You should do a TunnelSmart down there
HEYA max... I love your content!
You too are fantastic
didnt expect Foshy here
Don't worry, you can keep on showing the digging, welding etc, we love it! Would watch a 10 hour marathon if it was available!
Yea
You posted 3 min ago and you already have 50 likes 😂
Yes i would love to watch that

If he had a go pro in the corner live streaming it I’d watch it
Loving this series Colin! Every child in the world has imagined having secret tunnels and bunkers in their house, I know I certainly did when I was younger. Thanks for making my dream something that I can see actually done. One thing you could do to really nail it, you mentioned a lift in the pantry. I'm picturing a SECRET lift, to follow the theme of the series. Like, you pull a fake box of tea bags or a book, like in the movies, and the floor just psssssh's down. Thanks again, I hope you see this.
NO, it has to be a fake box of tea bags!!!!! LOL
the fact that he went through it repeatedly like 4 times at the end when it was finished speaks to literally everybody's inner child
Guys, HERE is The Savior
YaH The Heavenly FATHER HIMSELF was Who they Crucified for our sins, NOT jesus, and “HERE IS THE PROOF”

He - "Behold the Breath"
Vav - "Behold The NAIL"
i fucking love how close friends you've gotten with tom since the bunker build XD amazing how insane projects build bonds
The fact that you manage to make something that is absolutely devilish with details of planning and consequence so ingestible for a layman is really what I love about this. It's comments like "we need to do this to stop that from happening" that really trivialise how complicated and hard it is to do what you're doing. The last episode with the foundations of the house etc, just the diagram you drew made it look so elementary in nature that even a layman could just say "Oh yeh of course", but the reality is that you had to realllyyyyy graft and put in the hours to make sure every part of planning is done and covered - and even allowed (from a council perspective). You hide all of those boring parts and break them down into easily ingestible parts and for that, I thank you :)
@George Washington i wish
@George Washington Okay comrade.
I agree, I didn't even realise 20 minutes had already passed when the video was over.
I'd love to hear some of the boring parts
Well said
Every "secert" tunnel needs a "secret" entrance. Like the standard head bust with a button on it. Or bookshelf with book lever. Maybe pantry has that too. Twist a bottle and the door opens.
Yes! Maybe there's a possibility of a collaboration with James Bruton and a 3D scanner to print out a bust.
Bruce Wayne
@@scubarick1 by Bruce Wayne do you mean piano or grandfather clock?
Secret elevator button
A turnstyle in the cupboard, that activates the door when you enter a special combination
IDEA TO REPLACE THE PANTRY : A lift would be awesome, especially if it still looks like a pantry.
You could push one on the tiles to activate the lift and then the whole room goes downstairs ! After that, the wall on the right would unlock and open. You just have to push it like a door to enter the tunnel :) it's much cooler than a simple lift and acts like a secret passage
Glorious!!!! I’m loving the underground sign and tiles. You’ve really give the space character without being too overwhelming. I love it 🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡
I’d love to know the practical elements from this build:
-Did you have to get city approval?
-How much would this cost? (The material cost seems insane)
-How much did this increase the value of your house?
Based on the amount of steel he's using and how much the value of steel has gone up, this is a ludicrously expensive project. Because he is an incredibly successful youtuber, he is basically one of the few who are capable of even considering this project, not even including the skills and engineering knowledge/connections to make this project get off the ground.
like to know 2!!!!
It's worth as much as someone is willing to pay, and since it's not on the market, nobody knows.
Other comments have summarized the approvals and permits Colin went through.
2m x 1m x 2mm cold rolled steel sheets are about £100, and you'd need about 4 of them per 1m section of tunnel. At a *very* rough guess, it looks like about 1.5 - 2 cubic yards of concrete per 1m section, which would cost of around £125 delivered. Electrical, plywood, taxes, other odds and ends, would push the total up to at least £575/m in my quick estimation, assuming Colin and friends do all the work.
