Sir I am from West Bengal. As you know we have the prestigious Indian Psychoanalytic Society here. They run a 2 year PG Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling which is very unique. They also have a 5 year course to become a Psychoanalyst. If you could do one video on these it will be helpful.

1. Does IGNOU's PGD in counseling and family therapy holds equal value or weightage with PGD in guidance and counseling from other institutes? If these PG diplomas can be used interchangeably while applying for a govt/pvt job?
2. In one of the comments, a video is requested for PGD in clinical psychology, can I know the status?
3. Does PGDGC is mandatory for working as a psychologist in hospital setting treating patients.?
4.How much difference does it make when PGDGC is completed from A RCI approved institute and otherwise?
5. I am from Bareilly, what could be the best option for me to do PGDGC as no institute here offers this ?
1. No ignou is not much helpful if you are formally applying at schools or centers. Go for PGDGC.
2. Idk about this but they have uploaded one video on 1 year RCI clinical psychology diploma. It's on their insta.
3. No, for treatment of patients you need RCI degree, mostly mphil clinical.
4. private shools prefer RCI alot more over other diplomas.
5. Maybe AMU or Jamia distance, or NCERT.

Hi. So I have completed my graduation in B.Sc.B.Ed and now I want to pursue counseling. So after graduation if I do PG diploma in counseling psychology or guidance and counseling will it help me to step into counseling world? Because as a non psychology student I am worried what if I couldn't manage masters in psychology properly.

If you wish to pursue a career in Counseling and Guidance then I would like to make the following recommendations:
1. You can have a bachelors from any subject
2. Pursue a Masters in Psychology or (spcl. In Counseling or Clinical Psy) course either Distance or Regular. If you have time and space then consider going for a good regular program.
3. During your Masters you can choose to do a Distance Diploma course in Guidance and Counseling or you can pursue a course from NCERT. I feel NCERT would be a good choice for you. If not then there are many Diploma programs in India.
Things I would not recommend:
1. Pursuing a Diploma right after Bachelors. This will limit your opportunities more.
2. Skipping Masters. If you wish to skip masters then it will disconnect you with the theoretical aspects and necessary grounding needed to pursue a career in Psychology.

To be honest, jyadatar bacche Distance Course degree ke liye karte hai and Regular Diploma courses behtar skill development karta hai in comparison to Distance courses.
Theoretical understanding acchi ban jaati hai Distance program me and agar student sincere hai then skill development bhi acha ho sakta hai. Student ko jyada focused hona hoga ki Distance Program ke dauran me kuch practical experience bhi leliya jaaye either in form of Internship or Shadowing opportunities
