Brilliant channel, I have already learnt so much about audio recording/processing from your videos. You have a habit of making difficult subjects easy to understand, keep up the good work.
Oh you’re very welcome! Though, I’m not sure about it for VO work. It’s ok, but I feel it tries to change too much of the original sound because it tries to reconstruct it. It insists upon itself too much. I like having more control. However, there may be times it works great for that. I found the best application for this is boomed with a high-end mic. Location sound - as evidenced by my lawnmower test. That was truly impressive. I’ll be curious what you think if you download the free trial.
John, Colonel Trautman here: Amazing tech! Have you tested it inside an abandon mine? I’d bet you could fool people into thinking you’re hiding in backyard…..they’d never find you. 😊
@@TheRecordist Of course! Love catching your videos. I mainly bought it for voice over use and obviously it can be used in UA-cam videos as well. I'll definitely check out Revive.
What a day we live in, isn't it? A Director I do lighting for has been magically removing spurious noises, while editing, this year from projects we've been doing, as if by voodoo. He told me he was using an AI program to do so. I couldn't remember the name of it, it may be this one. We constantly wrestle with the sounds of refrigerators, whole house AC, airline jets, trains, and more in the narrative films we shoot. Anywhere within 15 or 20 miles of Cleveland Hopkins Airport, where we often are, reminds us that we are in an approach or take off pattern of the airport every 3 - 5 minutes. This program is a Godsend. Also, SO EASY. One knob. That's my speed. However, instead of rotating the knob the mouse is slid in a straight linear pattern.....to ROTATE the knob. My head can't wrap around that. What is the point of having a knob if we make a motion to move a slide? I know many graphics work this way, and it always baffles my mind. I too thought the same thing as you. Anything the program doesn't eliminate completely can even be covered with room tone, recorded on set. There may even be music in the scene (Almost everything I work on is narrative) that can cover those things. Sorry I've not been commenting. Some videos I've seen and not commented and some I've not seen at all. I've been on projects almost every weekend, and with preparation during the week I have little had little time lately. I am taking November off from filmmaking to catch up on things around the house even. What a wonderful problem to have though. Making connections and lining myself up for when I retire. I'll have the ability to go play and have fun and get paid when I want or need a little more money, or just go and play and have fun whenever I want to.
Hey I totally agree with you! About the knobs, haha. Yes. It’s odd that they work that way. The worst part is not all of them work that way so you have to get used to different plugins doing it differently. This really is a fantastic plugin. Way better than I thought. Not perfect, but best I’ve heard so far! Enjoy your time off!
Awesome, gotta check it out! An interesting phenomnon i noticed when checking similar AI tools was that they are finicky with other languages... For example when i tried to fix bad podcast recordings for hebrew speaking clients, the end result had an american accent which wasnt there before... 😅
Pete Jackson should make a noise removal plugin based on the technology he used for The Beatles' Get Back doc and "Now and Then". By the way, thanks for the amazing videos you've been making!
I have tested the dialog isolate in davinci, but it doesn’t even come close to this most times. Because, that’s what these tools are. Tools. Sometimes one plugin will work better than an another one and vice versa. I have attempted to use the stock Davinci one many times and end up turning it off in favor of other plugins. But once or twice it has worked well. On the whole, dxRevive is far superior, IMO.
You should also check out Acon Digital's Acoustica if you haven't already. Their noise reduction stuff is available as individual plugins too I think I'm just too lazy to go look up the actual names of them. Damn lazy Americans!

Thanks very much! I appreciate the kind words! Cheers!
Really fascinating de-noise option and a great demo! I'm going to have to try this one out for VO. Thank you for bringing it to my attention.

Hahahaha. You know it!
Thank you so much. You've helped my home studio so much!
You’re very welcome! Cheers!
I think I have a great use-case for this plugin that might save one of my work projects. Excited to check it out.
Great! I hope it serves you well!
I’ve been using Clarity VX for some time now and you (as usual) have me intrigued 🤔
I still use Clarity Vx! But sometimes you need something more powerful and this might just do that.
Thanks for the comment!

Awesome stuff, thanks so much! Subscribed :)
Thank you!
thats much better than any denoiser or hum remover i used like Izotope or Acoustica or anything else..pretty amazing!!
It’s really impressive! I can see why they won an Emmy!
This was great thank you. Glad to see I’m not the only one to walk up and mow half of someone’s yard lol.
Hahahaha!
That sounds pretty awesome actually
Yeah. It’s better than I thought it would be.

Hahaha. It sure is!
Did you test the native DaVinci Resolve noise removal? It’s free with the video editor.
I have tested the dialog isolate in davinci, but it doesn’t even come close to this most times. Because, that’s what these tools are. Tools. Sometimes one plugin will work better than an another one and vice versa.

I see that it's compatible with Adobe Premiere. Do you know if it's compatible with Adobe Audition as well? (If that's a dumb question, I apologize.)
Oh yes. It’s compatible with any DAW in the world. 🤓
Don't forget Resolve's tools. Very comparable.
Resolve has some good tools for sure, but this plugin does a lot more than just isolate the dialog.
I’ve been similar work to this by training models for cleaning up AM & FM radio recordings. I can send you a link if you’re interested.
Sure. That would be awesome!

Hahahahah. I actually have all of Acon’s plugins I think. I will be testing them out very soon!
