Thank you so much! That's so kind. It took me a while to decide how to combine them but I do love the display this year so it was worth all the effort!
I always really enjoy your dahlia reviews Annette. Thank you for taking the time and the effort to make them. The only problem I have, is that when I watch them, I always end up adding more varieties to my “Must Have” list! I don’t know where I’m going to put them all! I already have over 50 different varieties and am running out of space!😂
I love all the dahlias and I really love the bumblebees landing on the flowers….so cute and sweet. Dahlia April Heather……when I think of April, I think of all the beautiful pastel colours of Easter with flowers such as gorgeous yellow daffodils. A bit like a fresh start to the growing season and new life such as lambs in the fields. Well that’s my take on it and April is my birth month, so I think I will have too try and get a tuber xxx I love how all the single dahlias look like they are dancing in the bud vases because of the breeze 🐝🐝🐝😃
Really enjoying these videos Annette. How fantastic it must be to see all that colour in those amazing beds! I find that dahlias have good and bad years so I always grow a variety for at least two years before deciding its future. Plants grown from cuttings should do as well as a tuber in their first year. I admire your Bells of Ireland which look really good. And finally, the anemone flowered Totally Tangerine is worth a look. I think you would enjoy the colour.
Thank you so much Jan. Yes, I too, thought that the dahlias from cuttings would be just as good, in fact, I've read that they're more vibrant and that tubers tend to wane in energy after a few years. I've had Totally Tangerine in the past but lost it last year in the 'big freeze' and haven't replaced it yet - it is gorgeous though. The Bells are all self-seeded - my efforts at germination in a damp towel/plastic bag were rubbish so I'm really glad that I have these - although Richard did 'weed' quite a few before I pointed out the error of his ways 🤣
Annette, I love all your Dahlias but particularly Richard's Fortune, Mary Evelyn and Bright Eyes. Love the name Poodle Skirt. At first I thought it was an Echinacea. It's good to see so many bees. It's the same in my garden and one of these days I'm going to get stung on my nose as I'm always putting it in the flowers to get their fragrance!
🤣 I got bitten quite badly in 3 places by a spider whilst I was deadheading - occupational hazard I guess. But every bee that lands on a flower just fills me with joy 💚
Love your beautiful Dahlias! I had blue bayou last year and it was gorgeous and about 6 feet tall! Sadly, the tubers didn’t survive the winter but I would love to get it again for next year. Enjoy!!
First video of yours I've come across and love it. I had heard of several varieties, but most were new to me. I grow doubles now, but seeing yours all together in the vases at the end has convinced me I need to expand into singles (singles on purpose- not like Maxime, which I've renamed "Bedhead" because it almost never looks as good as the catalogue picture). I've never seen anything quite like Mary Evelyn, which is my favorite of yours. I also really like Princess Nadine and Edith Jones. I love how dahlias just look great together no matter what color combo. After I deadhead some tired-looking double blooms and put them in a trash bag, I look down inside the trash bag and even they look beautiful all in a pile! I get a lot of pests here in zone 7A Maryland, USA, especially leafhoppers, but they're worth it and bloom sometimes as early as June and certainly to mid November. I even learned that with a little covering, mine can stay in the ground in winter, too. 😀 I'll be sure to check out your other videos. Thanks!
Fabulous dahlias. I grow Bishop's children as a single for my pollinators. I adore the anemone flowered dahlias. I already had Mambo but added Richard's Fortune this year- what a fabulous dahlia- continuously in bloom- love it.Going to buy Molly Raven and Blue Bayou for next year. Slowly build my stock. I wonder if there is a pale pink anemone flowered plant? Would love something that colour to complement the deep pinks and purples of those I already have or plan to buy. Thank you for sharing your beautiful dahlias with us. Happy gardening :-) x
Thanks Be. The pinkest one I have is Mambo but maybe that's too dark for you. You could try Take Off - I used to have that but lost it this winter. Also, there's one called Lambada that may suit you. 🌸
Hi Susan, thank you. Gosh, everyone has different ideas about this. I plant mine quite close together, about 40cm. But it's not a good idea to do this if you're in a climate that is humid - they will suffer. If you can give them 60cm, that is even better. - it does depend on the variety too; the shorter varieties won't spread as much as the really big ones like Great Silence. 😊🌸
Thanks Lynn. I don't really have to worry about thrips in my garden but I do have lots of aphids and black fly, especially when the viburnum are putting on new growth. I haven't had problems with earwigs in the past but this year is the first one where I'm noticing nibbles on my dahlias that aren't caused by slugs (don't get me wrong, I have slug problems too!!!).
Wow! just wow!
Thank you!
12.19 It's paradise. Perfect all of them!!
Gosh, thank you so much! 😁
Love love love your collection ! You did such a good job by color coordinating your dahlias.