As for increasing the value of his house, I wouldn't take that as a given, at least not for the appraisal price. Builds like this can be a liability. It seems to be built well, but even so, not everybody wants a tunnel or a bunker, and there would be required insurance and maintenance (or risk causing problems above ground or in the house). But, hey, it's fun as hell, and *I'd* love a house with a tunnel, so I guess if you find the right buyer, who knows.
E
Full send option- line the walls with shelves so as to disguise it as a regular pantry and retain the pantry's functionality, but the floor is a secret elevator that can slowly descend or ascend up and down the shaft at the pull of a concealed lever disguised as a food item. That would undoubtedly be the coolest option. Like a batcave entrance. IMO.
Have the down downstairs sign light up and it will reveal the opening to the tunnel.
Maybe he could get an old British telephone booth and build a floor like that for the front of the house haha
"Could you please grab me a can of beans from the - NO NOT THAT CAN OF BEANS!!!"
Even better extend the shelves all the way down to the bottom and double up the pantrys usefulness
Read this just as he said "if in the future, if we ever install a lift..." lol
Alright, you've officially gone mad!!! I absolutely freaking LOVE what you have done! Who cares that it takes 22 seconds to use the tunnel!!! IT IS A TUNNEL!!!!
yasss
It’s a FUN-NEL!!
the might be useless now but it will be very useful once he connects it to the bunker and maybe puts a batman type of car platform that lowers in to the tunnel
You are built different dude. Just amazing. There would still be a big empty hole in my back yard.
Polk county where?
Can we all appreciate ricks friendship and help with everything colins done with his whole channel and building this tunnel especially. What a lad!
I'm pretty sure he is atleast partially hired
And of course there's Tom Lamb with all the machines. I think he's a farming/construction contractor
Work hard, play hard. Why not do both at the same time?! I’d like to see a couple of videos about the team behind Colin’s mad genius!
@@44dam4: I don't know why, but Tom seems like the friendliest chap you'll ever meet.
this man is living our childhood dream of connected underground tunnels at our houses. congrats man!
If you see this Colin would love to see a logistics video after its done... materials used... how many miles of welding wire used... planning permission from council? All the goodies please!
for real!!!
@@i-_-am-_-g1467 Seconded, especially the last part. Don't know how you'd run it by Buzzkill HQ.
@@dawidblazkowicz2702 It helps that he's famous and charismatic, the council's probably 1. Proud of him, and 2. Would rather not push him into moving to another town that wont stop him.
@@TheGrumbliestPuppy That and depending on where you live planning permission for underground structures isn't that big of a deal.
When I was younger my mum had a basement added to the house, no issues at all getting planning.
I don’t know what’s more impressive how much work it took or how good of a job you did. Pretty impressive
Love what you’re doing, tell us the scary part, THE COST
and total number of hours... (days, weeks, months, years...)
@@jonniiinferno9098 Probably not as bad as you think. Cost drops when you buy in bulk or have hookups. Time to completion drops with experience as well. I remember taking apart my car interior.... first time took me easily 8 hours. Subsequent times took me less than 1 hour. If I had to guess, this tunnel probably took ~3 months and around 100k but it really comes down to how much he is working (8 hour days vs 12 hour days).
he’s mentioned he can’t say exactly bc most of the costs were paid by sponsors and he can’t say how much the sponsors have paid him
@AllYourBase420 10K?
I don't think that's remotely close.
Do we cost in man hours?
Tool and equipment hire/Purchase?
Cost of electricity?
Cost of research, legal advice, contacting service suppliers etc.
The cost will have been far higher in my estimates.
But sponsors will have covered much of the cost, I'm sure. No doubt some of the tooling/equipment was covered by sponsors of previous jobs too.
So in truth, it all comes down to how you break down what the "cost" was.
@@richardwillson101 100k* whoops lol missed a 0
If I'm reading the illustration correctly.. It looks like the section that is complete is the short section. So that means you have a ton of work left to do for connecting the bunker! I don't envy the work! But I can't wait to see the result!
Oh hey David, fancy seeing you here!
