That intro was 10/10. Love that with a board this narrow you're making use of the arête which no one does. What a good use of a small space.

    Hi Mani!
You should check out the Boulder Challenge app to easily document all your boulders on your wall. You can specify everything, from allowed hand holds to foot holds (left and/or right) and also sequences.
    Cheers
    Chris

Dude, I loved that intro! 😂 Can’t wait to see more sessions on that bad boy!
I recently built a home wall in my attic on the 60 degree pitch of my room. Those crimps and pinches on that overhang are hard as nails!

really nice wall, I didn't expect it to look so cool even though you can span it!
Some ideas : you could add a few jibs here and there to make defined holds on the side, also eventually some thumb-catch footholds to pinch the arete.

Awesome vid as always! In terms of the wall name, being as you can see yourself in the black background, how about "The Black Mirror" ... n I've just started learning French, so this would translate into Le Miroir Noir, which also has quite a nice ring to it (at least in my opinion =P)

What is it about the holds that makes them mimic outdoor bouldering so well, and that you have to hold then so actively? I would like to mimic that with my Hangboard holds...

Could you talk about ideal hold selection when building a spray wall/woody? These holds will obviously work for you but for those of us who don’t climb 5.13 it would probably be too hard. Should you aim to be able to hold on static with any hold on the board, or do you want to have some that are super bad? Trying to dial in and I often find I end up with holds that are either too positive or so bad that I can’t use them.

Hi Mani, looking good man. What are the dimensions of your wall? I was thinking of doing a similar construction in my garage, but my roof is much lower, so the slope will also be either very hard, or just a short wall...

Kann man den Winkel der Wand vergrößern indem man etwas unterstellt? Wäre interessant zu sehen wie sich die Schwierigkeiten bei zunehmender Neigung verhalten. Vorschlag: "Microcircus"

Very cool training wall Mani, I'm currently now walking around my house looking for a space to make something similiar.
Question: In terms of progressing grades in climbing, what would you rather, a decent hang board, or a small training wall like in the video?

    • @ManitheMonkey
      @ManitheMonkey  3 роки тому +1

I'd rather go for the wall. It's much more fun, and more climbing-like.

    • @DanielDavies-StellularNebulla

@@ManitheMonkey My thoughts exactly + a big advantage of a climbing wall is the variability of the holds spots which allows easy changes in difficulty for smooth progression.
