Something that helped me a ton when I was learning to coleman was the "punching the parrot" trick. Swing out and drive your trailing arm like you're trying to punch a parrot on your leading shoulder. It helps you commit to the shoulder and torso movement, and your hips naturally follow.
Great video bro, it's not easy to explain how to slide. I'd just add two important things that help a lot. - 1: band your knees before standup slides. - 2: most of your weight must be on the front foot.
Man you’re getting great at doing this stuff. I was surprised how Big the evolve 97s are when I got the board and was pleasantly surprised. I’ve got a set of abec 107s to try in the future but the 97 evolves do the job and make a pretty nice cruiser wheel IMO.

I have tried a buddies board with clouds and found them to slide super smooth. No judder or chattering. They are well worn in admittedly with no tread left.
Just my 2 cents: don't slide on an electric board. You're just wearing out your wheels, which reduces grip, something that is even more important on an electric board because you're going (and turning) faster than a regular one. Electric longboard wheels are also not cheap to replace (often costing similar to a regular board anyways) My advice is to just buy a separate regular board for sliding, and don't slide on your electric one.
1: thats the point. to reduce traction. 2: many people (street wheel riders like myself) have more than 1 set of street wheels 3: some street wheels have better grip than others. some are more for sliding . 4: sliding the wheels actually doesnt reduce the grip. in fact, wearing them in, makes it more predictable. 5: if you are having trouble taking a fast turn with street wheels, i suggest practicing a bit more. 6: if u wanna maximize speed while turning, i suggest pnumatics. 7; i disagree ab wheel pricing. i think some are super cheap, some are fair, and some are of course expensive. 8: unfortunately this account isnt about push boards. but thats way easier to do since its such light weight and nimble. 9: a set of loaded orangatang wheels are around 60 bucks. some electric longboarding wheels are cheaper than that. but unfortunately eboarding isnt a cheap sport to begin with. buying a 600-2600 dollar eboard then being worried about cost of wheels just seems like a odd scenario to me 10: lastly and more importantly , street wheels last a VERY long time. i still have my original orangatang orange 85mm wheels. perfectly in tact and still great predictability and grip. probably over 5000 miles on em. so to sum it up, i wouldnt worry about wearing out street wheels. certainly not losing more grip .

When you slide, you aren't doing the exact same amount of heelside and toeside slides, which means that one side of your wheels will always have more wear. As an extension to this, The more you slide, the more cone-shaped your wheels become, which makes the contact area with the road less, which means less traction/grip. Regarding the price, I should really have specified that what I said applies mainly to hub motor boards. 120mm cloudwheels for hub motors cost $230 CAD, which is a very steep price to pay. If you go with a belt drive board and just standard longboard wheels, then it makes a lot more sense if you just get another set; one purely for transportation, and one for sliding/fun.

I run evolve 97's on my Beast board . Changed out the deck and its like no other board . But the wheels made it so awesome . 👌
