- This large scale terrain twister coaster operates as the signature attraction at Alabama Adventure. It's an aggressive ride that some may like, but others might not be as impressed with. What did we think? Here's what we have to say!

"This coaster is a TERRAIN coaster."
"If you are a big fan of laterals, you will be getting plenty of that on Rampage."
Me, who has Beast, Ravine Flyer, Legend, Raven, and Twister in my top 15: It's showtime
You knew I would say this...
Sweet home Alabama!
Let me tell you how I met my girlfriend. There she was at the family reunion, leaning against the ferris wheel, making it tilt. There she was with a corndog in one hand, a bud light in the other. 🤠
Mr. Roller Coasters 👁🗨👁🗨
🕳
“You’re gonna ascend all the way up the lift hill.” Nah I’m good, I’m gonna jump out of the train halfway up the lift hill and walk the rest of the way. Very epic.
LMFAOOOO 💀
Personally, I LOVE laterals mixed with airtime in my woodies, and that’s why CCI is my favorite coaster manufacturer and that’s why my top three favorite wooden coasters are 1. Legend 2. Rampage 3. Beast. Like those three rides just feel so wild and out of control. They are incredible to me, plus I don’t mind a little roughness
2:21 there is a guy standing up in the back of the train
Daniel Font-Wilets hmmm I wonder who it could be
Lol
Daniel Font-Wilets looks like someone is breaking park rules there. Hmmm, we must haul Taylor before the council, and the council are not forgiving
Tf
HR I- lmao
CCI is the most underrated roller coaster manufacturer. Up there with GCI
Tie Dough since I'm a lateral fan, it's great to have Oakwood as my home park where Megafobia is. Also, not far from Oakwood is Folly Farm, which has one of the best waltzers I've seen in terms of force.
The engineers from CCI are still active, too. They reformed as the Gravity Group and still make some of the best wooden coasters today.
Reilly Walker some are in gci too if I’m right. I like to think they are PTC on crack. Weird airtime pops, some of the rides can be unbearable and others are glass smooth. And laterals ofc. I’m sad that excalibur at Funtown Splashtown is closed and look forward to get on that in 2021
GCI would be higher up if they made more rides like Mystic Timbers. I get they're known for laterals, but a bit more airtime would be nice.
@@tiedough7481 Yes. GCI was founded in the 1990s by two men who left CCI early on. When CCI collapsed, I believe some of the company's staff went to GCI while others went on to create the Gravity Group.
4:36 They clearly took inspiration from Mt. Olympus
I remember when this first opened, when Alabama Adventure was known as Visionland. It was my first major coaster and definitely sparked my love for roller coasters. Ive always loved this coaster and one thing you will notice is when you get to the park you will normally hear it before you see it. It went several years standing but not operating before the new owners took over the park. When I rode it again after the years of it being closed, I had forgotten how intense it was especially in the back car but the front section of seats.
My goodness that guy is standing up! 😂 I’ve had that experience on Blue Streak back row at Cedar Point. 2:22
I love these old CCIs and want to get around to all of them eventually. I definitely can't wait to try this one out. I've been wanting to ride it for some time!
It's been retracked this year and now this ride is kick ass. Has all the laterals of the Legend (minus the helix) and all the air time of the Raven in one package. I'd rank it somewhere between the two: ahead of Raven and slightly behind Legend for not having the insane helix.
This has always been a bucket list coaster for me. Is it just because of the name? Yeah, kinda. But these CCI coasters are getting harder to find and I've formed an appreciation for them in recent years for paving the way for the GCI's and Gravity Group coasters we have today.
Nice to see another review. Great to see more reviews and collaboration with CoasterForce. Great frequent content. Keep Up The Great Work Taylor and Stay Safe
Really happy to see just how ridiculous I look off-ride 😂( 2:21 ) just to confirm I would NEVER stand,I will however purposely get a one click in order to achieve standing airtime.
Bruh, u wild'n 😂
If you ever want to come back and get some footage in an area you can't normally get to and maybe a behind the scenes tour, let us know! Great review and keep up the good work!
Very underrated coaster in my opinion. I loved it! The blend of laterals and airtime was very good and I loved it. But yes that one part is ridiculously rough. If you’re coming down on I-20 from another state further west, you can stop at alabama adventure and then go down I-20 and stay at a hotel near six flags over georgia
im just watching this video when right in front of me, coaster studios was on right this minute lol THATS EPIC
Amazing review and I forgot to tell you how awesome that editing was on the off ride
For the past 18 years, RAMPAGE has been my home coaster. Trust me when I say that your total score of "7" may be accurate for the morning rides that you experienced (before the train and the tracks had broken-in for the day, which we all know wood coasters have to do). Had you stayed around for late-afternoon rides, you would have experienced a totally different coaster -- as different as night and day. By mid-afternoon, RAMPAGE runs like a bat out of hell. The forces you mentioned liking -- negative G's and laterals -- are greatly intensified as is the overall speed. Had you ridden it later in the day, your final score would have surely been raised to at least an 8 or possibly higher. Here's hoping you'll one day be back in the South to give RAMPAGE another chance.