Well considering they had to dig carefully because house foundation and pipes and such, I would hope the dig to the bunker would go faster
At some point, I'm pretty sure he said the section in the yard is getting dug with a backhoe. It'll be the easy part.
@@korniestpatch And they had to deal with the bend, the next tunnel is gonna just be completely straight
It might be easier give he won't have to worry as much about plumbing, electrics , the foundation or the big one was the 90 degree turn.
I swear this man is a gem,hes sooo happy and content with his work,i have never seen such a genuine person, also crazy to the bone, just love him
Just gonna say, this is right proper! Just an awesome chap, building what he wants, having a blast doing it -- and all the while, putting out quality content for 11.9M subs.
Can't get any better than that! Well done, and bloody brilliant, Colin! You've done a heckin' amazing job!
Shout out to the guy helping you on this, lad looks like he's putting alot of sweat and effort in and isn't complaining or showing any signs of slowing down 👊
I hear he's Furze's son travelled back from the future to help him...
He's Definitely getting paid for it.. I doubt Colin would let him volunteer all that work for free, even as a good friend.
Hey Colin, my suggestion is to finish the cut board so it look like a finished pantry. But, when you step in and close the door, the floor hydraulically lowers into your tunnel. A secret entrance of the sort. Plus it would be great for groceries when you get the front tunnel completed. You could trigger the floor by tugging on the Colin Furze spice on your spice rack or something like that. Great channel, keep up the awesome work.
@zuygj bnsv let’s be fair, it more than just a basement haha
I'm going to be terribly disappointed if the whole pantry floor doesn't eventually descend like in a cheesy spy movie.
Do this, PLEASE!!!!!
Yep, good suggestion! Big numbers on the wall to indicate level.
Lots of sheet steel, welding, digging, and above all, quality workmanship. You clearly made a beautiful solid underground complex. I can't imagine all the work but it looks great!
You're living life to it's fullest Colin... you are a super inspiring guy!
I'd love to hear the stats on this project. Man hours, quantities and costs of steel, concrete, services etc, also a flavour of the permissions and regulations involved. I never tire of your talk about details on the things you do.
Yea, I was about to ask the regulations/permit’s for this project.
@@skycloud7623 I guess as he's been doing it 'in secret' he's not bothered!!
Can't imagine what his house will be worth in the future though!
@@stepheneyles2198 (mission impossible theme starts playing)
I doubt it's anything other than the planning permissions that were involved with his bunker...
It's got to be an absolute insane amount of money. That steel alone costs a fortune. I don't know if he's using a weathering steel like COR-TEN, but I would hope so, especially as moisture rich as the UK is. But that would be an incredible amount of money.
just keep digging just keep digging ⛏
When UA-cam itself comments you know the video is a banger

I like your tunnels. I apreciate all the work and effort you've put into them.
When I helped my mate Pete build the tunnel from the base of his tower (Tower has a five storey periscope inside it*) to the underground dry dock we made sure the tunnel was curved so you couldn't see how long it was :)
I wish I could share pictures of it.
*The periscope made a support for the winched platform and a great datum as the tower was built.
ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT! The fabrication and end result is top notch!
When he started talking about a car lift to go straight into the tunnels, mind exploded with excitement. This project is now INSANELY awesome
yeah like, it was awesome before but with that i can't even think of a word describing how awesome that is.
For real! Same!
Yep, exactly, i had to replay that part - i thought 'did i hear that right?!' , how f***ing awesome!!!!!!
sameeee i was like are you KIDDING me no fucken way
Speaking of current events: Make the hatch able to be hydraulically assisted in opening. Even a bottle jack would work. Or you could adapt the mechanism from a floor jack. If there are several hundred pounds of debris laying on top of the hatch from a building collapse, you’ll need something like that to get it open.
genius! I thought just cool idea but yeah! How are you gonna lift all that fallen debris?
@@zTribalstylerz there will be pockets and cavities you don't have to lift all the debris but an assistance device would lift more than you could on a ladder that maybe a nice addition and another video idea
The mower shed might be the best bet in that case, lightest building of the three.
