Thanks for the review! Yeah there's no way I can get my hands on the limited edition. Well I shouldn't, for the price of that I can get myself another bottle of Spice Tree and try out the Hedonism and the Oak Cross.
This may not get noticed but I've been an MB for years and finally got a bottle of Hedonism. I enjoyed it and loved comparing my tasting notes to your views 6 yrs ago. Also, I love the comment now about only 400 subscribers and this being a total sausage fest... may not have aged well but hilarious... Cheers
Hey guys, pretty new here, but loving the discussions you take. I'm pretty new to serious whisky drinking, and was wondering is there any chance of doing a series of explaining like the basics of whisk(e)y? I know this is generally a more in depth channel, but I love the idea of breaking down some of the stigma that comes from "whisk(e)y snobs" like you did in your episode with the modern rogue. Would love to hear your thoughts, but keep up your content no matter what, it's amazing
Hey guys. I appreciate the Bourbon reviews as I am more of a Bourbon fan. Is it possible to get a review of Noah's Mill? Thanks again for the reviews helps out when I am making my purchases!
So in about a month you guys will be on episode 100. Any special plans? Say a guest reviewer, a special whiskey, maybe a tour of the campus? A detailed walk through of pricing and what to expect if someone, say, plans to take the level 1 class next summer after they graduate from college? Just some thoughts ;)
First I wanna say, I love your videos. This goes back to a previous question I posed, do you guys think longer aging improves the taste, also do you think there is such a thing as over-aging?
Andrew Webb thanks Andrew! Age changes things. Sometimes it can dramatically improve it, and sometimes it doesn't. You can definitely over-age something to the point where the oak wood has a detrimental effect on the whiskey. That more often happens in bourbons vs scotch primarily because of the hotter climate
Hey guys I really enjoy your videos. I'm new to Scotch Whisky. Would it be possible for you both to do a tasting of something generally considered an entry level Scotch like Glenmorangie 10? I'm sure it would be helpful to a greenhorn like myself. Thanks for the great content and have a good weekend.
I'm a Bourbon drinker as a rule of thumb, but wouldn't mind trying a compass box product. Any recommendations on a compass box product under $100. Hedonism retails for $109 at Total Wine
Man, this is a hard one. Maybe Asyla? Or you can always get their sampler and decide which one is to your liking. www.masterofmalt.com/whiskies/compass-box-whisky-in-tubes-whisky/
Get the 5 piece sampler. You may find d that you like the Spaniard more like I did. This is am excellent high dollar whiskey but try to get it less than 100.
Going through and watching all the Compass Box episodes. How in the hell have you not done Flaming Heart?! Daniel even sipped it in, I think, the Phenomenology episode and briefly chubbed up about it. Why are you taunting us with this whisky? I crave knowledge!
With the analytics - have you considered doubling your subscription base by making a channel that’s friendly to women? Say that’s within Whiskey Tribe that’s not two male hosts? Maybe they get to do other content styles too - Showing how you could introduce women to bourbon, whisky, Irish whiskey etc? Seems such a shame to not learn from the success of the April episode. Maybe time to ask your respective wives.
I have truly enjoyed your videos and style of review. Please keep up the good work.
I love that you wear your medal in the videos!!!!
My wife won't let me wear it at home. It's my only choice.
She's a wise woman of taste and style.
Wow came back to this one after finally buying a bottle. Green spot is on spot.
I bought a bottle of Hedonism for me for the holidays. First thing that came to mind, dutch butter cookie. DAMN fine whisky!
You had 400 subscribers in april 2017 and 37k in october?
Nice! and well deserved.
And 245k in December 2019.
@@thankfullynonumbers and 395k in september 2021, well done
Tried some Compass Box spiced whiskey last christmas for the first time. Absolutely gorgeous stuff!!
Thanks for the review!

Why o why is Hedonism so freakin expensive? Should not grain whiskies be cheaper then pure malt? Oh my ...
I live in Dallas and would love to meet y'all. Is there any way I could make a trip down to Austin to have a few drinks, see the vault and hang out?
denton phillip sure! Weekdays are the only time I can do it. Daniel@whiskymarketing.org
This style of grain whisky reminds me of the fresh shavings in a pencil sharpener.
That's actually true. I've never thought of that, but now that you mentioned it, I can totally see it.

I'll have to think through a cool way to do a 3-4 whisky series on basics. That could be cool!
Wizard Academy It would be awesome man, and thanks for taking time to reply to my comment (:

Yes! I'll add this one in.

Nevermind. I just finished the 2016 Masters of Malt advent calendar and saw the last video in it. No tour needed.
According to a friend of mine, while in the marine corps he discovered the perfect companion to whisky, Ho-Hos

Awesome! Thanks a heap!
We started with Glenfiddich 12! ua-cam.com/video/GW20zYHNLTo/v-deo.html
got a bottle of this today and OMG I thought Monkey Shoulder was good...... I have no words for this until I think on it a bit.....
I recently had this in a bar in Seattle and I think it's the best whiskey I've ever had! Can you recommend anything else that's like it?
Glenlivet solara, glenfiddich 15

2.5 years later watching this review...for science
Is this whiskey worth the approx. $100 price tag? Thoughts?
Compass Box Juveniles is on whiskeyexchange.com today reduced to £65 from £95 I would suggest its worth it

Rex destroyed Daniel's comments about the fancy cheese and I lost it.. Also, where is Oak Cross???
Bring back the bag pipe intro.

Says "don't waste a subscription for garbage" yet...largest whiskey channel on youtube. How? Shenanigans!

Why women aren't interested in Whisky??
I'm a lady whisk(e)y drinker who doesn't mind a good sausagefest.

Hi, just want to know if it’s smooth or sharp when you swallow? Cheers from Sydney
