Stop "flipping the bird" when pointing things out. The index finger was specifically designed for pointing. The F-you finger was specifically designed to express powerful words without having to actually speak.
NOTE to everyone on here. My name is Dan from this video. Just to make things clear we are not “the guys who built” the car. The car was built by RallyRaidUK. Unfortunately the part of me talking about that has not been put in this video.
I agree. Mechanically there will need to be alot sorted to future proof and fix what needs doing. Cosmetically i dont plan on changing its appearance except for re installing the missing trims and airbags. Other than that it will just be tidying things up such as the arches, the bonnet and the exhaust system.
The Patagonia cars were destroyed, AFAIK, which is terribly disappointing and sad. I mean, that Mustang wasn't my cup of tea, but man... The Porsche 928 is one of my personal all-time greats (I have 2 of them) and the GT was perhaps the best of them all, and I don't think there's much that needs to be said about the Esprit. It's godly awesome, save for its gearbox, perhaps.
Improvements, looks wise, James is the best of the trio. Best improvements functionality wise, Jeremy. And Richard's, well he was driving with a car that was possessed.
6:41 “it’s not a k&n. That’s a shame…” said no off roader ever. K&N lets so much debris through that anyone that truly off roads knows you don’t run that, especially in dusty conditions.
@@DanielFrost79 k&n engine air filters are for the garbage. Run a paper filter like wix for off road. On road a dry filter like aFe can be run. K&N has all that oil and still lets debris through. I use their cabin filter though.
Great to see some of these cars come back and get used for more adventures. I wish they kept all the Top Gear and Grand Tour builds they did, that would've made a great museum.
Hello! We have just launched a new DriveTribe exhibition at our Museum in Somerset. You can come along and see the Aston Martin DB9 along with other DriveTribe cars!
It's got to be awesome to be one of the builders for these shows. Simply cause, you don't have to care about it being perfect. Just functional and last long enough for the filming.
Thnx, great behind the scenes stuff and stories. You gotta love the F-type. I suggest to clean it up, make it all work and reliable, but don’t get rid of all the sand 😉
Honestly love the rally raid cars and thought the Aston was my favorite for the roof tent going full overland setup even if the Maserati looked better and F-type was the best car of the three.
The intake noise is my thing since 1997 when I first put a shorter intake with cone filter on my Nissan Altima and let the KA24-DE sing for me. I’ve been an intake over exhaust evangelist ever since! Intake noise is a million times better than exhaust noise. I keep exhaust stock quiet so I can run the loudest intake possible.
Someone needs to explain to me how the V6S that lugs around the weight of a V8 block, without the added advantage of 2 extra firing cylinders, is the sweet spot...
They were using this on the farm, Lisa pulled up to the shop in it over a year ago when my buddy was there LOL. JCs farm response squad keeps growing lol
Personally, id keep the fender flares, skid plate and the hood scoop but ditch the lights. Refine it all a bit and touch up the paint and some body touch up.
I Hope U guys restore the Aston Martin, it’s basically the same car richard revived on top gear series 6 ep. 3 way back in 2005!!! Nostalgia is so wonderful sometimes ❤️⚙️💯
I would love to see more backstory to the GT car builds. Personally, I’d keep the Jag as is and just make it driveable and able to pass inspection. I was surprised how well the Jag did on that episode.
Now just James Maserati, Jeremy's RS4 from A Scandi Flick which Richard said at the Drivetribe show u might do something with, James's Caterham from A massive hunt which I think is currently with Caterham UK. Also are the Jaaaag and Skynet now Drivetribe project cars or owned by Jezza and Hammomd?
Why would he leave it? This was one of few occasions that he had no mechanical issues and was able to go rallying with it. It proved just how reliable a modern jaguar is. I would have kept it as you feel proud of it for taking such a beating and still going strong.
The Air Bags push the bonnet upwards to help the person clear the car not to cushion the impact, most victims die from contacting their head with the windscreen or windscreen frame and also by being launched by the windscreen way into the air and smacking their head on the ground.
I would say that the production company bought a damaged F-Type looking at the pedestrian airbag its clearly just been cut and the bonnet is intact. With that many holes cut into the bonnet if that had gone off during filming the bonnet would most likely just smashed into peices.
LS, Whipple and a lift kit. It needs 300 more hp to get those wheels turning, and 4" more ground clearance to get around trails. Getting it back on tarmac is absolutely pointless.
They didn't even bother to use stainless rivnuts. Sadly 99% of garages in the UK build and modify the cars like this. Look "okayish" on collection, 6 months down the line it all wears away.
If that Jaguar had been modified in the way it has - i.e. All-Terrain tyres, lift kit, strengthen the body, move the air intake higher for better wading depth, etc. - by a proper workshop to the build quality of the original Jaguar it would be a lot of fun, but I’d loose the silly lights. Maybe a simple LED bar across the front…
"Finally Been Found!" its from the latest grand tour show. was the motor even cooled from when Jeremy parked it? cool to see it didn't disappear though
These would get soo much more views and be better to watch if they actually got clarkson and James on when ever they were getting cars they used on the grand tour
I want to ask out of pure curiosity why Jeremy chose the F-type and not the XKR, considering the general theme of the special was 2 door, 4 seater convertible GT cars?

