Gosh Patara, I love you because you are real!! You could be my neighbor, yet we have never met other than on this site. I love the fact you teach, you care, you are in the present, but respect the past, you pray, you respect, and you are so full of sweet peacefulness! I have been blessed to have found you here. Not only do your words mean a ton to me, but I catch myself reflecting on them throughout my busy days. Big hugs and blessings to you, along with love.
Thanks for sharing. Takes me back about 30 years. You are living the good years right now. Loved seeing Olive enjoying the shower. All that pittie energy! 😉
Thank you for the 4th of July video. My 89 yr old mom just got out out of the hospital from a fall. My prayers were answered and she is back home with me. Physical therapy and OT starting soon. I hope you nana is doing good Patera. Love your beautiful garden and all the critters on the farm.
When we got a cow and calf my hubby mostly milked but when I did it. My hands wouldn’t last long. Poor Bessie. I got stronger after a while. But that milk. Yum. My kids said they wouldn’t try it. While they were at school I put her milk in a regular milk jug and got it cold for supper. They all poured the milk and drank it. When we were done eating I asked them how the food was. Great they all said. I told them it was Bessie’s milk. They looked shocked but continued to drink it without fussing. My oldest loved the buttermilk. Oh the butter!
I just want you to know... from 1 Christian sister to another, I love your show and watch you daily. You are so full of encouragement! Stay sweet sister. I'm so sorry for your loss of your dog. It is so hard to lose a friend like him.
Girl I feel your pain working today. The heat index has been 108 here all afternoon and I’ve just finished mowing…5 hours on the mower. I’d stop when my ears started ringing and go cool down and then start again. The heat is a true killer in the south, especially the last three years. I’ll be so glad when the sun finishes its cycle…we’re in solar maximum pretty much right now and that I believe has to be contributing to this insane heat the last couple years. I’m looking forward to solar minimum. You’re working hard, Patara…like always I know. Please take plenty of breaks in this extreme heat. Happy 4th of July to y’all! ❤
You’re awesome sister! Y’ALL! The capacity w which Patara loves each and every animal that graces her farm is something to behold. We get to watch them adore her when she’s near them bc of all the work she puts in when we aren’t around. I’ve never seen a better example of the pied piper in my life! You have to pay attention, so much of it is unspoken. ✌🏼 ❤️
No yanking! I agree with you Patara 😊 .. I had a jersey cow that I milked. Her name was Daisy ❤.. My Father in law taught me how to milk her. I could not wait to learn to milk Daisy 😊 .. She is in Heaven now! I missed her greatly when she left us 😭
I canned 6 quarts of apricots for my mom today and 5.5 quarts of peaches for my kids today.... even though it's over 100 degrees here in CA today. The fruit won't wait. I tried chanelling my Grandma for inspiration to make jam.... but it's just to hot. I threw more fruit in the freezer. That was probably my grandma's advice anyway. She was no dummy. Now I'll go out and water the gardens (again). 👊
I milked in a dairy barn and we had to check every cow, every teet by hand into a little cup with a screen to check for mastitis.... Boy those were the days, I was so young and strong back then, now I am disabled. I watch your channel and dream I could do all the things you do... You're very blessed. I learned how to milk with a little vaseline on my fingers to not hurt the cows. I loved them. Please continue to show things like this... You're such a blessing. Love your gardens and all the animals. Sorry for the long comment. I appreciate you gal. May God bless and keep you and yours.
That is a nice bunch of vegetables . I’m jealous . We are experiencing 95 temperatures everyday here in Southern Virginia . Taking a toll on the garden .
Happy 4th of July!!! The garden looks great! We have tons of tomatoes coming outta ours! I've been grilling burgers, its 97 and 108 heat index here in central AL!!! Lawd!
Happy 4th of July, Patra!!🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 You have such a beautiful farm. I love your sweet little critters.❤ Thank you for explaining on how you do things around your farm. It helps and I learn so much from your wisdom. The way you explain things is so helpful and very informative. Have a good night and God bless you! Big Hugs and lots of love!!🤗❤️🥰 Happy 4th everyone!! Enjoy but please be safe. 😊🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
God bless our beautiful country, God bless you Miss Patara and your family, God bless all your farm animals and God bless everyone on your channel. Happy Fourth of July. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸❤️❤️💙❤️🤍🤍
I so happy you said not to “yank” on that animal! Omg…it must hurt and I bet they don’t like it. Be kind to animals! Learn to do it right…like Patara ♥️ I love the way you care for your animals….
Been practicing that hand technique for 60 years, ever since I convinced my cousin to teach me. He laughed when I said I would have my own milk cow. Our Jersey had a little heifer and we are both learning. Raw fresh milk is the best. Your produce looks wonderful
Happy Independence Day, everyone! Patara, I have no goats and never will have goats, and I was hanging on everything you were saying like I knew there was going to be a test 🤣
Loved this video. It really spoke to me when you talked about with everything going on in this world how easy it is to get overwhelmed. I really took this to heart as I have been feeling so anxious and overwhelmed. Truly is the devil at work. Plus I also had to make the decision to put my oldest dog down last week. So hard to have to make that decision but that is what you have to do sometimes. You are an inspiration and Francis is just adorable. When vacationing in ottertail I got to visit a berry farm and they had baby goats. ADORABLE. Thought of you
Wow you’re so far ahead of Michigan as far as harvesting from your garden. I’m so excited, love this time of year. Your dog going after the spray nozzle reminds me of our late border collie. Made me giggle ❤
I remember when Boogie was alive the hose dance. He would jump, spin and dance happy as all get out. Bless You Patara and All here, Our Patriots. God Wins
What a fantastic video. Your gardens are great. The beautiful produce is amazing. Also love to see your happy, smiling animals. Olive was so cute with the hose. I hope your 4th of July was fun. You really gave a great example of independence. Love you Patara!
Big thunderstorm here right now... Close enough to the Gulf to feel Beryl headed in pushing Gulf moisture along.. rain in the forecast almost every day next week
So amazing that you are getting all the garden produce especially tomatoes. We here in Oregon don't get much in our gardens until late August early September. I decided to buy a good sized tomato plant this year and I have never had a dud plant before but I think this is one. It shows little buds like they should be flowers but nothing is happening. It has been planted in a big pot for a month. Bummer
I want to say Patara is so LUCKY, but it isn't luck, it's EDUCATION and HARD WORK!!
I had two cows and 4 goats to milk b4 school when I was 10. And had to carry 10 to 14 five gallon buckets of water b4 I got ready for school.
You sound just like my Nana & I love it! ❤️
@@appalachiashomesteadwithpatara I loved it to. I loved my animals...and miss 5hem dearly.

Yank the teets!!!! OMG!! People, put yourself in the place of the goat! I always appreciate your thoughtful lessons.
Right?! Imagine if you’re engorged too! Ouch!! 😩
@@brendah4773I CALLED MY ENGORGED BREASTS…..BRICK BREASTS‼️‼️‼️‼️LOL!!!!!!!‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️😁
Engorged isn't the half of it! When that baby is hungry or teething and they latch on! NO WoRDS appropriate here! Yikes!
@melodymadison-np9yv how about....."makes the toes curl!" ? Been there...ugh
Thanks for sharing. Takes me back about 30 years. You are living the good years right now. Loved seeing Olive enjoying the shower. All that pittie energy! 😉
Your garden is an orderly work of art. It looks super! You're a great teacher!

once was great, before God was "dismissed"!
