Great review Taylor! You’re correct about GCI using a new type of wood for their track. In higher stress areas (valleys or turns) they will switch from their traditional wood to I believe a Brazilian pine (That could be it, i forgot the exact wood type) which is much tougher and durable... but also much more expensive! That wood is darker than their traditional material so that’s how you can spot it on their newer rides!
ElToroRyan the exact name of the new, super durable Brazilian wood is Ipe (pronounced ee-pay)
If you liked his video u gotta remember to like, comment and subscribe!
Block zones typically don’t use Brazilian Pine, as they aren’t under as much stress. Oh, you want to know what a block zone is?A block zone is a section of ride that only one train may occupy at a time. At the end of a block zone there is a method to stop the train, in case the block zone ahead is still occupied. This is the safety system that prevents rollercoaster trains from colliding with one another.
Bro when I rode Texas Stingray for the first time I got whiplash with a hurting neck and back. I was at the third row. But it was Sooooo good I love GCI And Intamin.
I love how Adam is struggling so hard keeping his shirt down and I really felt that struggle. It reminds of my rides on Steel Vengeance
We love it when rides try to de-clothe us!
Coaster Studios @RMC 😂😂
Its so appropriate that this review is dropping today considering i was supposed to be riding this today ☠
@Airtime Thrills I am a huge fan of your channel and it's such a shame that you can't ride Texas Stingray yet. I know this lockdown period has been tough and if you're running out of video ideas please take my suggestion of best and worst coaster by track color. I think it would be really entertaining!
I was supposed to have already ridden this on ACE Day
Airtime Thrills My chance of riding this coaster this year recently died as well.
Realistically the parks aren't gonna open this year till September as much as it sucks it's for the best
Same but last week
It can’t be better than Air Grover though. Don’t even get me started on Oscar’s Wacky Taxi!
I just realized I’m a kings island fanboy, the whole video I was worried he was gonna say it’s better than mystic timbers
Mystic will always be king of GCI's (My home park is KI)
I had the same thought
Texas Stingray looks like such a cool ride and it definitely seems like a great fit for SeaWorld San Antonio. A shame I can’t ride it this year as I intended to but maybe next year!
Great review and you may have also convinced me to ride the rapids when I’m there to get some cool views of Texas Stingray.
This was on my season bucket list to start. Was gonna hit this after Iron Gwazi opening and really wanted to hit the Texas parks after all the Florida parks. Texas stingray looks so much like Mystic Timbers which is my favorite GCI of all.
Nah more like gold striker
With lockdown in place this helps a little thanks buddy
This whole pandemic thing is a lie, they are using this as an excuse to take away our rights and freedoms and bring in there cashless controlled society. They will shut down the internet, they will bring in the military, don’t let them do this. Don’t stand for this, don’t take the microchip vaccine. This is the mark of the beast that the Bible warned us of. I love you all.
The Flip woah slow down there
@@XGaming1 dude STOP
Loopp I’m not going to stop, wake up because this effects all of us.
Loopp Look up Event201, that’s proof that Bill Gates and a lot of other elite ran a corona virus pandemic simulation exactly 6 weeks before the first case of Covid19 was found in Wuhan China. Also Wuhan was the first area to activate its 5G network and science proved 5G would cause tons of health effects and now look. All big cities just finished installing 5G so just watch, covid19 is going to massively break out in big cities all over the us. Research Bill Gates ID2020, it’s a microchip in a vaccine that can be used to hold crypto currency and track every. That’s literally word for word the mark of the beast from the Bible. Don’t yell at me to stop when I’m trying to share this information to help all of us.
Now all three SeaWorld parks finally have a stringray-themed roller coaster!
If only I could hop on a GCI
Jason Green tryna get to King’s Island this summer lol
Brooke Jonas I’m trying too lol
Video idea for the quarantine: “Who can build the best coaster in Planet Coaster/No Limits 2 at Coaster Studios?”
Thanks for the video man ! Love them get so exited when you and airtime thrills put up videos! My 2 favorite!
I -love- fast flowin' corners. Everything about this coaster has seemed just perfect.
This ride is fantastic! It really hauls at night, has a great layout, and is very smooth!
Great review Taylor!
man, i really want to be able to go to parks.
Can't wait do Boardwalk Bullet review!!!
Busch is really hitting it out of the park(s) with their new attractions this year! A new coaster for every main park I think which is unheard of and I'm really glad to get to go to two of them every year
I love your videos I hope to ride this summer
Had the chance to ride it on opening day and loved it. Great review!
I love GCI
I remember getting about 50 rides on opening day on this, it was so much fun, also getting the 1 click on the lap bar makes the experience much better.