Now we need James' Maserati. Any idea where it is

That's great
we need a top gear / grand tour museum that features all the cars they used. hope they can find the patagonia cars
There’s a top gear museum at beauliue

There a whole section at Beaulieu motor museum with the old top gear cars
There is. It's called "Richard Hammond's shed"
Your never get the patagonia cars they were destroyed few years ago
Now all that’s left is James May’s Maserati 😊
Improvements, looks wise, James is the best of the trio.
Best improvements functionality wise, Jeremy.
And Richard's, well he was driving with a car that was possessed.
I saw on Insta that JC has bought another identical F-Type in white as he liked this one so much.
6:41 “it’s not a k&n. That’s a shame…” said no off roader ever. K&N lets so much debris through that anyone that truly off roads knows you don’t run that, especially in dusty conditions.
I like calling K&N dust and water vacs
It would have been very silly to take to the desert.
Yeah, needs an oiled foam filter
So K&N is for road racing mainly?
(Sorry, no expert so i don't know much about 3rd party accessories)
@@DanielFrost79 k&n engine air filters are for the garbage. Run a paper filter like wix for off road. On road a dry filter like aFe can be run. K&N has all that oil and still lets debris through. I use their cabin filter though.
Is this rescue, or prolonged torture?
Both
Im want to go off-roading I better get a jag. Lol😢
I'm gonna say torture. This presenter is super shady and unlikeable. Give us more Hammond and his daughter rallying!
@@shefalichow7917 What? Mike is great.

There exists a museum for many of the cars from top gear called World of Top Gear.
Are the cars still there?

“…as the car is completely wiping them out.” Awesome.

I think this car was the best looking one out of the three cars, It actually looked like a proper offroader
Jags dont go to heaven, they take you there
Brilliant again! Well done Haynes what an achievement 👏 🏏
Someone needs to explain to me how the V6S that lugs around the weight of a V8 block, without the added advantage of 2 extra firing cylinders, is the sweet spot...
Easy, no manual transmission in any V8 F-Type. Granted they are rare, but they are out there.
Another drivetribe car never to be finished
They were using this on the farm, Lisa pulled up to the shop in it over a year ago when my buddy was there LOL. JCs farm response squad keeps growing lol
No warnings on the dash, you say? A shot a minute earlier showed a clear airbag light on, probably from the bonnet air bag!
Ok but want I really want to buy is THE EXCELLENT
Ask Jeremy he kept it
Or build your own
The MFB, EXCELLENT, Lincoln, and Alfa are all still owned by Jezza!
Easy, buy an old Land Rover a lower a old Mercedes on top of it
Restore to Grand Tour starting condition and slightly improve, safety wise, and some beautification and preservation.
Why is JC the only presenter that no longer seems to support the channel by appearing on it?
He’s busy farming LoL
I have been wondering that. Would be great to see him make a appearance
He doesn't care
Council wont let him do it
Cause Mike drove the Alpha without permission! ThAnKs LiSa!!
Coolant leak will defo be the pipe under the supercharger the plastic one splits.
6:20 lot of sand in Mauritania, lot of space to lose yourself, many holes, buried deep, that pedestrian wont be talking

