Fair enough on the 2 France (Im French) comments. Mona Lisa is just so small compared to most pictures & books you see (but the rest of the Louvre is magnificent so go there anyway). As for the Eiffel Tower online tickets is an absolute must. The caution is that they sell out way in advance. And the vendors .. yeah never felt too comfortable but ignore them & you’ll be fine (no worse than people selling water near the Eiffel Tower in Vegas lol) just watch out for pickpockets in Paris especially in the metro.

They changed how you view the Mona Lisa. We were at The Louvre a few weeks ago, and the set up is different now. You wait in line like at an amusement park, and then they send you up in front of the Mona Lisa in groups of twenty. You get 30 seconds in front of the painting, which is a short time. However, no one is in front of you when you view the painting. You are just feet away from her. This is a much better system than before. No “fighting” to try to get close.
When I went to Paris, I only went to the Mona Lisa to prove to myself that I managed it (i hate crowds) and I got a selfie. It was a great achievement but I didn't care much for the painting. Infact you need only turn 180 degrees and see a far better painting. Anyone who goes to the Louvre only to see ML is missing out on some absolutely amazing art, honestly. As for the Eiffel tower I agree re. The souvenir sellers, and they can be quite aggressive - I was stood in the Tuileries garden waiting for my boyfriend and this guy kept harassing me to buy a keychain and I had to quite firmly say 'leave me alone' before he got the message. Also at the sacre coeur we were sat on some steps looking at the amazing view of Paris and there were guys selling cans of carlsberg from a multipack and they wouldn't leave people alone. They spoiled what would otherwise have been s really amazing and tranquil experience, and for that I hated them haha
London bridge is not a tourist attraction. US Brits don't consider it one. Foreigners consider it an attraction because of the nursery rhyme and also because they confuse it for Tower Bridge.
The problem is that you think everything should be like Disney entertainment, in Europe is about the history, not about how beautiful or funny the experience is
Really enjoyed watching this live stream, sorry I couldn't watch it live, ( east coaster ) . I totally agree with you the Mona Lisa was very underwhelming and the best views of the Eiffel Tower are from a distance. Thanks Chris
Pretty much everything you said was disappointing was because of lines or people. Everyone should know by now tourist destinations have long lines. Forget the lines. The real question is, once you get through the line.. is it worth seeing or not? To me a lot of the things on this list I also experienced lines. But once I got to the point of going, it was amazing. It is unfair to say disregard something just because of lines..
Absolutely agree. Places like the Vatican hold enormous cultural, historical and religious significance for tens of millions of people around the world. If you understand that, you'll understand why there is a line.
I went to the Haufbrauhaus as a solo traveller. They sat me in a booth and a group from France came to sit with me. We chatted for a while, they shared their snacks and I made some new friends. Only good memories of the Haufbrauhaus.
I have been travelling in Europe for 3 decades. And never have I seen a traveller so right about every place he visit. Respect. Especially Brussels. Which is really not worth it.
Hey Chris - Thanks for sharing wonderdul videos. I had a great and an unforgettable holiday last year in Hawai & west coast , USA on basis of your videos. After watching all your videos of Europe i am really confused . I am confused in terms of if i get same fun like USA or its different . And which countries u adivce in Europe which has a similar fun like USA.
Wow! I thought you lived in Japan because of all the Japan vids. Lol. Also, you've done alot of Japan vids as BPS. You're so knowledgeable about it...that was just my assumption that you had emigrated to Japan. Had no idea you were I the US OF A. Anyway, love ALL your vids.
I thought the same things about Venice, crowded, dirty, expensive. But my cousin studies there and took me on a tour in the non tourist Venice and It was cheap, free of tourist and Amazing.
I love Venice. I've been there a few times as it is not that far from my home. Yes, the mass of people can be bad. Showing a picture of Venice when some regatta happened where there are lots of boats is like showing a shop at Black Friday. But there are also quiet places. I like to just use the vaporettos for a good (and cheap) sightseeing trip. And if you go a bit away from the main attractions you can get good food that is not so expensive. And this city is just something special hardly compared to any other city.