Clicked faster than when I wash my hands
Humor became weirded in 2020😁
I just had the pleasure of riding this two days ago! It was glass smooth pretty much with a tiny bit of vibration at the bottom of a couple of drops. Nothing terrible.
I agree, 9/10 for sure! The only reason it doesn't get a 10 from me is: there's one short moment where the pacing dips somewhat, before the tunnel. However I like sitting in the back, because there's some nice airtime right before that tunnel which is absent in the front. Along with all the amazing forces in the first half of the ride, "back is where it's at jack."
BROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I MISS THIS SO MLUCH
Looks Fun!!!💯🔥✨️
I’m so glad I got on this before all the parks shut down.
Great rewiew
I love Joris And The draak in the Efteling, i live in the netherlands and it is a great coaster
*Sees new pov video of Texas Stingray* Great! That means the new review will come out in a day or two!
*10 days later* Oh, it's here! About time. (Thanks Taylor) ;)
Great review Taylor! Looks like a cool ride. I prefer the look of an all wood coaster, but obviously its not my call
As a Dutch viewer I must admit you did rather well on the Joris en de draak pronunciation.
Can’t wait for boardwalk bullet review
Just looking at it and the stats it reminds me of Thunderhead at Dollywood 🤔
I love reviews
The end reminds me of Texas Giant with the low to the ground twists and pops.
its just looks fun
Sea world is always good at landscaping rides. They can build some good queues as well and of course cool facts about the animal thoroughly the queue lol. Getting good at the music game for each rides!
Good video
Makes me a little sad that all the trees around the Rapids are gone, but I'm sure it'll grow back in over the years!
Edit: It seems like the coaster only goes over part of the layout of the rapids! ua-cam.com/video/Px6zj9XUGRc/v-deo.html
Yes- sorry if I didn't make that totally clear. It doesn't go over the entire raft ride, just a section.
I really like that your taste palette seems to be expanding, or at least less airtime-centric. I love wooden twisters, but a lot of enthusiasts seem to underrate them for my tastes, because they want airtime machines.
Great review and this looks like a really fun ride.
So a quick, semi-related question. If you could go back to any point in time and get one ride on any now-defunct coaster, which would you choose?
1:43 Hey Mom! He’s talking about Great American Scream Machine!
Very very rare credit
Love the video keep up the great work
5:11 lol thats the most part i remember about this rollercoaster i remember forcely bending my head down when i saw it i could already feel the metal inside my skull lmao
What I find interesting about hardcore enthusiasts is that they really help with you seeing if a ride is worth it or not but kind of remove the atmosphere when your on a ride if they are calling elements or sensations like airtime. I'm not intending to insult enthusiasts, as I love roller coasters a lot too, but that does happen. It's the same with the signs in the Tower of London with the signs. They help you learn a lot but take away the feel from th place. Ido like your reviews and would love to get on this ride one day! My biggest and favourite roller coaster at the moment is Megafobia so I'm pretty new to all this but I do love the look of all these other rides like this one and all of the RMCs.
I was suppose to go to San Antonio this weekend to ride it along with visiting Fiesta Texas again, but all of that got canceled.... Hopefully I can get to Texas later this year.
More reason to go. I am planning a Texas coaster tour for next year. I will be hitting both Six Flags parks and SeaWorld.
I rode this six times. 3 in the morning and 3 in the afternoon. I got one ride in the front, 2 in the middle, and 3 in the back. I preferred it in the back because I got pulled over the drops. I thought it was a good number two behind Steel Eel, which blew me away.
I gave this a 10/10 perfect score
This reminded me of apocalypse
I've only been on 1 woodie (Cú Chulainn at Tayto park) and these new gen rides from gravity group, gci and rmc have me so hyped for my next trip to the states
Cú Chulainn is a ride I hope to experience one day- it looks awesome!
@@CoasterStudios it's a load of fun, been once where the trains where a bit rattly (still fun) but they fixed it so it was back to its usual. timberliners are great too.
Trying to get to King’s Island for Mystic Timbers (okay well everything). Didn’t make it there yet lol
First of all: I would really like to ride this coaster. Secondly: as a Dutchie, I compliment you on the prenunciation of our duelling GCI coaster, Joris en de draak. It was actually really spot-on, except for the "joris" part. Your 'J' sounds like an English G, which is understandable, but if you want to pronounce it correctly, bear in mind that you should say more or less "E"-oris en de draak. The 'G' sound doesn't ever happen in Dutch with a 'J' letter. I'm just saying this because you mentioned it in your video :P No hard feelings, still like your videos just as much :)
excellent video shots for this. great job.
did you ever finish that astroworld video you emailed me about ages ago?
