  • Welcome to Sabiha’s Flavor Journey! Today, I’m sharing a step-by-step guide to making the signature dish of Solapur, Dalcha & Rice or locally referred to as, Dalcha Chawal. The dish is served during special occasios, like weddings, receptions, engagements, birthdays, get-togethers etc.

    Dalcha Ingredients :-
    - **Meat**: 500 grams lamb or chicken, cut into pieces
    - **Lentils (Dal)**: 1 cup toor dal (split pigeon peas) or masoor dal (split chickpeas), soaked
    - **Vegetables**:
    - 2 tomatoes, chopped
    - Optional: carrots, bottle gourd, or other vegetables as preferred
    - **Onion**: 1 large, finely chopped
    - **Ginger-Garlic Paste**: 2 tablespoons
    - **Green Chilies**: 2-3, slit
    - **Tamarind Pulp**: 2 tablespoons (optional, for a tangy flavor)
    - **Oil or Ghee**: 3 tablespoons
    - **Water**: As required
    #### Spices :-
    - **Turmeric Powder**: 1 teaspoon
    - **Red Chili Powder**: 1 teaspoon
    - **Coriander Powder**: 2 teaspoons
    - **Garam Masala**: 1 teaspoon
    - **Salt**: To taste
    Rice Ingredients :-
    - **Basmati Rice**: 500g
    - **Water**: 4 cups
    - **Salt**: 1 teaspoon
    - **Oil or Ghee**: 1 tablespoon (optional, for added flavor)
    - *Food colour*
    Garnish (Optional) :-
    - **Fresh Coriander Leaves**: Chopped
    - **Fried Onions**: For extra flavor and crunch