And cathodic protection so all that steel doesn't rust away before you need to use it
or you could just go through one of the many other hatches...
What a talented man! Incredible! Not just the tunnel but your other projects.
Two things I love, is youtubers who are super passionate and who puts in a lot of effort for just an ad, most ads I skip cause the classic stand infront of a camera. Love the shark and love the engineering behind every part of this project.
For your Q&A: How are you disposing of all the rubble? Your neighbors have to be pretty used to your shenanigans by now, but it would be fun to hear their take on your new tunnel. What part(s) of the process have been the most difficult? Come across anything interesting in the digging process? Artifacts?
I love the whole tunnel idea. But not sure if being a neighbor to Colin is a win though. :p
He dug another tunnel and put it there.
@@matoatlantis Colin grew up after having kids of his own. No more clearing snow off the front yard with a pulsejet. His courtesy towards neighbours is sold as this tunnel being a secret project and thus not wanting to make a noise while neighbours are at home.
He puts a bit in his trousers, then goes for a stroll. The entire neighbourhood is a few centimeters higher elevation now.
@martin i I'd be helping if I were his neighbor. Ask him to build one secretly into my garage so I can come hang out with him when the wife is mad at me
At this point he should call it 'DIGGING THE WORLD'S MOST FAMOUS TUNNEL'.
Awesome work! Can't wait for the next one!
You have a good one there! "Digging the world's most famous *SECRET* tunnel" lol! I wonder what the next people who buys this house are going to think 🤔😏

Hi

What would have been really cool was if you had put a pressure switch on the ladder so that as soon as you stepped onto the ladder, the lights would pop on below.
I love this idea so much. I plan to make a bunker one day and have always liked the idea of a secret tunnel
Man you probably hear this all the time, but still, I just can't express how much I love the content you have been putting out all these years! When I first started watching your videos I was in highschool and now I have a job of my own. All throughout your videos have inspired and entertained me. Incredible undertaking! amazing work.
We need more humans like Colin on this planet!
I would add:
- a fireman pole
- fake window inside the tunnel so u can see the rocks (might look cool with some led lights)
- One entrance that looks like The Hatch from the show LOST (or u know, replica of on of the rooms from inside the hatch)
A fake window wouldn't be very functional, the entire tunnel is lined with concrete.
a fake into the rocks windows is a really good idea!
We need the button and the alarm that needs to be pressed every 108 minutes
Traps: nets, blowguns, a giant boulder, etc
I'd add a fake door that you open to just the rock face.
The driveway lift for the car will be amazing! Can’t wait to see that.
Stuff being quicker, it’s about living life fun! Love it Colin. Look forward to the next video.
I hope he wears a batman costume for that finale.
I bet you’re REALLY happy to have this built now with the crazy recent events! Great job on ya
Absolutely love the little shout-out to This Old Tony with the sticker, that poor guy always seems dwarfed whenever he's put beside colin, the hacksmith, and all those other makers, but the guy does his best nonetheless, he deserves the support
I envy the people who find this series once it's completed and they get to binge watch it. Definitely my favorite thing I've watched in a long time
So… people 30 years from now? We all know that this project ain’t stopping with the secret car lift and the secret bunker entrance.
Project binky but underground
Same. It's one of the best UA-cam series I've come across in a very long time. It's what made me discover and sub to this guy actually.
Just imagine this house 70 years from now.. It'll be for sale, and the house tours for this bad boy are going to be insane. Your work will live on forever :)
So this is the house… and down this ladder is an entrance to a secret labyrinth.
Get covered up, 70 years later.
We found a secret bunker/tomb. 23rd century history.
@Anel Zukic It is implied that Colin will not live forever and it could (potentially) go up for sale if no family members want it. Though, how could you turn down such a masterpiece?
i love this. ive always wanted to do something like this. good on you for actually doing it, cheers mate
The music in these Videos is always so good! Never heard any of it tho!
