Hi Sam, thinking of replacing my ariel with a DAB one, would you need to remove the headlining to get at this or can you access it once the light is removed? thanks

I know this was a year ago but did you find a leak and if so how did you fix it please

I think the radio aerial was leaking a bit. So removed it, put a bead of silicone beneath it and then refitted. Apparently it is reasonably common for a leak to develop there

Thanks for the video. I have the exact same mould staining on my headliner. Did the vanish and steam cleaning method work well? Many thanks

Does anyone have any tips on how to get the light off? The clip things aren't moving at all and I really need to get the light off. There's loads of sand in there from the previous owner

The clear cab light cover just clips off with a screwdriver.

    Hi
Did you manage to find out were the leak was coming from ?
I might have the same issue I was thinking it could be from were the roof aerial mounts on ?
Also were the roof slopes down to the windscreen is that piece of the roof fiberglass ?
    Thanks

Hi Andy. Yes my leak was coming from one 9f the holes I'ddrilled to mount my solar panel. I've had the ariel off - there's a little rubber seal to prevent water ingress. Best thing to do is strip out the headlining and the get someone to spray the roof with water and see wheres it's coming from! The roof is all steel. Cheers.

      Thanks for the reply Sam
Is their a chance the rubber seal could perished on the aerial my van is a 2009 or going by yours does the seal seam durable
Good idea to get someone on the roof pouring water I'll defo give that a go 👍
      Thanks

@@andyvaughan8062 yh mines a 2012, and looked fine. Since its not something that you repeatedly take on and off and it's not exposed to UV I can't see any reason for it to wear out...yh or spray a hose at it...if it is leaking from there you could always remove it, apply a small bead of sealant and then refit it. I did consider doing this on mine but was confident the leak wasn't coming from there so didn't bother. Cheers!

It's a common issue on these vans. The marker lights above the windshield need more sealant or else they leak into the cab.

Thank you for this video from Germany! You are right, not many people insulate above the Cab. Question. Did you insulate the cab ceiling/under tray area? Just wondering if it makes sense to do so if I have some spare insulation.

If you done above the cab, I don't really see the need to do the cab ceiling too. If you've got insulation left over I would probably do another layer above the cab. Cheers

I suggest you replace that plastic shelf in the cab area. Things can fall behind there and it can be really hard to retrieve anything. In my van the roof had started to rust because things got stuck there.

Yh took the tray put too (7 minutes onwards)...will probably put it back in once I've insulated though...saves making up a replacement

Great video! I particularly liked how you showed step by step all the details of removing the thing. I'm preparing to do the same myself
Did some of the clips break when being removed? Did you have to buy new ones to put the thing back on again?
