- Today on Animator Talk, we discuss Making PETER PAN - How Walt Saved a Film from Going Dark. We will delve into the history of the creative process in making this animated piece, and some of the troubles on the way. To me, Animation isn't a kid's medium, though we commonly use it for children's programming. The stigma has been lessened over the years, but we still have a way to go. So, come join me in appreciating animation for the wonder that it is.

Thank you so much for watching!
I saw Peter Pan many times. I love it.
Peter Pan is sure to be a classic
It's my favorite Disney movie! Thank you for teaching me more about it. Keep it up!
I thank YOU for watching and supporting. Please spread the word. I have so much content coming down the pipeline. Just as long as people watch and like it.
A wonderful story and great cartoon. Love listening to your stories
Thank you, Michael. That means a lot 🙂
I enjoyed this film a lot when I was younger. It was very fun and I really liked the animation
This film is as magical to me today as it was back then. LOVE it!
great review and retrospective
Thank you so much
I loved this video
This movie is going to get a live action remake next year on Disney+.
I’ve been waiting for a live action Peter Pan worth watching for decades. Disney’s been talking about doing this one for many years. I look forward to seeing it when it’s done
@@AnimatorTalk Same.
Are you gonna cover films such as Batman mask of the phantasom or just the Disney animation?
I’ll be tackling everything worth covering. That is, if there’s enough interest.
Will you be covering modern animation? Or just the classic motion pictures?
Oh, I am covering EVERYTHING I can think of. We are time traveling to 1988 on the next episode. Care to guess what film? Check it out next Friday. 😜
Are you gonna talk about cartoons as well or just animated motion pictures
Wait until you see what I filmed today. It’s television

Peter Pan was a success when it was released back in 1953, right?
I’m afraid Peter Pan was not a huge success when it was originally released. Disney would learn that re-releases would be a popular strategy to gain popularity for its films.
Guess what Animator Talk? I looked up ⬆️ online and Peter Pan was a box office success upon its release, ok 👍?
And then the "Rescue Rangers" movie took a dump on this movie, and turned one of the most beloved Disney characters into an evil middle-age drug lord that created bootleg films & tastelessly used his actor's tragic backstory for his reason of turning into a villain (enough it doesn't make sense of how it connects to all of the crimes he committed).🤦🏼♀️
I'm sick of people thinking/portraying Peter Pan as a villain and/or killer.
Captain Hook wasn't a saint himself either, and the whole schmuck about "killing those who grew up to a certain age" sounds out of place for a land where one is to NOT age & sounds more like a Creepypasta & Stephen King's "Children of the Corn."
Thank you so much Keshia. I refuse to even watch that movie. I knew it was going down a different path, but I didn't know it was THAT bad. How ugly of Disney to exploit Bobby's troubles this way.
