  • In this video, I'll walk you through how I fixed my fitted top pattern and combined it with my gored skirt pattern to knit a dress that I'm working on to wear to a wedding at the end of the summer.

Am I the only one who is subscribed/watches these videos but who doesn't knit and has no desire to knit but simply finds them very calming and enjoyable? I love seeing how things go from a skein of yarn to something, it feels very magical to me 😊

When using different colored yarn, always run a swatch in both colors. It is not that they are necessarily processed differently, but the dye used can change the gauge and the feel of the product. If you take a strand of black worsted weight and compare it to a strand of another color, you can often times see a visible difference in the thickness even though minute, (same thing holds true for fabrics and the amount of bias they will end up with) so this could have caused the issue with your top..

I watch lots of machine knitting tutorials, and I find them very frustrating at certain points that it gets confusing and I give up. Because you go step by step through all the process in such a clear way, I actually was able to do a few hats from what you showed us. A friend of mine who deals with breast cancer has benefited from your videos and got a few nice hats from me. Thank you.😊

That dress looks lovely! I'm tempted to make one myself - might plug in my numbers and get a pattern printed out to hopefully use.
Wait, never mind, need gauge to do this.
    Hmmmm....
This sort of patterning is the stuff that makes me consider learning how to code.
My husband would be delighted 😂😂

I wish I could code, so that I can do what you do with all the patterns I own that require a lot of calculation 😅

Amazing work! I've been anticipating the final dress video and it turned out so well. That orange looks just stunning on you and the whole shape of the dress is very nice. Even with the dropped waist it looks quite good. Although I know that wasn't in your plan.