I think this car deserves a proper Jag toolkit, and a more cozy and soft trunk, so that borrowed oil paintings will not be damaged on this bare metal
unreal the v8 block has v6 heads on it and blanked off hahah love it
The shots of Mike's hand going up and down the shaft of Jeremy's intake as he compares it to Richard's though.. 😂
Currently on my 2nd Jaguar (F-Type) and would love to see it in the flesh

take back to stock and see if it was possible to modify the block to lose the blocked off cylinders
One word POWER!
A shame that we don't get to see James' Maserati, that one was clearly the best (looking) car.
Yay. Glad there is a plan for the Aston
An offroad roadster... Sounds fun, im guessing it's one-time-use 😂😂😂
"Found" is doing a lot of heavy lifting there.
Also "finally"
Go full rally mode, obviously!
Why would he leave it? This was one of few occasions that he had no mechanical issues and was able to go rallying with it. It proved just how reliable a modern jaguar is. I would have kept it as you feel proud of it for taking such a beating and still going strong.
Grand tour cars should by default go to drivetribe next
jeremy unleashed a trend any two door convertible with a supercharger- fun. no need of turbos

The JAAAAG
Thank goodness. I don't know why one would choose to save the Aston over this, so the world feels right again.
You really missed an opportunity during this episode Mike.
You should have included the Amazon links to all the knock off parts used on the car.
They didn't even bother to use stainless rivnuts. Sadly 99% of garages in the UK build and modify the cars like this. Look "okayish" on collection, 6 months down the line it all wears away.
Was following it through Hereford Mac Donald’s a couple of weeks ago
If it were my choice, think I'd keep it as a rally raid car, but do it properly. Think it would be a real shame to return it to a typical road car.
GREAT now ive got to go rewatch that ep of GT
Ripples on the water from the great car show :)

"Finally Been Found!" its from the latest grand tour show. was the motor even cooled from when Jeremy parked it? cool to see it didn't disappear though
V8 f-type is the only one to get. The weight difference is negligible as they basically use the same block
The grand tour loves to do things on a budget.
Now all that's left is James May's Maserati🎉❤
id love to see you go down to his farm and ask him about it
Full Restomod
Completely forgot about that gt special, that just don’t hit like the old days
theres thousands of normal F-Types arround but only one of them
Do you know what happened to May's panda 4×4 from Colombia? I very much want that Car
Make a proper job of all the botches: get rid of the wood screws etc., tidy up all the hacks and make it UK road legal. It will be an epic car again
These would get soo much more views and be better to watch if they actually got clarkson and James on when ever they were getting cars they used on the grand tour
Leave as is. Keep the sand too. Just fix the leaks. Be a show stopper wherever you go.
Keep on up on smallcoge
I think you should keep the same look, but take the time to make it look like it was done factory.
Take it trail rallying
I do love an F-type
Should bring James one back also
using wood screws instead of rivets is insane xD
Wow. A Jaaaaaaaaag from way back in the days when Jaguar/Land Rover actually made cars.
Do I see a possible hire for Top Gear or preferably the Grand Tour?! I freakin do!
I'd tidy it up a bit, but keep it in the same spirit
The first car I ever crashed was a 69' XKE. Actually not my fault. A lady in an SUV threw her truck in reverse at a red light we were waiting at.
Why doesn't Clarkson appear in DriveTribe videos??
"bolted on" is being generous
Personally just re do all the bad bits properly and update some of the off road components and do some rally tours
How many holes are on this Jag you ask... ALL of the holes!
Do these have an aluminium shell? How exactly do you repair an aluminium sill that you've cut with a hacksaw to MoT standards?
This car made me want to trade my XJL for an F-type
To keep the look of how it was in the show, I'd remove and redo all the mods but properly
I thought from Clarkson's comments on the grand tour, he would want to have it back
This week on DriveTribe Presents: Another Jaguar
hey hey hey.. let's not throw stones. 🤣
I want to ask out of pure curiosity why Jeremy chose the F-type and not the XKR, considering the general theme of the special was 2 door, 4 seater convertible GT cars?
Let's not get bogged down on how many holes are in this Jag :p
it cant be that shoddy it survived being Clarksoned
So how is the V6 the best engine, when it is just carrying the weight of an V8 but without its power and cylinders?
Put a cage in it and make it a rally car
JAAAAG

How about, finishing a project, it's quite annoying trying to figure out where and what project we're meant to be on.