Very good video. I am from Europe, this video is very accurate. I would say italy is the best country to visit, why , because it is beatyfull the food is delicies the people are nice. French an danish people are not friendly at All.
Your video is very interesting. I went to the Eiffel Tower one night I was in Paris just 3 days so I was walking nearby and said, ok, let's try. there was almost no time for them to close it was around 10 pm I think, and even then, there was a line to buy tickets and go up, so I finally gave up. alot of people, anytime. but well, I imagine that it is essential to go to Paris and climb the Eiffel Tower. I think the Montparnasse tower has fewer queues and the views are great. I also went up there, though years ago, and I loved seeing the Eiffel tower from there. Regarding the Sagrada Familia, it is wonderful both inside and outside, you're right, it is amazing, like everything Gaudí designed. Your video is great, like all your videos. I congratulate you, best regards ;-)
3 years late to this feed - Former Resident of West Berlin 81-83 / 85-88 The real American portion of Checkpoint Charlie is located between the old US Army Outpost Movie Theater & the former American Army Library on Clayallee in what was the American Sector - right up the road from Clay Headquarters complex (former SS headquarters). The museum Haus am Checkpoint Charlie pictured in the background is one of the best and most interesting museums I have ever been too - it is dedicated to the successful and those that unfortunately were NOT successful in their attempts to cross from the East - well worth your time. Having crossed Checkpoint Charlie several times in the 80's was a memorable experience!
Checkpoint Charlie is more about the sentimental reason and the history of Germany being split for like half a century. Not about being a money grabbing tourist attraction...
Future videos? Tips on shopping and food for Europe or even Las Vegas. I love those Fiesta candies in Italy, like Twinkies with orange flavored booze covered with chocolate and Lindt Swiss chocolate. Wine all over France and Portugal. Beer in Germany and candy. Hoping to find Fiesta when I get to Milan in November. I guess it would be cheaper to order them on the internet but not as much fun to shop in local grocery stores in Europe just to see what they have. Sometimes the food is better from the market than a restaurant because there are strict food regulations in the EU, no chemicals and no ingredients like sodium benzoate or roundup, only food. yep downer moment Erin Brockovich explains roundup is everywhere in parts per million. But only in the USA.
i had a wonderful time in Paris! Pack your walking shoes its the best way to see the city, Also visit off season (april) never stood in line for Mona Lisa just enjoyed the grand painting on the opposite wall😀
Though you didnt do cities, for me was a City, Bratislava Slovakia. Maybe its was cause I was in Vienna just before, or Budapest right after it was just the low point of my first European trip.
Have you seen the movie "Eurotrip"? There's a great line in that movie where they say "It is good you come to Bratislava in summer.. because it winter it can be quite depressing!"
They're so proud of their mermaid in Copenhagen. I took a Segway there so it was a quick, easy and pleasant way to see it. Someone mentioned Bruges is better than Brussels and they left out the "r" so I thought I'd chime in.
I would have said the Coliseum in Rome is extremely disappointing. It seemed like the inside was just a bunch of rubble. Also, as another comment mentioned, you can bypass the lines at the Vatican by booking a tour. When I was on a tour we used a separate line that was very short :)
We were there late August. Yes, the Vatican lines were insane, but we didn't want to go there. The basilica was only about ten minutes or less. But for the top of the basilica it was about 30min. It's a climb but worth it.
The Roman Coliseum. I’ve been reading about the thousands of disappointed people who can’t get tickets in 2023. If they only knew how disappointing this “attraction” is, they’d be glad they saved their money. You walk around in a circle simply looking over into a hole in the ground. It’s not worth it…not w all the hoops they make u jump through to get in. Skip it.
Piccadilly Circus may seems small when you arrive from NYC, it's still impressive from a tinier country. If you are looking for exoticism, try to go there on a special day (Halloween), or days (Christmas). You might be surprised by the ambiance. It's a bit of a general rule in London.
