    You hooked me in the first few seconds when you said you were from WY. I’ve lived here for 21 years for work & would love to leave the US for NZ!

    I'm not sure if it is viable for everyone, but not living in or near Auckland is a great way to budget.
    $1mil where I live is 2 nice houses.

    Thank you @MorganMarieWolff, for such a fantastic and informative video! We’re considering a move to NZ for many reasons. I’ve been retired for just two years and worked in a field, advanced manufacturing/ automation, I understand is in demand there! We’ve done WWOOFing just this year as well as working on local organic farm here in MI, so that would also be a great possibility. Caught my attention right away when you mentioned it! We’re also big outdoors enthusiasts and love camping, hiking and backpacking. Since we’ve never been, a visit possibly in Feb / March or April timeframe might be good? End of summer there. Would a month be enough to get the lay of the land and spend time on both islands? Assuming all prices you mentioned are in NZD (currently about 1.67 to 1)? Thanks again! 😀

    Really enjoying your weekly videos! Please keep them coming! Any chance of one on what a weekly budget in NZ would look like? To help prospective immigrants see if what salaries that are offered will sustain them ;)

    Wow Morgan, it doesn't matter what your subject is, your energy rubs off on me! Whilst l may not always agree with all of your opinions, they stimulate the thought process and open my eyes wider. And of course Morgan's Super Bloopers are worth the weekly wait.👍🏻💖. Give thought to having a guest on the show, maybe an American who has been here a few years longer. Their opinion would be interesting.

    Immigration NZ has changed some of their settings for working holiday visa. Some countries can now apply up to 35 years (others still age up to 30)
    Also some can stay up to 23 months (others remain at 12 mths)

    Relax.
    "Sweet as" and "She'll be right" are central to our culture .
    Every thing you own is second hand.
    Hospice shops and other charity outlets in NZ are often a bargain, You can buy the household necessity's for a home for a few cents in the dollar and help a good cause in the process.
    Trade me gives the price of anything you will need from cars to accommodation.
    Most times you engage with officialdom in NZ you will find a desire to help rather than the projection of power.
    Perfection is an ideal not the reality. "God zone" NZ is close to paradise but is still has everything that is wrong in the real world .
    You go girl. you have an innate brightness that enhances life and is always welcome in my home land .

    love your insights on small things to consider before coming to new zealand planning come over there next year with my family hope it will be great...
    one question we're going tauranga is that a good place to start off if planning to stay long term?

      Tauranga is my hometown.....you will lovee it there....Its got the beaches and harbour there and travel 20 minutes inland to farmland and bush and the odd lake and freshwater swimming spots and waterfalls.
      The thing about Tauranga is it is a city that has grown and continues to grow fast and is not too far to travel to other towns like Rotorua, Taupo, Hamilton and Auckland.
      Depenable on what your taste is......there are some really great areas close to the beaches.
      A lot of people moved there because it is a great place to retire, and now everybody wants to move there after they see what Tauranga has to offer in terms of Lifestyle for all....
      Hope this will give you a little insight into what to Tauranga is like if you get there.

      100000 mostly Maori & Polynesians of this land are houseless. Either displaced or trespassed violations to let in immigrants. You need to ask yourselves why is your country in the state it is? And why are you coming here doing the same thing to us? Taking homes from us. We have a treaty that must be honoured. Your country has the same. If your not from their then you need to heal where your origin is from. Some Americans state your from Spain. That was a black country prior just as the whole world was prior to invasions. Do you know why you have no identity?

    Confused by your renting advice when you say an alternative option is renting a room in a house...naturally you have to rent a room, you'd hardly be renting the entire house unless you're moving as a family with children.
    Also your tramping/walking boots won't be thrown away by biosecurity, they'll clean them up for you :)

    • @mattieclan8957
      @mattieclan8957 2 роки тому +1

      Yes there is such thing as renting a room in a house which would usually be known as a boarder. The owner lives in the house and rent out the room. Each has their own set of rules what amenities is included in the agreement like cooking etc

      @geangekate 2 роки тому

      @@mattieclan8957 I wasn't talking about boarding, I was just talking about normal renting. I wasn't sure why she mentioned renting a room in a house as an alternative/different option, as if it's not the normal situation (apart from for families).
