How fun having Benjamin singing and doing his own thing while helping mom! Just love it! Beautiful space and family.
Wasn't that the sweetest?❤
Laura love watching your videos! Have you ever tried wintering over geraniums? You wait until the first hard freeze, pull them out of the ground, shake the dirt off and cut them back. I lay mine out to dry a few days. Shake off any extra dirt I missed and put them in a paper sack. They will appear dead in March but if you plant them and fertilize them the grow. They will be bigger every year. Super easy to do. I even had them start blooming in the spring before I get them planted. You should try it
Lovely!!❤❤❤
Benjamin’s little humming and singing in the background was so sweet!
I agree and his conversation with his mama... the sweetest!
It was the perfect background music for planting! 🎶
When we lived in Mobile we had a kumquat tree in our backyard. One day when our daughter was a little younger than Samantha Grace I noticed she looked like a chipmunk. She had a mouth full of kumquats and just this little mmmmm sound coming out of her mouth. Sweet like Benjamin’s humming in the background of this video. A fun memory. ❤🐿️🌿🎶
Love the sweet sounds of a happy boy in the background!❤ You are an amazing gardener, but you and Aaron are even more amazing parents! And THAT is the most important job you will ever have…kudos to both of you!
I completely agree!! ♥️
Good Morning! 🎅 I love hearing Benjamin's voice in the background! He is a good helper & what a perfect learning/teaching atmosphere! 😃🎄🌱🤍
I grew up up in south Florida. Kumquat trees were the perfect climbing tree because the branches were low enough for a 10 year to reach and the added benefit of a fresh fruit snack. We ate until the corners of our mouth burned. lol. This video triggered a wonderful childhood memory for me. The geraniums in your greenhouse are beautiful. Love your videos.
Me too I thought the same. I live in Florida and we would always climb the kumquat trees. I think the varieties we have here get a bit taller than 6 feet though.
Benjamin seems like a very helpful young man. Just a joy to be around. Good job parents.
Your geraniums are beautiful, Laura. The peach colored at the end are very pretty, too.
Thank you for a peaceful, relaxing tutorial on kumquats and geraniums.
What a fun time! Benjamin is learning so much and I just love how you teach him so gently and sweet 🥰
His saying “ I’ve never done that before” when he was going to pour the soil in the pot. Soooo sweeeeet!
Your precious Benjamin is so sweet! Loved his expression when he came over during the kumquat discussion. That young man adores his mama.
Have you ever considered launching a container line with matching saucers? 🤔
Love your videos, been watching since day one.
Your repotting projects today were so satisfying! The sweet little geraniums would make a perfect little gift for someone. Makes me think I should try to grow some seeds♡ My favorite part of your video was Benjamin. ♡ He is such a sweet boy. When he walked up to you, looked into your eyes then smiled at you.... 🥹 I melted. Oh my goodness ♡ Who needs to win the lottery when a mama has a little boys heart!
Continued blessings to your family!
I love these ‘puttering around the greenhouse’ winter projects. And I really look forward to all your downtime projects each winter, too. Provides excellent inspiration for some of my own projects I’d like to get started on. (Like the cemeterarium I wanted to start for some green Halloween decor, but never got around to.)
Love these puttering videos too! I wonder if she is going to do a video of her decorating her indoor Christmas trees and decorating the home?? I really have enjoyed those each year! 🥰🙂
I love Hidden Pictures from highlights!!! Like teaching Kindergarten all over again!!! 👵🏼❤
I started maverick white pelargoniums from seed last spring. I had wanted red, but only white was available, but what a pleasant surprise they turned out to be. It was lovely to spend time with you and Benjamin potting up plants. Thanks kindly!
Highlights? I didn’t know that was still a thing! I remember Highlights from being a kid and that was 60 years ago!
All good things stand the test of time 😊
I grew the Maverick apple blossom last year from seed. 9 out of 10 sprouted. Beautiful all summer. They're in the garage dormant now. Hoping I'll have them again. Thank you!