I remember seeing the Mona Lisa as a kid. So many people, who were simply not moving out of the way..couldn't see a thing. Got on my hands and knees and crawled to the front to get a view. Once you actually get to see it, it is breathtaking. Shame they still haven't done any crowd control and I'm 51 now so it's been a LONG time since I visited. Venice is amazing...but book skip the line tickets!
Mona Lisa - people who love art - super feeling - excitement mixed with disappointment that the picture is so small. Eiffel Tower -- my tip -> choose a line to stairs - a few times shorter and goes faster + you will work on your butt, you can rest on your way up and take beautiful and amazing pictures and you won't regret the view!!!!! The best in whole Paris... so if you want to miss it.. I highly recommend this point. Brussels - yeah - nothing to see, no attractions, only armed soldiers Mermaid - to go so far to see nothing... I agree. Venice - yeah, I was a little bit disappointing with smelt and crowds but it is beautiful city to enjoy the views. Gondolas - overrated and horribly expensive - not worth of price. Colosseum - nice place if you are interested in ancient history, nothing inside - stones and bricks. Rome is beautiful - go to some square and eat ice-creams - better spent money. Vatican - for religious people not for kids and loud people but for very patient ones. We were standing a few hours in 42 degrees in long trousers and sleeves .. unforgettable ;) London Bridge - nothing to see, go to Tower Bridge for pics Kensington Place - nothing special, custom bigger building Piccadilly - I expected who knows what - disappointment - better at night - 10 min and Soho and Trafalgar Square behind the corner Guards at Buckingham Place - I lost my patient to wait in the crowds. Too boring for me. London Eye - expensive and not the best view... but this year is 20 years celebration...so maybe this time I will throw my money in mud.. I have to think it over cause I have prepared better point of views for free Pisa - I have never been and I am not going to waste my time. Sagrada Familia - well... for me very interesting architecture, where else can you find such building? It is huge and amazing. Berlin - thank you, I will avoid. Nothing interesting but dangerous Naples - I've never been and I am not sure if there is anything interesting enough to get me there. Too much trash = stinky holidays - not for me.
The Pisa Tower is absolutely no disappointment. The whole place where it is located is really great. Great architecture and a really many things to see. And the old town nearby is nice, too. I really can´t understand that.
I tend to be a checklist traveler, so I have to force myself to be ok with not seeing something. I've seen many famous paintings in person and most left me in awe. I would see the Mona Lisa if I had the opportunity.
I'm Belgian and I'm always sad to see Manneken Pis in those "most disappointing attractions" posts... It does make me wonder, what ARE tourists expecting to see when they come to see Manneken Pis?! Please let me know, I'm honestly curious :) Yes it is small, yes it is on a small corner. But as a Belgian I'm always happy to go and check on him, because he has a collection of beautiful costumes, and it's always fun to go and see him in a new costume that I haven't seen before. He even has a museum where you can see all his costumes exposed! Manneken Pis is a symbol of Belgium, not really for the humour for me, it's the story of a small baby boy who peed on the flame of a bomb and saved the city of Brussels (something like that, I don't remember the details). It is small just as Belgium is small, and I like it that way ♥ And concerning Brussels : I think the Grand Place is gorgeous, but I'd also recommend checking where Art Nouveau buildings are, there are beautiful places in Brussels!
@@YellowProductions Please do! :D Oh waw, I was checking the info of the museum to share it with you, and I discovered that you can check all of the 1000+ costumes directly on their website! Here you are :D www.mannekenpis.brussels/en/home#garde-robe
Dear Chris, you reacted to my comment about driving in Naples. I want to add that my impression was the city now is cleaner then in 2011. We did a hop on hop of tour that was very agreable. The food was really good and cheap(meal with wine 15€ pp), [i am from Amsterdam], the people everywhere very polite and attentive. I work in tourism myself and if you make an effort to contact my experience is people treat you with extra care. About Venice, we once came back there on a cruise. They harboured close to the railstation. We took a watertaxi, oldfashioned wooden ones, for 8€ pp and made a whole trip through the Lagoon with 3 or 4 stops before stepping off at San Marco's Square. The gondles are a scam and we didnt like walking. Take a small regular boat and see Venice from the water
Best time for Venice is March when carnival is over and October/November. And you eat in the restaurants that are off street e.g. at the arsenal. The you take the Gondola from the tourist hotspots at the top of the season, you pay 80 €. In March you can negotiate the prices down to 30€ for an hour and then you tip them 20€.
