That’s such a cool concept for that episode. To apply Charlie’s speech not only to the Maze, but to Karl’s own moral dilemma; that really opens up a world of possibilities for the future storyline
Okay so like- I don't watch the actual Tales episodes, just the segments afterwards with the InBetween and Other Side- so this is actually the first time I've heard the speech from The Maze that Charlie gives at the end and oh my god the CHILLS I got- Especially at the "until something breaks, and it'll probably be you" with Karl's book already being fucked up from his missing memories. Ugh, I love everything you create T^T
I'd say it's worth watching the full episodes of Tales, some of the characters are really interesting and you get little easter eggs and clues to the larger plot :) Mr. Cycle (charlie's character) had live as well as pre-recorded stuff, some creepy things about how the maze works etc
@@Flanneryschickens I can't edit my original comment due to the heart, and saying this is going to be really pointless because I'll be bombarded with people who won't see this anyway, but I am not a streamer watching person. They really don't appeal to me and I don't know how I got into dsmp in the first place when I watched- maybe like 3 streams? I watch a LOT of clips and animatics, and read recaps and fics in order to get all the lore info, but no matter how many times I sit down with any of the TFTSMP episodes, I can never get into them. Along with that, other than animatics, I'm not exactly interested in the dsmp anymore. I haven't been for about a year, only keeping up with the extremely majour events by pure luck.

One of the nice things about keeping up with dsmp is that animations by fans make it possible without the time and attention commitment to every single stream and every single character played by every member, especially when some of them have multiple characters lol.
Omg that Parallels!!! I didn't even realize how similar those situations were ahhhh that felt like Dream XD was speaking through Charlie to tell Karl about it! Not only was it a lesson for those in the maze, but a double meaning for Karl I'm sure! Amazing animation, kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time! :D
It may be that DreamXD was trying to distract Karl from focusing on escaping the "maze" that is time travel. Cause in the episode, DreamXD lets Karl see the overseers, who both give him reasons to pick their side, with rewards that "may" happen. What Karl hasn't realised, is that time travel causes more problems than it offers solutions, and the best thing for Karl is to stop time travelling and focus on the present.
That part Slimsicle says about the maze and how they've got through it but haven't beaten it, and that they'll redo it over and over again until something snaps, is SO chilling😰
Never realize that Mr. cycles speech matched up perfectly with Karl's situation because of him saying stuff like "You're gonna go back now, like I did, over and over until something breaks" like how Karl always travels to the in-between before he discovered the Other Side and him dying repeatedly in almost every of his time Traveling, getting killed over and over and over until he forgets something or someone or even himself *Cough* Quackity *Cough* and also with "you became so focus on running the rat race, and getting to that cheese, you didn't even think to look for the cracks" with him not immediately noticing that something was off about the in-between everytime he goes there and up until he finds the book that reads "GET TO THE PORTAL" signaling to Karl not to trust the in-between and to escape it before it's too late
I didn't think about this parallel: the maze and the whole lore. It makes so much sence! Also, that drop (0:51 - 0:56) is sick!!! (By the way, can we all agree that Slime's wording is incredible?)
HOLY HECK YOU HAVE COMPLETELY CHANGED MY OUTLOOK ON THIS EPISODE. I never thought of all the parallels with the nature of the maze to Karl's time traveling. The switches between perspectives, from the maze to the Inbetween to the clock realm, it was all marvelous in illustrating the concept. Not to mentoin your sheer artistic prowess. As always, I'm blown away.

Y E S OH MY GODS- -you turned one of my favorite bits of slime voiceacting into what it deserved to be: a part of something incredibly epic. Y’all just made an absolutely epic trailer for the series, and the way you edited the audio (and your character designs, the way Karl’s eyes changed depending on the part of the monologue, the different ranboos- can’t remember the canon names- changing with the “going back,” oh man). I couldn’t even tell it was unfinished until the very end. This is some great work (definitely just got inspired to go do some art myself right now ha), thanks for posting it

charlie's pre-recorded segments from the maze are all absolutely stellar, if you ever find the time they are so so cool I love them all