Idea for your hatch: Fireman's pole with an automated foot-plate that you can stand on to go up or down. You don't need to use it on the way down, but would make it awesome to get back up AND have the benefit of sliding down the pole!
Just what I was thinking!
1000X better than a lift
This is THE ONE!
The The Batpole from the Adam west tv show
Telescopic firemans pole ;)
or, just have the pole, with a platform on the top, (like hydraulic lifter under a steel plate) instead of a full lift :D
Will you be installing any Smoke or carbon monoxide alarms in the tunnel? Now that it has gotten extensive, and you will be working inside the tunnel extensively in the future, it would be nice to have a monitoring system to keep you safe until your completion, or even from now on?
Good point nbs
Especially since he’s planning on having a car lift down to the tunnel
Safety tie is all the safety need.
I already can imagine Colin holding a cage of canaries in the next episode.

It's safe to say we are digging his content
Colin, do you plan on getting a house appraiser to re-appraise your house after its complete? Im super curious how much value this would increase your house by. I also really want to see the appraiser's face as they explore it all.
In a previous video he mentioned that there's basically no way he could ever sell the house because of codes and regulations and things
@@Jmross808 no quite true, he stated that the bunker would have to be sold with a house instead of a house with a bunker. So basically the bunker would be listed first.
In some earlier Video, he mentioned that if he wanted to sell it, it would be better advertised as a Bunker with an attached house. Not the other way round
Now that would be a great video to watch.

Speaking of current events; Install a landline. Regardless of what happens, if you're stuck down there due to a cave in, exit blockage from a storm, or even if a criminal forces you to hide down there, you'll need a means to call for help. Cell phones are not reliable when their batteries go dead, or if you don't have it with you.
So, I say install a landline and set it up at the mid point. As you grow the tunnel, extend the line for another emergency phone. I also suggest adding a bell pull system to the outside of the garage and in the house. That way you can pull either to alert those nearby that you need help or they for your help. Because calling on a phone can waste time.
bell pull system would be cool
The land line needs to connect directly to the line with no batteries in the phone.
This is a very sensible, and practical idea... And I approve wholly. In keeping with the Furzesque nature of the channel however, I feel like an SOS button that triggers an air-raid siren, fireworks, and calls Optimus Prime would be keeping in theme. Maybe.
He'll have 4 different exits by the time he's done, if he can move enough to reach a phone he can probably get out too.
@@raymondhayes3299 , I wonder how many people today realize that old timey phones didn't need any electricity, except from the line and that one could make a phone call purely off the power coming from the phone line itself.
This makes me want to build a tunnel of my own! Love your work :)
Switch cupboard in the kitchen with some sort of little display area for statues on all 3 sides that would be nice to see climbing up
"If you are thinking about tunnelling up into your own house, come up in a bigger room. It will make your life much easier."
That's the kind of down to earth, practical, common sense advice we watch these videos for.
Maybe this will pioneer a new way to think about house design? I must admit that I already considered building secret passageways into my house (build from scratch) and some of the ideas I get from watching this are a lot easier when you can do it as you build the house in the first place :D
Down to earth... lol

Yes
I'm absolutely amazed at the amount of work and professionalism you are putting into this. Bravo.
Question, how are you planning on, keeping the steel from rusting out over time? I see some of the steel, being in direct contact with the soil.
Being from the UK myself I simply CAN NOT believe this is legal. My best guess is that anyone attempting anything like this is soooooo rare they are yet to put restrictions against it in place. Got to give you my utmost admiration for taking on a project of this size. My favourite series.
Depends where in the UK you are. Down here in London now council would ever approve planning for what he is doing but up north, againj depending where up norht you are some councils will approve it. Somebody did post in one of the other videos a link to the planning and it had actually been approved and the whole build has also been engineered to correct safety standars. If I find the video I will share it here.
I think he got approvals when he built his bunker so maybe he also got one for this.