I went to the colosseum n Vatican this winter break n I think as long as u get ur tickets online and make your reservations/tours in the morning, the lines weren’t crazy at all!
Just now watched this video ,I've been to and seen all 11 attractions mentioned. However, I love love love Venice, stayed in Castello District for a week (one of the 3 times) . We went to vespers in the evening with the locals, no lines, followed gondoliers to see where they ate and cicchetti bars for happy hour food. Now we book Vatican tickets ahead on line. No lines in the 70's (they gave you rain coats to wear if skirts too short. Borghese Gallery favorite in Rome
Most major European Cities offer visitor discount cards that can be bought at the tourist offices. The cards often offer discounted access to museums and monuments like the Eiffel Tower, the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam and so forth. When my mom and I went to Paris in 2008, we saw the lines at the Eiffel Tower, I took a picture of her standing under the tower with the lines behind her and she took a picture of me in front of the flagship Louis Vouitton store on the Champs Elysses, and that was enough for me given we both had been in the LV store in Beverly Hills a few months before and walked right out.
The Mona Lisa is small & you can’t get near it. The Louvres is awesome though. The Rodins & Winged Victory were impressive. My first trip to Paris was in 1989 & it was the 100th anniversary of the Eiffel Tower, which was spectacular. It was lit up with a banner the entire length of the tower.
The song is about the MEDIEVAL London Bridge...which fell down. It had 19 arches, shops, houses, etc. It is not there anymore...duh! Tower Bridge is in a completely different spot.
There’s a simple solution for the lines at the Vatican: get a tour guide. They’re extremely cheap and they use a different entrance, so you can skip the lines.
Yellow Productions I see multiple people already made that suggestion. Woops. ;) It works for other locations too, especially in Rome, but we used this for several sights in Lisbon, Paris and Barcelona too.
I’m so sad about Brussels. I loved it there. The Square was amazing. The waffle factory was really good. And I liked that Atom structure. Maybe it’s because I only did a day of the best. But I liked it
I went to Portugal, Spain, and France in October of 2014. beautiful weather. anyone who goes to Paris has to go to their markets. it makes you feel French
I’m surprised Greece wasn’t included in this list; my fiancé and I set a honeymoon cruise for Greece and Italy. Now I know to steer clear from most of Naples, but I was curious of any overrated parts of Greece.
Hi Chris, I am Venetian from Venice Italy, unfortunately, many restaurants just want to take advantage of tourists, like in any other part of Europe ... the rule is always to avoid restaurants nearby the main attractions. On top of that, most of the Gondolas are just for tourists and the Gondola Man wants to get as much money as possible, in particular from people who do not speak Italian / Venetian and are not local... I called it the effect of the tourist industry...
only been to Paris and London but in general I was not really disappointed by anything.. i just took everything in stride and appreciated things for what they were.. and I got a kick out of seeing the fam having fun, I think that makes a big diff on one's experience too. Tbh what I saw exceeded my expectations.
I think the best way to see Copenhagen is by walking around on foot, and if you do so, the Little Mermaid isn’t even out of the way - it’s just at one end of the part of the city you’d be exploring, anyway.
LOL the real london bridge of 1831 in the black and white photo is in Arizona Lake Havasu on the Colorado river. It was moved there in the 1970s by the McCulloch chain saw owner. I saw it in 1978. So it still exists but its closer to San Diego than you think! And it's only the exterior pieces of the original stone bridge which was sinking into the Thames 'temms' river which is why is was replaced in London with an ugly new bridge. I thought everyone knew this but HAHAHA. see the wiki page below.
