My man really just casually showed off one of the most beautiful maps I've ever seen at the end of the video like it was no big deal lmfao. Massive props to you dude, you're incredible
Ohh my god and I can't figure out how to make a building with 2-3 or 4 floors with windows and doors without brake the whole thing you are a master brother well done
another great tutorial, thanks bridge burner. i really do look foward to the day i can understand these. as with all the tutorials ive seen of your they are all big brain stuff. i think i only have a pea rattling around in there but i am new
question, drag selection at 7:11. What tool is this called, or plugin or something? I've been trying to find what this is for some time. And also btw, you have given me so much more potential with doom builder for the tutorials you have made.
That is the 'paint selection' tool in visual mode. It's not bound to anything by default so you'll have to go into the key config (F5) to bind a key. I've got it bound to one of my mouse side buttons. Paint select in 2d mode is default bound to middle mouse button iirc. Glad they've been of use c:
6:50 Ahem, Mr. Burner...you didn't mention exactly how to create a sine wave with the Draw Grid function. (been messing around trying to figure it out for ages now LOL)
When you are in draw grid mode, open up the docker. It's the triple arrow button in the top right hand corner (not super obvious I know). In there will be a bunch of options and parameters you can change.
@@Bridgeburner56 I just figured it out as you posted the solution!! Yeah I never use the Right Side Panel and usually have it hidden. I can see it has a bunch of useful extra functions so I'll keep it open in the future. Thanks for the prompt reply!! And thanks for the great and very useful tutorial : )
Hey! just wondering, with making the dome profile, when you copy and paste to make the full circle, how do you get it to snap so its prefectly aligned? I try holding shift and rotating but it is impossible to get it at the perfect angle
You can enter the specific angle you want to rotate the selection by in edit mode if you open the docker (top right hand corner, triple arrow button). Also if you work with a 24 sided ellipse the snap rotations will align. Each rotation is 15 degree and 360/24 = 15. The architectural precision tutorial here goes over these kinds of things ua-cam.com/video/PwuFjhtvow8/v-deo.html
Thanks for the tutorial. Fast, intuitive and very useful function. I have only one problem. In the 3d view I see the tilted sectors in real time, while when I do the game test, the sector is gone, I see nothing. How do I solve the problem?
You're probably gonna have to be more specific, but check what renderer gzdoom is set to. Make sure it's in hardware mode. Software rendering does not support sloped 3d floors.
Yeah Zandro doesn't support UDMF slope fields because it's an antiquated port (based on a 6 year old version of gzdoom). You can still make arches but you have to do them manually with plan align
@@Bridgeburner56 Thats why I just do the peer to peer bullshit with a friend. with zandro you cant make stacks or even portals which are so fun for multiplayer
@@Bridgeburner56 using gzdoom with a friend rather, but sadly after version 4.7.1, he cant join my server. Really wish they would add better multiplayer functionality to gzdoom
Do you know if there's a version of gzdoom builder that has the arch tool, 'cause i can't currently run ultimate builder(stuck on an old laptop until my main pc is fixed).
Something must have changes in Ultimage Doombuilder, Slope mode is labeled as (Depricated) in the menu and when I enter Slope mode I don't see the yellow and blue lines.
There is a button on the bottom left of the 3d floor mode window that says "add floor". Press this and it will add a new 3d floor. You can also use the duplicate button on an existing one (right hand side of the 3d floor window next to each 3d floor listed)
@@Bridgeburner56 Is this adding a floor directly above another floor or is not possible in doom? because i'e never playd a wad that had a floor lying over another floor.
@@emilydavids209 It's not possible in the original engine, but lots of source ports allow for ways for room over room effects to be created (3d floors, height transfers, portals etc)
I built some arches you can walk on top of and for some reason, the duplicate geometry for 3dfloors thing doesn't work properly for me. It screws up the original and the copy and undoing doesn't fix the damage. Not sure what I am doing wrong and I'd appreciate some advice.
Hi, just here to say that your UDB tutorials are top notch. Thanks for your time 👍

he did didnt he 😃
Legend! Arch tool is not something I've used so I'm keen for this
woah! this is a game changer, thank you very much for taking the time to make these tutorials !
This will save me a lot of time, now im going to abuse it in every map i'm working on
Got it working yay. These tutorials are the best.
Your tutorials are useful to make good architecture and Whiteboard-test-on-the-expert-category maps.

i see 142k linedefs. holy shit. that map looks absolutly amazing tho

UDB only I'm afraid
Something must have changes in Ultimage Doombuilder, Slope mode is labeled as (Depricated) in the menu and when I enter Slope mode I don't see the yellow and blue lines.
The function you're looking for is "toggle visual sidedef slope picking" (not the clearest name but it is what it is).
how did you rotate the texture at 10:40 ?
Ctrl + A autoaligns the top of the texture to the line nearest to your cursor in 3d view mode.
How would I put multiple 3d floors on top of each other? I'm trying to make a bridge in my map. sorry if you've answered this in another video.
There is a button on the bottom left of the 3d floor mode window that says "add floor". Press this and it will add a new 3d floor. You can also use the duplicate button on an existing one (right hand side of the 3d floor window next to each 3d floor listed)

Godmode
О_о сколько же времени было потрачено на создание такого уровня?

The biggest problem in this tutorial is that author doesn´t say anything about combos or name of function when he creating slopes for examples. 😞
It's one of the first things I talk about @ 1:28
@@Bridgeburner56 I´m sorry, my bad.
I binded the "toggle visual sidedef slope..." thing to shift+w but when I press it It wont show me the highlights on the sides. It just shows nothing.
NVM for anyone wondering I disabled the enhanced rendering by pressing tab, press tab again to enable it and you will see it