The geraniums are adorable! Cute like puppies and kitties! I grew up eating kumquats in my grandma's yard in California. Super tart and the rinds were sweet and yummy. It would be fun to capture young Benjamin eating his first one!😊
Looks like Benjamin is getting very comfortable in front of the camera, look out Laura! 😆 I don’t know how you can tear yourself away from that beautiful Hartley during off season, it’s just another world inside. Love white geraniums, but mine always seem to brown the minute they get wet.
Good morning Laura, Benjamin and GA family! That pot is gorgeous, the kumquat is going to be very happy! Geraniums are beautiful 😍! Have a blessed day everyone 💕🤗💕
For Benjamin's humming. Thanks!
Good morning Laura and Benjamin! Always good to see your helper learning more about what his parents do. The red and white geraniums will be lovely this Spring. Hugs from N.C..❤
Hi Laura! It was fun seeing, and listening to, Benjamin helping you. He's such a sweet boy. The kumquat looks so much better, and so do the geraniums. Thank you so much for sharing!
Thank you for the repotting today. Love your new hairdo. Have a blessed day!! Really looking forward to the Q&A with your Dad. 🪴
Florida girl here. Calamondin is another interesting citrus tree which can be grown in pots. They have small fruit shaped like tangerines with edible rind and are VERY tart. My mother made preserves with them a few times but we didn’t love it. I have a tree in my yard and I use the juice like lemons or limes.
Edit, your Kumquat will probably drop some of those yellow leaves but as long as there was no damage to the wood it will recover.
You are the reason I started geraniums last year!! The most satisfying plant to ever grow!! Plus their tiny leaves are just the cutest.
I’m sorry I was not looking at you and kind of spaced out at the end. What a beautiful view from your planting station in the Hartley! ❤ Have a great day everyone!
Beautiful day, loved joining you and Benjamin potting plants. He is such a good helper! You are making wonderful memories with Benjamin 🥰
Benjamin is such a great helper to you when you are working with plants. It is a joy to see. Love your videos and family.
Good morning, Laura, from Windermere, Florida zone 9b 🇺🇸
I love how you teach Benjamin gardening lessons. And Russell knew Mom was watching him after he showed Cheddar whose boss! Oh, those boys!
Happy Gardening Everyone 👩🌾👍
❤Peggy❤
You’re giving me the itch to start geranium seeds!! I’ve never grown from seed before but I definitely want to try it! Love your Hartley and the flowers that reside there! Benjamin is so adorable and sweet helping mama! Love watching y’all every morning!
Awwhh.. not only was that a lovely relaxing way to spend a while with Benjamin but right at the end the kitties brought an involuntary smile across my face.. Thank you for such blessings xx
❤ your videos provide a daily dose of GOODNESS, stability, and normalcy in this chaotic world. THANK YOU ❤
Hello..Laura and Benjamin. What a wonderful day for the two of you! Benjamin you are such a helper to your Mom. Great job!❤
I love Benjamin singing
The kumquat looks like it belongs in the Hartley. It was a happy event that it is in the Hartley.
We had kumquats growing all over the place growing up in Central Florida. Our middle school even played in the Kumquat Bowl. 😂 love those beautiful geraniums. I could never have that kind of result.
The tall grey flower pot you used for the kumquat is so beautiful 💖 also, I'm anxious to see how big the geraniums grow throughout the season because I never realized how easy it would be to plant them from seeds 🤷👍👏😊
I've never grown geraniums from seed but bought a selection for this spring because of your beautiful plants last season. I cannot wait to get them started!
I'm excited to see that Seedling Transplant tongs. Next time, I think you should be able to make the square hole you're planting in, so it would be the perfect size. Love to see you and the kids enjoying the Hartley!
I am 60 years old and I subscribed to the Highlights magazine when I was you and I loved them! I didn't know they where still around!
I like watching you cleanup before and after your little projects (ex. this and window boxes). It reminds me to do the same. 🌸
It is amazing to think that today, I too repotted twi Nagami Kumquats into larger pots, all the way. On the Southern tip of Africa….
