Hello all, I read that Bones was stuck in US, so he wasn't able to be on stage with the band. Even if it's temporary and due to circumstances, I agree that Midnight Oil needs Bones.
@@titibill Someone named coover made that observation below in the comments. I’m coming from a hobbyist musician perspective. Moog synthesisers are glorious instruments when solo’d but they don’t “cut through in the mix” like a proper bass guitar rig. You’ve got to double them up, I think.
Just read that Peter Gifford was early Oils bassist. The Stand In Line bass guitarist.

Today I read that Bones Hillman passed away. Darn it! Amazed to learn that he was the Counting The Beat bassist.
RIP their bassist Bones Hillman. After a battle with cancer he died at the age of 62 in his home of Milwaukee, Wisconsin USA. He'll always be remembered.
RIP Bones the new material will be cherished. Condolences to his family , friends ,band mates and fans alike.

It's awful and mean 🥺 After 23 years, I saw M.Oil as a complete band back on stage on July 13th 2019. I was so happy! Today, only 16 month later, i read that Bones Hillman has passed away, to young 😥 I am so sorry for his family, friends and fans ... R.I.P. Bones 😢🙏

So powerful and so moving, with simple but so well chosen words! I A support from the Oils so needed for the Aboriginal people and Nation, that I always loved!
In Europe, the Oils were known around their peak, like I guess in many places.. but now I realize they're so much than some of their hits! they're so important for 'Gadigal land' and for the whole world! Especially in the more and more troubled times we're entering.. They're real punks forever, and much more! And now with the 'Resist' album about the environmental crisis.. Another proof that's it's not only about music is the enduring engagement of the band, and especially Peter Garrett, who entered even the government!
I'm buying your albums guys, and hope the world re-discovers you as well! Long life!
