Just tried it with my own server running in a VM through Proxmox and it worked like a charm (Linux Mint 22). Saves me from the terror of port forwarding with my ISP.
Very user friendly and easy way to set things up. A couple days ago I set up my own server and had to go through the hoops of finding a ddns provider and configuring it on my router. It'S funny that after setting everything up and getting it to work with a lot of effort,I find this video. Oh well, atleast I have knowlege now :D
I've been using playit for a while now to host a server for my friends (around 10-12 players) and its pretty good, but you do need a stable internet for the server to be stable
@@abbabadaba you need to run the server on your running pc as well so i don't see how that's dumb? that's how servers work and why they cost money, otherwise just buy a laptop and throw it in the closet, no electricity bills nothing. it ain't magic.
I have a problem. I did every step like I was instructed to do and I don't know how to make it work. When I try to join my server I can't cause there's error ,,Invalid session (Try restarting your game and the launcher)''. I don't have a premium Minecraft account is that the reason? If I change in server properties online mode to false I can join and my mod Simple voice chat works. Am I too stupid to understand or is there a way to fix this so me and my friend (we're on different networks, different houses) can play on my server? Without actually port forwarding? I think I'm just stupid but I want to ask anyway.
Sorry if this is too late but you are right about the reason why you are getting the error. I’m not sure if Microsoft has patched this but I remember years ago there were plugins that allowed non-premium players to join servers. I would recommend looking into that if you’re still trying.

When I load in it says getsockopt
does it work with mods?
Does it work with t launcher
yes it works but i got like 300ms ping

i cant use it in my country which is really sad if you have something other than that it would be awesome
Idk if my comment got blocked because I posted url or something but look up Essential mod. You can invite friends to your singleplayer world.