The first bunker video I believe he got permission but the way it works iirc, is that legally that property is a bunker with a house on top of it.
either this project was actually approved by the city and will need to get inspected, makes you want to see the reaction of the people who had to approve this "I'm sorry you want to build what?" or there is a legal loophole or something
Hilariously enough this is all to code
Question: would you be willing to do a video/short where you get a realtor to come out and assess the value of your house? For bonus points, you can have them do an evaluation without knowing about the tunnels, then show them the tunnels and see how the price changes :)
Also, how does the wife feel about this? LOL
yes this
That’s a great idea would be hilarious to watch.
Only downside is that a bunker is a specialty item so the realtor would have no clue how to value it any better than the average joe using google to search them up 😂
The wife obviously doesn’t know
I think he already said that he technically can't sell his house anymore. He would have to sell it as a "bunker with a house on top."
This for sure, though I think he said it would have to be advertised as a bunker with attached house at some point in the past.
Thanks! Need to dig to a Shipping Container next!
This was amazing! For some reason I kept thinking this was the final video but it sounds like you're just getting started.
In the begining, colin explained that the project would have a phase from the garage to the house, a phase then extending the tunnel to the bunker and finally he talked about adding on a section towards the front of the house as things have progressed. The project has a lot to do yet but it is definitely amazing to see the progress.
He's the Furze, of course he's not done! He won't be until the thing has flame throwers and an underground docking station with blast doors for a nuclear powered jet pack. Lol
seeing the concrete go in every single void was so reassuring because for some reason I'm worried your house is going to spontaneously implode
Yes it looked solid
This series never gets old
Living out every mans dream for him.... I love it... This is now on my bucket list.. Thanks for the inspiration!!!
Great series, thanks for letting us follow every step. And Rick really is the unsung hero, he does all the work while they other guy is chatting on ;-). Two suggestions: 1/ A geological window, just a strip from top to bottom (or all the way around) where you still can see the the clay and limestone layers, would be interesting to see where you come from, possibly polished or with some nice lights. Second suggestion: Please tell us a little bit about the permitting procedure or whether you got a structural engineer, or are you really allowed to do whatever you want? Really curious about that, and I think many others as well.
ooo I like the idea of a geologic window. But having a section not reinforced by concrete might make an issue. Although it would be a great engineering issue to solve.
Yes, but rick ashley does sing so...
@@NickGreyden Maybe he could use (copious amounts of) epoxy resin in stead of concrete in this section.

A few suggestions for your bunker/ tunnel system.
1. A air scrubber system (for worst case real-world scenarios)
2. Automatted closing and locking doors like a panic room. Pneumatically/hydraulically powered of course.
3. A parrascope or visual aid other than camera system to see the outside world.
4. Surveillance/security system to monitor your Fort.
5. To fix the window issue install flat screens on the walls that replicate the outside world or better yet that are hooked to cameras that show the outside world.
6. Radio system and other communications system. I know this project was for fun but if you have it available why not be ready just in case.
7. A back up heat source other than your boiler system.
at that point, he should just dig a bunker UNDER his current bunker for a panic room.
edit: and definitely hydraulic instead of pneumatic. fluid does not compress, air does. A pneumatic door could be forced open.
I’m addition to a lift you could install a mobility aid for anyone who you want to show off this tunnel system to that may not be as mobile as you (disability, age, whathaveyou).
I’d definitely get some cages to secure around the lights in case you bring anything large down their that might accidentally smash into them. The lights could also be computer controlled so you have not only an emergency lighting system along the floor but also coloured lighting for the ceiling (because why not).
"2. Automated closing and locking doors like a panic room."
..hah, this is England.
@@JuicyBassline Haven't seen "28 Days Later" have you....
@Shane888 Davies a hand-powered pulley system maybe... I have not had the time to think about it.
For the entrance to the tunnel in the house, have you thought about having a batcave style entrance with a switch that moves a bookcase? Or maybe a slide or chair that takes you down like in thunderbirds? Definitely make the entrance concealed in the house to go with the feel of the whole project. Great work so far though.