Hey Laura I'm sure you're a great teacher For your kids when it comes to plants.
The flower pot that you put the citrus tree looks beautiful love to see Benjamin really happy helping you God bless you and your family👍😊💜👦🙏🌳🎅🎄🎄
When I was in Corfu Greece I had kumquat jam, ice cream, and liqueur. YUMMY!!!
Awe.......Benjamin in the Hartley, playing and singing!! Precious memories!
It's wonderful to see Laura taking time to teach Benjamin! Here's hoping the kumquat turns green!
I cannot believe that I have had my inpatient's growing for three years now. I just did them up be for the frost gets them, and they live.
I really enjoyed being in the Hartley with you while you were repotting the kumquat and the while geraniums! Thanks for sharing that space with us. Benjamin is sure a great helper!❤❤❤
@RealGardenAnswer_On_Tele.gram. Is this Laura? I honestly don’t know what Telegram is.
Being from south Louisiana we experienced hurricane Ida. Not only did we loose the roof off our camp ( in a gated community) but we lost all our citrus trees. The cumquat tree is what I miss. We still in recovery two years later but we still feel fortunate! I may replant after we finish recovery! These videos are encouraging! The reason we able to be almost done is because my husband retired after 42 years the day of hurricane!
My smile muscles are aching. Benjamin contently sing then helping plant brightens the day. 🎉
I like your peach and red geraniums alot. Also, the little gold bunny in a container garden is cute. With your TLC I'll bet your kumquat will spring back soon. Glad to see you have a diligent worker,Benjamin, who likes to help his Mom>Have a great afternoon, Laura!
I love the geraniums in the Hartley, they just look so European in there . Love them in the tiny pots as well ❤️🎄
Loved hearing Benjamin sing Can't believe how much he's grown and such a good little helper ☺️
I may have to send my littlest Grands Highlights. I loved doing them at the doctor's office!
Lovely and peaceful video with Benjamin singing in the background and helping mom.
Laura , wheels for my potted plants has been a game changer for me.
I just can’t lift those pots any longer.
On another note, my 3 year old potted lemon tree, this year, yielded about 60 lemons. And this is after I thought I had lost it from freezing in my greenhouse last year. I lost all the leaves, I was so bummed , but didn’t give up just like my lemmy!
Kumquats are fantastic and Highlight's magazine is the best. I am 54 and really enjoyed them when i was a kid!
Awesome. Benjamin, the great helper. Loved his humming in the background.
Love the geraniums from seed, the kumquat tree and it’s perfect pretty planter!!!
what a great place to spend time... and i love how Benjamin loves to help and be near you... i love those maverick geraniums.. ordered seeds and have some cute little pots of mine out on the patio (they should be perennial here in southern california)... what a very pleasant afternoon.. hope the kumquat enjoys its beautiful new home!! 🥰❤thanks for the video!! 🥰❤
Love those Geraniums! I’m definitely ordering seeds and putting starters in my sunroom. Thanks Laura, I’ve been dreaming of red Geraniums all week!❤
A suggestion for the dirtlands one of those self heating in ground long greenhouses. You could grow citrus trees in the ground. The process would be fascinating.
Okay, you two! Your video framing is perfection at about 16:12 with Laura potting geranium starts, the angle of the shot, flowers and foliage on each side of her tray, green grass through the windows, and mellow music...
You are mental health vitamins to get us through snowy winter until we can go out and play in our garden!
Wow, those geraniums seedlings are awesome!
Everything is looking spectacular. Merry Christmas Laura. Many blessings always
Meiwa kumquats are the sweetest! I love these tiny fruits 😍
What a beautiful bow pot container. Your plant looks beautiful in it. 🤗
Look forward in spring/summer to see how big your geranium gets. 🎄
Thanks for sharing! Such a beautiful family!
Great video today love your fruit tree looks lovely in the new planter.
Thank you again for your videos. Definite food for the soul.
I enjoyed this video, and you got your helper with you! He’s just learning!