I've heard people say that visiting the inside of Neuschwanstein Castle is a huge tourist trap. I didn't go in but saw it from outside, an amazing looking castle. I also found Checkpoint Charlie to be kitschy but enjoyable (although I love overly cheesy things like that). Leicester Square is another spot in London considered to be a huge trap, although it is near a lot of the live theater so it has that going for it.
It is true. Neuschwanstein is not an old castle from the Middle Ages. I'm from Germany and I know a lot more old & traditional castles, e.g. Wartburg in Thuringia (East Germany). Museums are often integrated into the other old castles, where you can see what people worn back then.
Have not been to Neuschwannstein castle but I have read that Mad King Ludwig who built it was killed by the prime minister because Ludwig wanted to dissolve or eliminate the german government. Also read that Ludwig liked ordinary people like the castle construction workers more than the government ministers. Also heard that the castle has advanced engineering to bring the dinner table up from the kitchen on a elevator platform so that the king wouldn't have any servants in the dining room. He apparently did not like the servants around him or talking behind his back. Allegedly Ludwig was bisexual, not sure about that but if so, you would not want anyone seeing your partner, at least in those days so that desire for secrecy would make sense. Either way he was supposedly big on keeping his private life private. LOL tmi? maybe
I was disappointed in Sicily. Taormina was really nice, but unfortunately we went to Catania. Graffity, rubbish, scary people and I was realy disappointed how people don't give a crap to save their heritage, their beautiful buildings, their culture etc. Never in my life had such a bumpy road too. In the other hand Taormina was really a diamond there.
Venice was the place where we had the best food. Just go where Italian's go ☺️... And I've got incredible addresses for restaurants in Paris if needed.
The Manneken Pis may be the most famous single attraction in Brussels but the Grand Square is really the most 'touristy' place there. They have a lot of great bars and restaurants but for sightseeing, yeah theres nothing much in Brussels really.
It seems like , if it isn't big then it is a disappointment. Sometimes little things have an wealth of history. Like manneke pis. This statue has different legends like putting out a bomb at the siege of Brussels.
In about 1970 I went to the Colosseum the first day I was in Rome. I was the only person in line to buy a ticket. The old lady ticket seller said a ticket to go inside was 300 lira..300 LIRA!!!....I turned to walk away, then realised that 300 lira was about 30 cents...so I bought a 30 cent ticket and went inside. In those days there were no lines to get in anywhere.
We were there 8 years ago in late august and had about 3 people before us to get tickets. I liked it. Someone called it old rubble but that can be said for many old places. And they have history from centuries or millenia. But you need to really look and imagine things. That's not an amusement park with animatronics.
My 2 Cents (as a European (who somehow prefers to go overseas): - Never saw the Mona Lisa, but heard that a lot - I enjoyed the Eiffel Tower from the ground, but never bothered to go up; you point out why quite perfectly. Bit Paris as a whole is ok (but not much more imho) - Mannekin Pis is ok, when you knew what to expect and include it in a „pis tour“ (there is also a girl and a dog in Brussels - they really like pissing, I guess); also: I think Brussels is ok for a weekend trip, nice parks, museums, fries and pastries - Little Mermaid is disappointing, but that’s about all the disappointment CPH has to offer, otherwise, I totally love the city. Clean, relaxed, walkable (or bike-able), lots of water. It’s just nice to be there - Venice - still on my to do list (or maybe not?) - Rome - never been there, but particularly interested tbh - Vatican - never been there, no intentions to change that - London Bridge? Never knew it was an attraction. London as such is a city I love for sure - Piccadilly Circus - guess you’re right (even if not compared to Time Square) - London Eye - didn’t go there; rightfully so, I guess
I think the problem is the movies over hyped some places in europe. When I saw the mona lisa I was able to get a closer look but that was many years ago before the movies made it too popular. A lot of people are not really interested in the painting or the place itself, they are just there cause it's popular and they want to have a selfie with it. Its pathetic. Half of them probably dont even know who painted it.
