The current type of blowout prevention Is a major ptoblem. No way of isolating pressure and once in place is the only way of isolating pressure. If this type of bop works leaves the well sitting on the seafloor sealed only by crushed/cut piping. It's a virtual time bomb and repairs cannot be made unless a spill is created. In deep horizon's case the Bop failed. Pressure went past both the blind shear rams and annular valve and went through the riser to the drill platform and found a heat source. I'm a mechanic employed in Alaska's North slope oilfields in Prudhoe Bay at the Kuparuk river unit - conoco phillips. I also have over 30 years experience in pipeline repair and maintenance. I supplied BP with my caphead design that was used to stop the macondo well spill. I still have copies of my design submitted as well as emails to and from the horizon helpline. Since I didn't file for a patent my design was used on the macondo well and stopped the leak and because I didn't patent my design was robbed by BP. The same type of bop is still in use and needs to be replaced before it creates another spill of which I have designs that will work but are not free. "007".