🤣 I know that feeling Aileen...it's a real struggle trying to find the space!
@aileenstewart3083 Gosh! 50 varieties?
16.56 It's coral colour.
19.10 The bees can read your thoughts, that's why they go on the ones you want to pick.
Not sure what I enjoyed the most. I quite love the dahlia's for sure, but I'm totally smitten by your enthousiasm 😃
Wow, that means so much to me, thank you, thank you. 🥰
Annette your dahlias are stunning! Thank you for sharing them.
You are so welcome, thank you so much.
They are absolutely beautiful!
Thank you so much Elizabeth! 😁

It’s amazing have different they all are
Hi Fariba, yes, they are all so different and so beautiful. I'd love to have a bigger collection one day! Thanks for watching. Annette 🌸

That makes so much sense about April Heather - not sure why that wasn't the picture I had in my head too! 🤣 Thanks Susie.
All are pretty. I like the color of the April Heather. I like your necklace also.
Thank you so much! Yes, April Heather is a firm favourite 😁
Thank you ❤. Love listening to you and see your wonderful garden 🌺🌸😍
So nice of you, thank you 😁🌸
Great video!!! Suddenly my Dahlia wish list has grown!
😁 Sorry abut that! 🤣
Your bees are cute and different colors than my bees in California
Mine are mostly yellow and yours have black and chubby and fluffy
I love it
🤣🐝 yes they're so fun and cute and it brings me so much joy to have a garden that they love to visit 😁
Love love your tours❤
Thank you so much 😁

I agree with good years and bad years. It seems they take turns being the star. My peonies do that too!
Soooo magnificent!! Thank you!
My pleasure - so glad you like it.
Wow ,your dahlias look amazing! My must have list is getting longer, and I’m out of room . Thanks for sharing .💐
Thank you and.... sorry to add to your list 😁
Thank you very much, wonderful collection ❤
Hi Titiana, I'm so glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks for watching.
Annette 🌸
love it
Thanks Annie 🌸
You're blessed and the pollinators show how good you take care of your plants ❤️

Can't see of anyone has commented about this, but I think your Floorinoor might be Lifestyle? The foliage looks right for that one 😊
Thanks for the info Kaz 😊
@@cottoverdi you're welcome! Thoroughly enjoyed your video, your garden is wonderful 🥰
Love your beautiful Dahlias! I had blue bayou last year and it was gorgeous and about 6 feet tall! Sadly, the tubers didn’t survive the winter but I would love to get it again for next year. Enjoy!!
Thanks Gail. Hope you manage to get your hands on another tuber - they are gorgeous. Blue Bayou was one of the very first dahlias I ever bought.
Just beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing your dahlia’s with us and giving the side by side.
The bees were an added bonus :)
Thanks Elle. I'm so glad you enjoyed it - and the bees - they make me so happy 😁

Wow, thank you Karen. Yes, Edith Jones is FANTASTIC. Highly recommend. It sounds like your garden must be looking fabulous with all your dahlias. 🌸
What an absolutely incredible dahlia collection!
Thank you! 🌸
What a fabulous collection of dahlias you have! Bonny
Thanks Bonny. I'm trying to figure out how I can squeeze some more in....!
How do you remember all the names
You’re amazing with amazing flowers
Thanks so much! I think I remember the names because I love them so much 😁. Thanks for watching. Annette 🌸

So pretty! I adore swathes of flowers in your garden. Will you be doing an episode about pom pom dahlias?
Thank you - yes, pom pom are the next in my series - I'm hoping to have that filmed and uploaded in the next few days. 🌸
@@cottoverdi excellent :-) I have a couple of pompom dahlias and they are so sweet

Where are you located? Your dahlias are ones I recognize but you have an accent. It's making me think UK. Am I correct?
Hi, I'm in South Buckinghamshire, UK - yes, you're correct!
