Das ist sehr schön geworden. Also mir gefällt das Ergebnis sehr gut und so schaut die Lok gleich viel realsitischer aus und hat ihre Plastikoptik verlohren. Klasse. Danke für das Tutorial. LG Tino
Hello Martin, I´am very happy to see you again also using artist oil paints for your weatherings! For me it`s a common way to use them time by time for my own Z-scale weatherings. I have also already achieved beautiful effects with water soluble colored pencils in terms of sealing them with matt varnish! For example you can use this pencil-method to create traces of dirt with a damp cotton swab or brush! "Again another educational video" Thanks!!!! Kindly regards from german Z-scale model builder Olli, alias "DER Z-CRACK" Modelrailroadvideos in scale Z (1/220)
Awesome video! Please keep up the amazing work, even though I currently don't have a layout I still watch all the vids and my next one will be so mu h better 😁
You make it look *so* easy. I'd be afraid to ruin an expensive loco. Having said that; if you *do* make a mess of it, the weathering should clean off quite easily. The difference is amazing; much more realistic with some fairly simple techniques.👌👍
Very good job! But what about the roof? Especially under and behind of the working pantografer. First weathering of e-loks is beginning under pantografers, then all graphite and metal dust of sky's and contact wire is falling there with the rain, snow and dirty stains appear on the roof under and little behind of the pantograph.
On the in video links, if you cannot see them 1:20 then it isn’t necessarily that you have disabled them but also UA-cam on the device your viewing in explicitly does not show them. For example, UA-cam on AppleTv does NOT show this in-video links. Ever. They only show the end card links for other videos. This probably is because the user interface to AppleTv or similar viewers is a basic remote control and not a cursor and they don’t have a simple way of letting you select those links without disrupting the playback.
They do have some, they have no sound, but they are digital and you can find them for 80-140 euro. If you are starting out though, I recommend you spend a little bit more and buy a starterset. Take in mind that Märklin is very exclusive and there are few locomotives compatible with it,due to it being AC (3 rail), while other brands normally make DC (2 rail) locomotives. If you want to run other brand locomotives easier in your layout, get Trix, it's the same as Märklin, but uses 2 rail DC system. They have less variety in starter-sets though. You could also check out PIKO if your budget is not very high, but take in mind that they are 2 rail DC mostly
So here's a question I have yet to see anyone address: How do you dust everything? My stuff seems to collect dust so quickly and I worry about damaging it when cleaning.
Love yr techniques, Martin. Simple but great visual effects without overdoing it.
Regards, Jimmy
These are great effects! It looks like the full scale engine. Thanks for sharing this.
Thank you again for a very enjoyable video and passing on your knowledge and experience to others.
That model is really detailed. The weathering really enhanced the look. Good job! -South Central Pennsylvania

Buen tutorial, como siempre. Ya te echábamos de menos :D
Many thanks for that brilliant video. Did you try to work with the oil brushers from MIG ?
Nice work. I note that you do not cover or mask off any of the electrical pickups beneath the loco when you airbrush the lower parts?
Interesting steam train from Australia if you wanna google it is 3081 steam train
beautifully dirty

Hi there. What airbrush do you use and do you recommend it?

Do märklin have any budget trains?