Highlights were my favorite magazine growing up.
I still have some that I purchased for my grandchild.
Very educational!❤❤
IT'S ABOUT TIME! My kumquat is desperately needing a new pot and here in Florida I didn't want to put it in the ground as they grow SO big and I wanted it small and easy to reach! Your video came at the perfect time for me. I've heard that cactus soil is what to use but it just sounded wrong so now to repot my poor neglected plant. LOVE the skin - I peel it with my teeth and throw the sour inside away - YUM that skin!
Those small geraniums are so cute in those pots, and I always love everything from Unique Stone. I have several in my own garden.
ok.... I have the tray and seed mix so I'm going to do it! I'm going to try starting Geraniums from seed. They do look sweet in their little clay pots. Thanks for the inspiration once again.
I’m definitely going to start some geraniums this year! They look so cute!😍
Love this! I am growing a kumquat & it is fruiting for the first time! Great tips 👌
Benjamin has great comedic timing. I love how he jumped in the frame just as Laura was saying "tart and sweet" when describing the kumquat taste. 😄
O how super sweet is Benjamin helping you Laura. I am going to see if I can find geranium seed you inspired me to try them. The cats 😁 just love them.
I have this beauty Laura, gorgeous plant but will outgrow your pots pretty quick. Sweet Benjamin singing away is just a delight ♥️
Awesome family video once again ❤
It is always fun hanging out with you and Benjamine! Every day is a school day every day we learn! I love how you are teaching him about plants and doing things in a simple conversation.
Love the singing in the background
Laura, you inspired me to purchase all of the Maverick Geranium seeds because yours were gorgeous last year. In past years I purchased seed geranium plants in the spring, but the flowers usually aren't that large. I've also saved seeds from those seedling geraniums and have been able to grow them, but like I mentioned, the blooms aren't terribly impressive. Here's to larger more beautiful flowers in 2024.
How nice to work in a beautiful greenhouse, full of lovely plants...potting up more plants, looking out at a gorgeous property. Perfect! You are so fortunate.. Benjamin loves helping you..a budding green thumb. 😁
Good morning! Just a nice simple project to get done. I love geraniums & they were my husband’s favorite too. I think I need some seed starter kits to plant the seeds I already have. You had a great helper too. Good to see Russell and Cheddar.
That pot, with that kumquat is gorgeous!!!!
So fun that you get the have Benjamin hang out with you at work! He is such a sweet boy.
I love the simplicity and beauty in this video with sweet Benjamin and your excitement over the gorgeous, newly potted planter. Your videos cannot be beat! :)
We used to hand out kumquats at our elementary school on fruit sampling days! The kids loved those. And the peeling tastes so sweet!
Great job loved seeing the B Man. Hi ! Benjamin. Such a fantastic helper. He’s getting very tall. Nice video. Thank you so very much for sharing this with us.🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
Looking like a beautiful day in the neighborhood! Even the grass looks fresh. Kumquat plant is new to me. Looks like the Hartley is a picture perfect home for her.
I started Apple blossom pink geraniums from seed kast year. Got a late start in March but they did great and they are thriving in a sunny window niw and I’ll take cuttings in March. 😊
Benjamin is such a joy, he learns so fast and is so helpful. You are a good mom. Love the tree. Love the geraniums, they will be beautiful this Spring. Such a pleasant way to start my day, Thank you and have a great day
I might have to stick my hand into a fresh bag of potting soil once in a while this winter, just watching Laura do it makes me feel better 😃 The Hartley looks so cozy, I enjoy your projects in there, especially with Benjamin humming a tune.
Oh my GOODNESS!!!! I always love your containers!!! That galvanized bowl is beautiful!! I constantly look at thrift stores for cache pots or random vase vessels but I swear your collection amazes me haha you always pull such stunning pieces out! Also I didn’t know kumquats were so small! Such a cool addition to the collection!
OMG!!! Highlights was my favorite and my Mom did the same for her grand girls.
Good morning all have a safe and blessed day ❤🎄
