Growing up in Germany (Dinkelsbuehl, Bavaria), the Christmas Tree would go up Christmas Eve Morning, but the Living Rooms would be locked, the Kids could not see the Tree until Christmas Eve Evening. And yes, Christmas Eve was the only time of the Year that my Father would set foot in a Church, while Mom stayed home & cooked. I remember the magic moment when we came home from Church and I got to see the Tree & all the Gifts ...
We arw so blessed that our forefathers came from Germany and Austria as missionaries to South Africa. There is nothing like the way we celebrate Weinachten! I can't find a video on UA-cam about the way Weinachten should be celebrated. It's all about Jesus. And we give each other gifts.

Ich war jetzt ein Jahr lang auf Reisen und ziehe bald in eine eigene Wohnung an einem sehr schönen Ort, ich sehne mich nach Heimeligkeit und Gemütlichkeit. Hinzu kommt dass ich die letzten beiden Jahre den kompletten Herbst und die Adventszeit im Ausland war und jetzt darf ich all das Zuhause erleben, wie die heimischen Wälder ihre Farben verändern und dann wiede wenn ich eingezogen bin Alles schön weihnachtlich dekorieren 😍 sooo glücklich 💖🎄✨
Even if me and my friends are atheists we love celebrating Christmas because it's tradition and it brings us together. And who doesn't like presents, a hot cup of Glühwein and Christmas food? :3
