I think you kind of have to expect to find bull sharks in Florida, but the real surprise would be finding them far up the Mississippi river or in the rivers of New York.
They've been found pretty far up the Mississippi River, well over 1,000 miles into Illinois and almost 2,000 miles up the Amazon. Bull sharks can recycle and regulate the salt in their bodies from when they leave the ocean which is how they can live fine in both salt & freshwater. They've also been found in the Potomac River. 🦈 Although actual attacks are very rare. Often bites are accidental, they mistake us for something else or bite out of curiosity, not because they want to kill and eat us. They just have such sharp teeth and so many of them, often they do so much harm a bite can be very serious, occasionally even fatal. But think of how many people do use the ocean and don't get bitten. It really is rare. Humans kill so many millions more sharks every year. It's awful.
Or in the Missouri state line and Illinois man they’re huge and the last thing you’d expect to see when on a barge tugboat. Like effin jaws but meaner and faster.
There are no trash fish, only trash anglers. Gar are native, more than I can say for brown trout, common carp, tilapia, chiclids, big heads, silvers and many more species.
I totally agree. Anything that has survived that long, despite humans best attempts to kill them, (like other predators often accused without concrete proof), deserves MUCH respect. I think Gar are very cool fish and I hope they rebound and build up a plentiful supply. They serve a purpose or they wouldn't be here in the first place. 😃👍
bull sharks swim through the city in brisbane ffs. i couldnt believe it, was in my friends aunties house on holiday, look out into the canal maybe 2 feet deep and theres a 5 foot shark swimming by
I’ve seen 1 alligator gar in the wild, in my life. In Missouri at Clarence Cannon Dam, Mark Twain. In my mind it was 6ft, but probably closer to 4 1/2ft. I vowed never to go in waters I cannot see after that.
I think Jeremy Wade might be the coolest man in the world. Humble king

The fish caught by jeremy wade makes me jealous
There is something so satisfying about Jeremy Wade saying "In part makes me understand why America is called Land of the Brave".
it is called that only by Americans, everywhere else in the world it is called land of the deluded morons
@@ashleyhoffman4117 and the rest of the world isn't?
Bravery and stupidity are very close cousins ;)

That fish died the moment it caught back up with its groopies until they smelt the blood.