Lists like this are made by people who don't plan what they want to see. Didn't like the Mona Lisa, did you just ignore all the other art in the Louvre? Eiffel Tower? Try going up at night as the lights of the city come on. Venice? Take a water taxi to Bruano or enjoy the history. Do a little research, make a plan, find alternatives. Big deal if everything isn't a wow.
The Mona Lisa experience for me was spoiled by really aggressive and rude tourists that hail from this one country and wherever I went in europe unfortunately it was the same story, rude, loud, dirty, not following rules but hey they spend tons and tons of money totally emptying Gucci stores so they are welcome everywhere....The worst part is because I'm of the same ethnicity people think I'm the same and I get really bad service.
Europe never disappoints me - wonderful people, incredible architecture, incredible history, incredible museums, incredible food - you just gotta come in with the right attitude
I wouldn't say that Europe has incredible food EVERYWHERE.. pickled herring in Sweden isn't really my thing :)

The Eiffel Tower (like most major tourist attractions) is about being disciplined and getting there early in the morning. Far from disappointing.
The Eiffel Tower just looks like a high voltage power pylon.
The most disappointing thing in Europe , both aesthetically, service and to be fair because the tourists have ruined it
True enough. Also true for nature spectacles. 4 am often provides views free from tourists other than yourself.

I loved Venice, I went in November when it wasn't crowded at all but very cold.
The London Bridge mentioned in the song was bought and moved to Arizona quite a few years ago.
Have you ever been to San Sebastian in Spain? such
beautiful beaches
Very good video. I am from Europe, this video is very accurate. I would say italy is the best country to visit, why , because it is beatyfull the food is delicies the people are nice. French an danish people are not friendly at All.
Got a laugh out of your Naples video insert! Hope the trash problem has improved by 2023
Hah. I hope it has too!
Thanks Santi!
Would love a video on best European cities to visit during the summer time June-Augusts in terms of least amount of tourism and affordability.
Amsterdam....is great in the summer, if not to hott.
The video about Naples trash, is it shot today?
2011
It was a joke. Here in Italy we ear every day in the news about Naples trash and now even Rome. :-(
Ah.. glad to know my video is timeless :)
Seen Eifel Tower from a river cruise nearby €24 with a free drink included.Great views seen it from the rooftop view at Lafeyette department store.
Checkpoint Charlie is more about the sentimental reason and the history of Germany being split for like half a century. Not about being a money grabbing tourist attraction...
What parts of rural USA would you recommend?
I think Utah has alot of beautiful scenery
Thank goodness, only food. (I'm from Germany) The food in restaurants is not bad, because regulations are the same. Maybe, I didn't get it. O:-)
i had a wonderful time in Paris!
I got the same question when I ordered water in Poland. With gas or not with gas.
They're so proud of their mermaid in Copenhagen. I took a Segway there so it was a quick, easy and pleasant way to see it. Someone mentioned Bruges is better than Brussels and they left out the "r" so I thought I'd chime in.
Eiffel Tower...EXACTLY!!!
I enjoyed the Eiffel Tower but we were with a tour group with "skip the line" passes.
I would have said the Coliseum in Rome is extremely disappointing. It seemed like the inside was just a bunch of rubble. Also, as another comment mentioned, you can bypass the lines at the Vatican by booking a tour. When I was on a tour we used a separate line that was very short :)
Thanks for the tip on the Vatican tour Chris!
I was quite underwhelmed with London.... but I'm definitely with you at 37:10 with regards to Oxford, the university town.
Oxford is pretty awesome indeed
why is the live chat replay not available
Because I edit out the 5 minute intro part from the archive.. and when I do that apparently UA-cam drops the live chat replay.
Hah! Great method to get up to the front :)
Brussels - yeah - nothing to see, no attractions, only armed soldiers
Mermaid - to go so far to see nothing...
