Seen on Craigslist 40 ft hi cube picked up at Baltimore port $1800. A trucker friend would pick it up for reasonable $ neighbor with a backhoe & some 3 inch pipe under it we pulled it off the trailer & pushed it with backhoe into place. $2,000 total & a case of beer & a few grilled steaks, my new work shop

I bought a 1998 40 footer 2300 (20 was 2100 here)..Northern IL....I read that they are good for 2 or 3 decades so mine has very few dents, etc. Hopefully it will last longer than 10 more years! Thanks for your video.
Skid Loader Beginner JCB 260, Bees, Farm, Pets how has it aged? Is it in the same condition as you bought it or is it rusting out?
I wish our delivery company had that side loader! Just for price comparison, we spent $2,100 USD each for our B grade 40ft high cube containers , plus $400 each for delivery of about 100 miles. We did grind off loose paint / rust before we painted and put the elastomeric coating on the roof.
$2100 is approximately $3000nz.. delivery $400 in NZ dollar approx $620
Hi. I know this video from 3 years ago i just searching. Which part of US u paid that price? I quoted for $3000 + delivery 100 miles $450. Maybe price much higher now with the Pandemic?!

yer not bad i got a 40ft high cube to my place about 5-10k away from depot the truck is a side loader i pay $3300 for a b class box if i get to tassy ill have to get it certified just for 1 more trip as thay get certified for 10yr till they get re certified or sold
i love to make a shed and a house out of em

Am looking at a A Grade 9.6 high x 40ft contained now at $4.900 to build my garage in Australia with free delivery as it only 3 kilometres away thank god for that . But i need to hire a crane to get it off and in processing which is okay as he only just up the road from me at a $180 a hour thank god for that too.
Beware of a sales from Container One they sold me a container with both side walls puffed out 6 inches. They claimed this was just a cosmetic issue.

Hey great video! Question.. do you know if your container floor is treated with pesticides? And if yes what are your plans for it?
Hi from Canada. You mentioned the smell in one of your videos. From chemicals? How are you dealing any air quality toxins etc?
We live close to a rail yard, would you have had it shipped on rail and arranged local transport from the rail yard, or would that have saved any money.
At only 8 foot wide Can you really live in it?
There is no cell reception inside a container. also, I have never been able to get confirmation on how to prevent lightening strikes.
You can never prevent lightening strikes, unless you can control the weather. Otherwise, do what they do on skyscrapers and office towers to reduce damage from lightening; install lightening rods to ground
@@62Cristoforo I cannot install the lightening rods in the rocky ground. that is my problem. No one has an answer. If the container is a faraday cage, the lightening will go into the ground and I will be safe inside. that is the theory but I have no proof.
Question for anyone, ...what do you do to prepare the ground for the containers to prevent sinking and allowing it to stay level?
Some say 3/4 inch gravel is the way to go but ground must be fairly level.
Three or four inches of gravel rock is one of the best long term solutions. It allows water runoff underneath and is extremely durable. You would want to dig a two or three inch base for the gravel, and use a plate compactor to tamp it down nice and level so it doesn't move over time. To check level you can run a string line from corner to corner with a line level, but placing the shipping container on the gravel is the hard part depending on how you plan to do it.
You can knock the dents out with a piece of wood and a hammer

I have spent months researching into building container homes and found a fantastic resource at Rohon Home Build (check it out on google)
