Curiously, here in Brazil we had two private initiatives to form a local-station-alliance TV network: First, there was Emissoras Unidas ("United Broadcasters"), from 1950s to 1970s. Later, we had REI - Rede de Emissoras Independentes ("Independent Broadcasters Network"). Both were leaded by TV Record, channel 4 in São Paulo. REI was dissolved in 1989, when Universal Church leader Edir Macedo acquired several channels in Brazil, including TV Record, forming a new, and more traditional, network: "Rede Record", now RecordTV. In certain points, we can say RecordTV is a Brazilian ITV.

I was literally expecting this video to be a short history about an actual attempt at bringing ITV to the US, & Latin America.