We were standing a few hours in 42 degrees in long trousers and sleeves .. unforgettable ;)
London Bridge - nothing to see, go to Tower Bridge for pics
Kensington Place - nothing special, custom bigger building
Piccadilly - I expected who knows what - disappointment - better at night - 10 min and Soho and Trafalgar Square behind the corner
Guards at Buckingham Place - I lost my patient to wait in the crowds. Too boring for me.
London Eye - expensive and not the best view... but this year is 20 years celebration...so maybe this time I will throw my money in mud.. I have to think it over cause I have prepared better point of views for free
Pisa - I have never been and I am not going to waste my time.
Sagrada Familia - well... for me very interesting architecture, where else can you find such building? It is huge and amazing.
Berlin - thank you, I will avoid. Nothing interesting but dangerous
Naples - I've never been and I am not sure if there is anything interesting enough to get me there. Too much trash = stinky holidays - not for me.
Thanks for the extra tips!
Please let me know, I'm honestly curious :)
Yes it is small, yes it is on a small corner.
It is small just as Belgium is small, and I like it that way ♥
And concerning Brussels : I think the Grand Place is gorgeous, but I'd also recommend checking where Art Nouveau buildings are, there are beautiful places in Brussels!
I'll have to check out his museum next time :)
@@YellowProductions Please do! :D
Oh waw, I was checking the info of the museum to share it with you, and I discovered that you can check all of the 1000+ costumes directly on their website! Here you are :D

We took a watertaxi, oldfashioned wooden ones, for 8€ pp and made a whole trip
through the Lagoon with 3 or 4 stops before stepping off at San Marco's Square.
The gondles are a scam and we didnt like walking. Take a small regular boat and see Venice from the water
Thanks for the update on Naples cleanliness. That's great to hear! And yes I do agree about the food on Naples. It's fantastic and cheap!
That are you saying during the changing of the guard? All I can hear is the band. Except for that, your videos are great.
I really enjoyed Fortnum & Mason in London. It's a good place to buy souvenirs.
Did you like Norway
I did!
Thanks for the tip!
Burrano was one of the highlights of Venice! Went to Murano as well - Burrano is better if you can only go to one.
Laughing so much at your commentary drowned out by The Changing of the Guard! Just like I've said before - you're just like listening to a friend!!
just seen this we are going next month so time will tell never been there before
Haufbrahaus?! lol Hofbräuhaus!!! 😂
Can't believe you haven't visited Scotland! You need to remedy that 🥰
I sure do Angela!
Hylarisch this vlogg.....and so honnest and right...
The Mona Lisa is small & you can’t get near it. The Louvres is awesome though. The Rodins & Winged Victory were impressive. My first trip to Paris was in 1989 & it was the 100th anniversary of the Eiffel Tower, which was spectacular. It was lit up with a banner the entire length of the tower.
the most underwhelming site for me was the leaning tower of Pisa, walked up, saw it, everybody doing the pose & was ready to leave almost immediately.
I was thrilled to the marrow when I viewed the Mona Lisa.
Great tip
Yellow Productions I see multiple people already made that suggestion. Woops. ;)
It works for other locations too, especially in Rome, but we used this for several sights in Lisbon, Paris and Barcelona too.
My grandad did marble work on London Bridge and I'm really proud of that
Neat Gemma!
I’m so sad about Brussels. I loved it there. The Square was amazing. The waffle factory was really good. And I liked that Atom structure. Maybe it’s because I only did a day of the best. But I liked it
Switzerland is not in the list? I dont kow if i‘m happy or disapointed... 🤪 greetings from Switzerland.
I enjoyed Switzerland.. Zurich was a bit boring.. but we loved visiting Wengen, the Jungfrau, and Lucerne.
Thanks for the Venetian perspective Guilia!
only been to Paris and London but in general I was not really disappointed by anything.. i just took everything in stride and appreciated things for what they were.. and I got a kick out of seeing the fam having fun, I think that makes a big diff on one's experience too. Tbh what I saw exceeded my expectations.
