@NProvince definitely. When I redo Michigan or help a friend I will try it
The ease of that compared to when i did it in Hard mode (emotional damage!)
Ya it can be easy and it can be pretty tough for sure

You can do this with highway tires as well. The trailer was just to prove it can be done tbh.

No it has no advantages, just personal preference
@@NProvince aight thanks
I don't play hardmode, so maybe this doesn't apply. But wouldn't it be helpful if you turn ON the WWS engine, when you go the "usual" way?
Ya it does help, but remember its on highwat tires and it has no AWD in its current state. Even when fully repaired; pulling it through that trail is pretty rough and can get you flipped over trying to pull it throught the S turn and rocks
First, repair the truck. Easy pull through the rocks
