Static's powers are so amazing, but the real power is Virgil's mind. As the show progresses, it's always nice to see Virgil create new abilities and tricks with his electric powers. And it's even more impressive when he becomes one of the most powerful superheroes in the future JLU. He just keeps getting stronger and much more skilled in his fights.

Really goes to show how much you can do with a single general ability to electricity manipulation. Imagine if Hot Streak was half as smart as Virgil is with his firepowers, best thing he ever does is propel himself like a rocket and make a fire sword but Fire Manipulation offers so many options.
I grew up watching this show. It was one of my favorite cartoons. God I miss those days.

Probably easier to control and fly with.
He stops riding the trash can lid a couple episodes in, and rides on a disc made of mylar for the rest of the show.