Like I said this isn’t nearly a accurate review overall. If you leave before mid day there’s no possible way you’ve experienced a wooden coasters actual potential.
We did ride it in the mid afternoon, and yes it was running more aggressive.
Megafobia is definitely a top 3 coaster out of the 87 I've ridden 🔥
Thanks for your review. We might be going here this coming weekend.
One of the closest CCI Woodies I would relate this in one to is Boss at Six flags St. Louis, the layout is nothing similar but they both are great terrain CCI Woodies and strong airtime.
I have been on this I live 15 minutes away from Alabama adventure and this is so fun!!
Great video! 🙂 I've done Megafobia a fair few times, and must admit the drop (at that back) is ridiculous! So I can only imagine how wild it is on Rampage. I find CCI's to be vastly smoother on the front though, it's always a tough decision when you hit the station... 🤔
Def one of my fav CCIs
CCI were like a world class coaster manufacturer really. They have so many coasters that are just awesome!
Imagine this ride with the RMC treatment!
I’ve been on rampage and it’s honestly fire 🔥 🔥🔥🔥
6:30 Taylor has a top 50... Release it as a spreadsheet so we can all see.
2:22 what a legend!!!
Thank you 😂😂
What is it with rides being named after little kids getting upset? Tantrum? Rampage? What’s next, Pouting?
Rampage... is a synonym to "war path", "large-scale destruction", etc honestly. I would never look at a kid and be like "oh he's on a rampage" lol theres actual war happening where political leaders are on a rampage destroying the earth in the process, for example. A tantrum is just a throwing a fit to me... a rampage is actual destruction.
Lea Reed it was a joke but thank you for the knowledge
They’ve retracked that section you mentioned, and it’s much less painful now lol.
While I’m a local, Rampage is still one of my favorite wooden coasters. It’s just so aggressive and forceful. The name is very fitting.
Just a suggestion for future coaster reviews. You should talk about you’re favorite seat on the coasters. You hit on it in this one, but in some others, you didn’t say, like Intimidator 305. Anyways, great review and happy you got to go here!
The i305 review is several years old. I try to in all the reviews I do now to mention my favorite seat.
2:21, I can't tell if that guy in the back is standing up.
Nah,I just got a one click and this thing brings the ejector 🙌🏼
Megafobia is incredible! Incredible airtime in the back, lots of room there.
Attraction Swirl this is megafobia’s clone in the us
Home town Rampage ❤
Do you think the roughness adds to the intensity like Hades 360 besides the terrable moments?
Great review. My home park. I agree with everything you said. That valley area is so bad and jarring. They need to reprofile it. But really what this coaster needs more than anything is the rmc treatment. However that may never happen given thr tiny budget this park has for improvements.
Hmm maybe I should check out this poster sometime. Maybe do a late summer Dixie coaster tour. From Orlando Alabama is literally less than a 6 hour drive.
Looks cool.
It’s crazy it’s closed for the season, I think they could RMC it
This coaster is definitely very underrated!
At 2:20, it looks like the dude is almost standing up haha. Talk about airtime
he is 😑
Phenomenal airtime! Ops are very good and allow one clicks! I’d never stand on a ride tho, that just ruins the forces.
This park would be top notch with a hyper gtx and a family flying vekoma!
Hey Taylor are you planning on going to Hersheypark for the reopening? Would love to see a vlog of their reopening!
I won't be there until August most likely
What was your favorite at the park
Cool
Should do a top 50 coasters
I haven't ridden rampage in a while since like early 2000s but surely remember the intensity of it I plan on going back sometime soon in the near future and I'm pretty sure that they know that they need to invest a bit more to turn things around a bit more and like you/he was saying and fill in some gaps and spruce things up a bit more or actually a lot more to be exact but I think that they will more sooner than later!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ayyy I’ve ridden Megafobia
me: i love your vids
also me: i also like rollercoasters
Wow i thought it was on of the best CCI’s
Is that guy standing up in the back row on the first drop? (2:21)
Video idea - top 7-8 milestone coasters (every 100 coasters)
1:41 dude in the back is literally standing up lol
I wouldn’t do that! That’s just great ejector right there 😉
They should have named it whiplash. Very rough. Me and my family got pretty banged up
What's that last rider doing at 2:20?????? As Taylor would say "What the frick?!"
I do not know him nor do I approve of his decision to stand up on the ride.
2:22 When you realize you should have dropped that lap bar a bit more.
How did you hear about this coaster? I'm honestly surprised anybody knew it existed. This park is always on the verge of collapse.
i went to this place when it was VisionLand and i wanted it to succeed so bad bc i loved and still love amusement parks but alabama just sucks. nobody lives here, you have to go all the way to the south to get the best restaurants you have to go all the way to the north to get the best breweries and there's nothing in between except a giant pool and a motorcycle museum. the only benefit to living here is that property is ridiculously cheap and is barely taxed
Does anyone know why Rampage is SBNO?
I pretty much consider Ghostrider a GCI now. Rides more like that after they overhauled it.
