I really appreciated the humble, functional-casual wearing benefits of your review g, a real breath of fresh air compared to the hiker's* review. Arcy's although made lightweight for hikers can fully be appreciated for their functionality in everyday situations. Respect g
A Pirate's Life it's an awesome jacket. i lucked out and got it on sale at the annual rei garage sale. it's overkill for most things but it is my go to jacket for snowboarding and hiking.
Love it. Since I live in rainy, often windy Bergen, I usually combine it with a Bergans windbreaker. Great combo, but it illustrates the importance of having some sort of outer layer available if yours is a chilly, windy climate (like Norway). I reckon it's due to the fleece sides, which are otherwise a wonderful addition for breathability.
Hey man. In the video you said it’s an “XL” but in a few comments you said it’s a “L”. Just curious as to what it is because it looks like that size would fit me perfectly
Hey Jonathan. I'm about 5'11 and 185LBs. I decided to go XL. There is a drawcord around the waist, so it still looks fitted. I can comfortably wear layers both underneath and on top. You're gonna love this jacket man!
Steve Podraza I have both. Nano air is a bit warmer and breather better overall, but less wind resistant from the front. Atom lt fit is also easily better. Haven't tested in very cold conditions yet. Both are good, versatile jackets and I recommend both.
Your review absolutely convinced me because I live in Northern Italy, in an urban environment and I'd like to use this jacket daily for the exact reasons you explained so well. Since I am a skinny boy (172 cm, 60 kilos) I cannot get one of those puffy jackets that I don't like and on the other hand I am tired of heavy coats. This seems a very good solution for me, considering I travel a lot. So my question is: since I will use it with a long sleeve shirt and a jumper, this jacket will be my outer shell. Do you think it will be comfortable at temperatures around 0 Celsius? Thanks a lot in advance
I think it depends on how long you will be outside... with the bottom cinched tight and the pockets zipped, etc. it retains heat pretty well. I wouldnt stay outside in 0c for super long period of time with this jacket though :) There are different jackets for that... For the size and how much compression it offers, its a pretty nice balance
I take it back, previously I wrote a comment how I was wearing it at -6c comfortably - so I think you are good there! (Sorry I am from the US and not super familiar with Celsius)
This is a Large, I could fit a medium for sure, but wanted to have the option of having some layers underneath if necessary. I think it's pretty standard sizing...
I can't deny Arcteryx's craftsmanship, BUT, and that is a CAPITAL BUT, the zipper unzips in high wind by itself and I can't deal with that. Must look elsewhere.
Wow! I've never experienced that, but I have heard another comment about the zipper. I always considered this a midlayer rather than a windbreaker or shell, so I wouldn't be out in the high winds with it ...

Their hard shells tend to run a little small and people say to go a size up. Does anyone here know if the same is true with this jacket?
Best jacket I own, hands down.
I completely agree. I wear it almost daily!
Do you think I could use this as main jacket (no outer shell) at temperatures between 0 and 13° C?
i use the atom lt jacket as a mid layer under the theta ar and i feel invincible to most climates.
excellent pickup.
Theta AR looks nice! I have to try one on!

How does it hold up for snowboarding? Do you wear any layers underneath?
This review was the final one I needed to pull the trigger on this jacket. TOTALLY comfortable as shit! Great review!
Great review. If I hadn't already ordered it earlier tonight, this would've had me convinced.
Are you enjoying it? I wear mine almost every day!! Both as an outer layer or a midlayer depending on the weather. It looks great either way.

Yes, good insight. I would definitely recommend a shell in very rainy conditions. But this gives pretty comfy warmth for the size!
your regular size is an L ? When I tried this on, I had to upsize to a Medium. About to order !
Hey man. In the video you said it’s an “XL” but in a few comments you said it’s a “L”.

To what temperature would you wear the jacket standalone both hot and cold?
What would be the best outer layer ?
nice review. what's your height/weight? trying to figure out if i should go L or XL

A Pirate's Life I'm 5'9" 195 with a 44" chest. Should I go with a large or size up? I normally wear large in all arcteryx jackets. Thank you
Would you go with the hoody or no hoody?
Hoody all the way... Used it today in the rain...
“Urban hip hop style” lol
Anyway Nice review
Have you ever had the Patagonia nano air? I'm torn between those two. I do love Arcteryx

what he said ^^ :)
Hi, which size ?
Hi - this is a size L shown in the video.
A Pirate's Life Thank you bro.

Great review! I did notice that the jacket seems a bit large for you? No offence just wondering if they run big?

What's the outer shell jacket you have there?
Fjallraven Keb Jacket - must have!! - amzn.to/2w5hwKF
just wanted to say great review :)
Thanks man!
Looks like a heavy mid layer.

-6 is nothing...
Haha! You are right sir, but I'm from California, so for me that's mental ;)
