    100iso foma or kentmere are the first rolls through a new camera for me in northern England, and it's still a good baseline for landscapes.

    Really loving those results you’ve got with it Graham. Need to get on that DSLR scanning bandwagon.

      @graham_white  Рік тому +1

      Thanks! It’s a slightly different look even with the option to choose which scanner it “looks like” I know a lot of people prefer the look of actual scanners and less detail which I get. It just depends on purpose and what your trying to do with your image

    I think you meant Aerocolor not Aerochrome. Aerochrome is the Kodak infrared film. But I love this film as well! really good quality for a much better price.

    The last thing my dad ever gave me is that same Olympus OM2sp. It's in better cosmetic condition than yours but sadly the camera is old and tired now and about a year ago it stopped working. Luckily a few months ago I found a guy who managed to re-assemble it somehow so now I have a unique, double stroke variant...

    • @graham_white
      @graham_white  Рік тому +1

      I love two stroke cameras. ha that is very interesting. At least its working now! I just got it recently with a bit lot/deal but so far I like it. I was a bit surprised its working condition given its poor cosmetic shape.

    what iso are you using to film this youtube video?

  • @addisoncarpenter5675

    Personally like quite grainy film foam pan 400 and anything 110 a little under exposed 👌

      Black and white obviously for style points

    • @graham_white
      @graham_white  Рік тому +1

      It depends on subject matter for me and the look im going for. Sometimes yes for sure, load me up with the grain. But other times I want a bit more crisp.

      @@addisoncarpenter5675 Do it! it's a nice change of pace and makes you think differently when you are working with different settings, color profiles etc. It's the whole reason I shoot film to begin with.

    How would you go about 30 year old expired 100 ISO film?

    • @graham_white
      @graham_white  Рік тому +1

      oof. depending on how it was stored it may be useless. if its been stored in a hot attic etc the temp will most likely have ruined it by now at such a hot temperature. the rule is that you overexpose it by 1 stop for every 10 years its expired. so technically you would need to overexpose that roll by 3 if not 4 stops. But there is really no way to know for sure. If it was stored properly you could possible do less, if it was stored poorly more or again possible useless.

    I find ISO 100 barely usable. Even with 250 or 500, I have to drop my aperture or shutter speed too low on cloudy days. I'm always shooting Kodak 5207/5219 at least pushed 1 if not 2 stops. I don't mind grain so I don't really care about high ISO. I just wish we had cheap ISO 800 film.

    • @graham_white
      @graham_white  Рік тому +2

      totally agree, in cloudy days it is by no means the best. But like I said, south Florida is bright and sunny basically year round so I am in a different arrangement than you. I don't mind some grain, but too much can be distracting for me depending on the image.

    • @upperstringsstudio
      @upperstringsstudio 9 місяців тому +1

      Indeed. I'm in sunny El Paso. So sunny it maddens me. Rarely even many clouds. So as a returning film shooter originally from New Orleans, I'm wondering why the hell I have need for anything over 200 here. 😅 (95% of the time)