I think the best way to see Copenhagen is by walking around on foot, and if you do so, the Little Mermaid isn’t even out of the way - it’s just at one end of the part of the city you’d be exploring, anyway.
Exactly. I did it by bike and it was only some minutes from the palaces. Google says 14min by foot from Amalienborg.
For me is the Mona Lisa. The arts was dark and small, tons of tourists pack with So many phone Camera.
Will you accept Curious George into your productions?
LOL the real london bridge of 1831 in the black and white photo is in Arizona Lake Havasu on the Colorado river. It was moved there in the 1970s by the McCulloch chain saw owner. I saw it in 1978. So it still exists but its closer to San Diego than you think! And it's only the exterior pieces of the original stone bridge which was sinking into the Thames 'temms' river which is why is was replaced in London with an ugly new bridge. I thought everyone knew this but HAHAHA. see the wiki page below.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/London_Bridge_(Lake_Havasu_City)
okay now a Video About 11 Places in Europe the don't dissapoint!
Should check out Blackpool..
LOL tmi? maybe
Your video reminds me of a White House tour many years ago. More than one person after exiting said "That's it?"
Hah.. I'll make sure to include 22 disappointing attractions next time :)
Omg!! You need to go to Scotland. Edinburgh is beautiful and the Highlands are breath taking!
In the other hand Taormina was really a diamond there.
agree on eiffel, monalisa, pisa, and manneken
When i was in Paris a boat tour was the closest I wanted to get to the Eiffel Tower
Venice was the place where we had the best food. Just go where Italian's go ☺️... And I've got incredible addresses for restaurants in Paris if needed.
Go where the locals go is always a good tip
Lisbon is supposedly one of the sunniest cities in europe. we had a flash flood
The Manneken Pis may be the most famous single attraction in Brussels but the Grand Square is really the most 'touristy' place there. They have a lot of great bars and restaurants but for sightseeing, yeah theres nothing much in Brussels really.
We bought ticket online for iffle Tower, no problem for us.
Mona Lisa you see at that museum is a replica, the real one is in the security vault.🎉
Rome in summer is out of a tourist season, and nobody from italy is there
It seems like , if it isn't big then it is a disappointment. Sometimes little things have an wealth of history. Like manneke pis. This statue has different legends like putting out a bomb at the siege of Brussels.
You need to really say "pees". Americans hate to use the word "toilet" and make it into "restroom" and here you are with your blatant "piss"ing!
Nice!
We were there 8 years ago in late august and had about 3 people before us to get tickets. I liked it. Someone called it old rubble but that can be said for many old places. And they have history from centuries or millenia. But you need to really look and imagine things. That's not an amusement park with animatronics.
Times have changed. Now, u can’t buy a tkt at the Colosseum. Only online & only 30 days prior w an exact entry time.
The best castle is Warwick Castle! The one in Germany was never finished & it’s a long walk from the parking lot.
My 2 Cents (as a European (who somehow prefers to go overseas):
- Never saw the Mona Lisa, but heard that a lot
- I enjoyed the Eiffel Tower from the ground, but never bothered to go up; you point out why quite perfectly. Bit Paris as a whole is ok (but not much more imho)
- Mannekin Pis is ok, when you knew what to expect and include it in a „pis tour“ (there is also a girl and a dog in Brussels - they really like pissing, I guess); also: I think Brussels is ok for a weekend trip, nice parks, museums, fries and pastries
- Little Mermaid is disappointing, but that’s about all the disappointment CPH has to offer, otherwise, I totally love the city. Clean, relaxed, walkable (or bike-able), lots of water. It’s just nice to be there
- Venice - still on my to do list (or maybe not?)
- Rome - never been there, but particularly interested tbh
- Vatican - never been there, no intentions to change that
- London Bridge? Never knew it was an attraction. London as such is a city I love for sure
- Piccadilly Circus - guess you’re right (even if not compared to Time Square)
- London Eye - didn’t go there; rightfully so, I guess
London bridge only exists so you can take pictures of Tower bridge :)
Great points!
CHINESE?
My guess is Chinese.