Time for Renegade @ Valleyfair
I live 20 mins from this park it runs better somedays than other it has great airtime and runs great especially becuase it sat abandoned for years when the park went bankrupt and gained new ownership years later
Flo-Jector between floater and ejector
Do you think Iron Gwazi will be better than Steel Vengeance, Lighting Rod, etc.
I don’t think so personally, but very close to them
@@SmileBullet I agree
Keep in mind that the ride was basically abandoned from 2012 to 2014, and even before that, the park had gone bankrupt and been sold too many times to count, so I imagine the ride was in pretty rough shape from neglect by the time the Koch’s took over.
Ur welcome
Guy at 2:21 made it a standing coaster
Is rampage better than mine blower?
Personally, I’d say no
gosh darnit Taylor. Out of ALL people, you choose Coaster Force
edit: I have nothing against you at all it's just that Coaster Force is known to strike a lot of videos
I'm friends with everyone on that team, why wouldn't I pick them? They film the best POV's on youtube.
@@CoasterStudios I don't want you're vids getting striked
Ejector Air Coasters I literally just said i’m friends with him. He would never strike me. He will strike other people who steal their content, but I have permission.
Interesting....
You see everyone on the train then you see taylor
2:21
What place in Alabama is this in
South side of Birmingham. They got a relocated L&T wild mouse this year too
Are you coming to Florida soon?
When iron gwazi opens
@@CoasterStudios Iron Qwazi may not open this year...
*Could
I’m very surprised that Taylor is not too enthusiastic about laterals, mostly because I305 is at his home park
i305 isn't really heavy on the laterals, because all the turns are heavily banked. Not the same thing.
If it is banked a lot, then you would get more positive G Force but if it is not so banked then you get more laterals. I305 turns are very banked so they are ment more for the positive G Force.
I give it a 100 out of 100000000000000000000000000000000000000
You haven't ridden Renegade at Valleyfair yet! I will personally guarantee that it will be in your top 5 wooden coasters.
I personally highly doubt it would be in my top 5 wooden coasters, considering my top 5 woodies are all RMC's or El Toro and Voyage. Even my favorite GCI, Mystic Timbers, doesn't make my top 5 wooden coasters.
@@CoasterStudios Well i guess I'm comparing it more to a classic wooden coaster. Yeah, it won't compete with a hybrid! But I really do believe you will get off and say "dang, I wasn't expecting that"! I'm probably a little biased but it is a great ride and very re-ridable!
I rode this about 20 years ago in 2000 and it was rough as hell and I hated it. If you didn't think it was that bad it means they retrackers did their job.
They actually retracked it in 2015
Heyo
One of the parts if you put your hands up you feel like they are going to be chopped off 😂
who's that guy standing up at 2:21
Flo-Jector :)
Thank you for this review. I dislike laterals-focused coasters so this park may be a pass for me.
I’m wonder what this coaster would be like if they RMC’D it
you stole my thought lol
talking about the airtime I can tell taylor was trying very hard not to say his least favorite word, flojector
wait that’s still not wodan
Do you think rampage should be rmc?
No I just think it needs a good retracking
@@CoasterStudios i think it would bring more guest to the park
I think it should get a GhostRider-esque overhaul, with Millennium Flyers and all. As is, its solid. What really makes a ride timeless is the layout. That’s why rides like GhostRider (and most CCIs), and even oldies like the Coney Island Cyclone and The Beast (Yeah that’s right, internet! EAT IT!! The ending death helix is insane, and it’s got tunnels and ground hugging galore, all surrounded by woods.) have held up so well, while rides like Mean Streak (and most Dinn coasters in general, which if not for the roughness, you could probably take a nap on) aged like cheese, cuz once that track started getting rough, there was nothing interesting to bring people back. Luckily, for the most part, Id say Rampage falls into the former. category. Great name, to! appropriate and unique. It really is an assault on your senses (in the best way possible) as it charges over the hills.
Day 5 of wanting a hades 360 coaster parody
It’s gonna be quite a while if he ever does
Mine blower is SO bad nowadays. I almost broke my back on it.
Talkin trimless. thats all I want.
I LOVE RAMPAGE ????????????
Rampage might be my favorite coaster. It is a top notch wooden coaster with a huge fun factor. It has all the elements you want in a great woodie and yet it doesn't beat you down like many of the others. Another big bonus is the fact that there are hardly ever any stupid long lines, meaning you can easily ride it many times on almost any visit to the park and do all the different places on the train - front, back and middle. There's a great water park too. Anyone within striking distance should don their bathing suits and spend a day there.
okay 2:21 ... If he would’ve fell out his family would have been ready to sue .
Rmc rampage 2025
height 130
Drop 125
Inversions 4
Speed 60 mph
What if they gave this the ghost rider treatment ...?
1:42 kid on the right, not sure how that's safe....
Defonatly like megaphobia at Oakwood
On the footage it looks terribly rough...
It’s wild I will have to say! But it’s underrated IMO. I don’t think it’s THAT rough but it is rough. It’s got A LOT of laterals
