Great video. I am from a Swedish-American family and we have been doing a julbord since my great grandparents came to Chicago in the 1880s. Sadly, my parents are too old to prepare it anymore and many of us have moved away. But in Virginia where we live I still do one for my wife and two sons (named Gunnar and Ture). I started the gravadlax a few days a go and was up early making limpa bread, meatballs, ham, shrimp, and all the rest. I did not go to the trouble of making potatiskorv this year, but did get lingo from Ikea. God jul!
Wow! So cool that the tradition has gone down in traditions in America. Do you have the julbord on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day? I love hearing stories like these!! Thank you for sharing. God jul! 🎄
This was the best video describing julbord for people who doesn't know what it is or have experienced it. Perfect fluent in both English and Swedish which makes it a joy to listen to and watching at the same time. I'm so impressed by this video and want to share it with the rest of the world. Good job! 👍👍👍👍👍
Vegetable is a culinary term rather than a botanical one. So even though potatoes are plants, they are usually eaten as a starchy carbohydrate and so many countries (including the UK) don’t count them towards your vegetable intake. Still full of lots of nutrients though 🙂
Love this so much. I wish I'd been in Sweden a little later to be around for all the jul things. Also, in the US, we more and more need to be careful of salmon since it's so bad. Is Scandinavian salmon (and other fish) traditionally caught or safely farmed? I'd love to have every kind in this video.
Thank you so much for your feedback! 🥰 As for the fish (as far as I know) it really depends because you can get both wild caught and safely farmed, (as well as not so safely farmed). Easy to find out when you buy in the markets. Regulations on toxic foods are stricter in Europe especially in Scandinavian countries so I generally feel safer about foods there 😅
Beautiful video! Something to pass along..please get your thyroid checked. I cut and pasted a simple self test: A careful look in the mirror may help you spot an enlarged thyroid that needs a doctor's attention. Tip your head back, take a drink of water, and as you swallow, examine your neck below the Adam's apple and above the collarbone. Look for bulges or protrusions, then repeat the process a few times. See a doctor promptly if you see a bulge or lump

Jag med!! 😍
That really was a great julbord 👌
Yes so amazing 😍
Potatoes are definitely vegetables. They come from a plant with an edible root.
Ah! I didn’t realize that due to its nutritional values… but I’m happy I learned that! 😄 thank you for the info 💯