Hi Sean, the footage I contacted you about was for a scene in Save My Park: A Kentucky Kingdom documentary. If you haven't seen it yet, definitely check it out! ua-cam.com/video/_ypLgCUq0n0/v-deo.html
I thought it was sluggish when it first opened but when u rode it it was absolutely hauling
I would love a best GCI list. Would love to see how the others stack up to the goat mystic timber’s
Ah yes the standard gci hold up the lapbar so you can get more airtime trick
Kids ...Don't listen to this guy 👆🏾
Kids.... don’t listen to this guy 👆🏿
they have a shed, 10/10 ride would ride again
I’m so disappointed at the fact that I can’t ride this! Our band was going to have a field trip to SeaWorld San Antonio this April and because of the Coronavirus, it got canceled
Struggling to pick between Seaworld and Fiesta Texas when my son is old enough. This might make me pick Seaworld, I’ve never rode a wooden coaster when it was new.
Love this one... I feel like wooden coasters actually start their lives better than steel coasters; & vice versa. Steel rides I've always felt get 'seasoned', but it doesn't take too long, either. At least w the newer rides I've been on, and been able to compare in the future... for example,. I went on Roar at Six Flags America (a seemingly hated ride, universally), when it was brand spanking new, and it was great. Rode it dozens of times. The smell of the wood, the color of the wood. It wasn't rough at all. Compare that to their other woodie, 100-year old "The Wild One" - if it was operating that day, lol - not necessarily bad, but just kinda rickety & kinda lame. It would be nice if Roar & similar 'bowl' shape coasters were longer maybe; more out and back style... but that's just me. New wood coasters are always better than years and decades later in my opinion!!
Man I can’t wait for this virus to end because I’m headed straight for seaworld after this and Texas stingray is first
Great review Taylor, we’re gonna get a Wave Breaker review in the next few weeks?
Not sure- maybe. If enough people want one, then sure.
I'd love to see a video of your ranking of the best roller coasters outside of North America!
I did a top 15 in Europe a while ago, as well as a top 10 in Japan. I suggest you check those out!

SeaWorld San Antonio is now working on their 2021 attraction!
Please do a rollercoaster battle Mystic Timbers vs Texas Stingray.
We would have been riding it this weekend on the way back from Big Bend. Oh well, it'll still be there next time we get down there.
nathan brown big bend? As innkentucky big bend w their gci...
Ride Warriors Reviews that’d be beach bend.
I havent ridden this thing, but from what ive seen, it just looks too smooth for a GCI. I love how GCI's seem almost underengineered but this thing just looks too floaty. Also both of my visits to SWSA have been terrible to some bias might be there as well
I wanted to see all of the new 2020 coasters openings and testing (like iron Gwazi and TX stingray) but because of recent events it’s a big bummer I can’t ._.
The purpose of the shed on the brake run is to shield riders from the Texas summer sun
Gonna miss the Gwazi trains but least they’re being used for the greater good. I’m sure a lot of parts on the trains were replaced. What’s the giant gray sphere? Let’s just hope they put the proper maintenance and time in keeping it smooth and reridable.
Gwazi trains were used for InvadR, not Texas Stingray
You pronounced Joris en de draak pretty well
When are you doing the boardwalk bullet review?
the plan is sometime this weekend. So, very soon.
RMC should make wooden coasters right?
All the GCI coasters I’ve ridden were the best GCI because I’ve ridden Woden timburcoaster and gold striker
Interesting variety there lol
It's okay, but it's a tad small. Also, it took away from the Frightmare forest Halloween haunt size footprint, so I don't know how they'll be able to reincorporate that into the park once October comes around.
Best wooden coaster in Texas
so are sheds now just a GCI trademark
Are you gonna do a new steel eel review?
I am not currently planning on it
3:13 no thad name is pretty accurate (im heading there sunday and will be there till monday)
stil waiting for a troy review ;p
the front of the train looks more like a manta ray than a stingray
Could you call Texas Stingray a hybrid coaster due to the steel structure?
Technically yes, but it’s still classified as wooden due to it having wooden track.
What wood is this coaster
I give Texas Stingray at first 0/10 now it’s 10/10
How does it compare to Troy?
Better than ghost rider?
It probably feels a lot different than if it had all wood structure like most wooden coasters.
which row would your recommend most?
Front and Back- you'll want to do both.
How is it from 96 feet to a 100 feet drop???
Next is Boardwalk Bullet review next?
That will be the next coaster review, yes
RMC Wildcat
A-....great coaster...
The wood looks like it was treated.
How are all these parks still open because coronavirus
They aren't. This was filmed before they closed.
Is seaworld still open?
no
I hope GCI redoes American Eagles track
YES! Finally someone agrees with me!
6:51 at least it's not Mystics Timbers Shed.
Corona stinks! I want to go to Bush Gardens