Your best video so far. Keep it up, the entertainment value is above ground level. I been watching your videos for the past couple of years.
Andrew from Christchurch, New Zealand.
I love that logo in the intro, good job whoever designed that!
Not going to lie, at 15:56 that background of the exposed dirt/rock thats still in progress looks really cool. I can imagine what if instead of covered by concrete/steel walls, what if instead you can somehow keep something similar in a part of the tunnel behind glass/plexi as a nice visual feature without compromising safety or that area of the structure.
Agreed, it would look cool, and educationally revealing.
But after filling it with the concrete I'm afraid the look your going for would be hidden. I'm no expect but i would think the concrete adds a lot structural integrity.
Fill it with epoxy
@@dextermillen3559 Thinking outside the box, I love epoxy.
It may present other unforseen problems but I trust Colins expertise to figure out the right way if anyone can.
@@Huntsalot Epoxy is really bad for the environment, and not very structurally sound, it's terrible for construction.
QUESTION : Did you need to get any kind of planning permission for the tunnel (or the bunker)? or sign off from regulators around the safety side of it?
The legal and logistics behind this is something I really wanna know!!
I was about to ask this as well! I wonder if it was considered a basement extension similar to what the rich people in London get
Probably $$$$$$ gave permission =)
@@rinner2801 indeed
@@whitk034 But if you have it documented that defeats the purpose of having it secret.......
Surfing on the shark. Genius, bro!
You've done a GREAT job Colin! Don't know anyone who could build a tunnel as well as you have.
I don't know anyone who could build a tunnel in the first place :)
Thank you Colin for the enterainment and sharing your projects.
Questions for the next video:
1) How have you accomidated for ventalation throughout the entire tunnel? Do you have something to move the air around or filter from the outside?
2) Have you thought about an emergency notification system to people outside of the tunnel that someone is down there? Example: What you or someone else got hurt in the tunnel but could not physically climb out, maybe they have no cellphone and cannot physically move to the bunker?
3) Have you textured the ladders in any way to help prevent accidents suchs as materials drop on the steps? Example: Any oil or loose rock that some how falls on the ladders could cause dangerous accident.
4) Have you considered possible drainage incase there was a leak into the tunnel? Example: In the unlucky chance, say the water pipes in the kitchen burst and water floods into the tunnel. Would all of the electrical be safe and would the water have directed areas to drain or be pumped out?
5) Is there an consideration on additional storage in the house or underground now that a the pantry has less storage space?
Have a great day!
Great questions
These are the type of questions a health and safety manager would overract with, If you watch all videos closely you can see fans and the core ventilation holes Colin has drilled throughout the project. This project is not finished yet, and Colin will find a way with the ventilation no doubt. Question 5 isn't necessary, some newly built housed don't even have pantrys. Everything else is just common sense...
If this were my tunnel project, #4 would be my top concern, but I have a phobia about drowning that is somewhere below my phobias about heights and slugs.
This guy has 100% of my respect because he has never clickbated us when he says he's gonna do something it gets done. Thanks for the awesome videos man love em.
What You need is a Bookcase, Shakespeare head and switch and a Batpole. Awesome!!!!
That tunnel is awesome!!!
How do you deal with the moisture? I notice the steel is raw. How will you prevent it from rusting? Also, is there a floor drain/pump system in case the tunnel floods?
I had the same question, those panels will last maybe 10-12 years at best unless he coats them
@@WilliamBrinkley45 guessing from the stuff he painted on before insulting & flooring the tunnel, he is going to coat them
Judging by the earth and rock around him, the ground literally has no moisture for some strange reason. If most of us tried this, we'd have a muddy mess and a lot of water to contend with.
That clay soil is never going to hold moisture. Flooding would be the only way that steel would come in contact with moisture.
@@dakedres I’m concerned about the backside of these panels
the way that it hit the back of the washing machine i couldn't understand who must've been able, or been worked up enough to develop the arm strength, the fierceness, the anger involved after he woke up from the incident and he saw cars all out in front of his shake shack
Love your vids, eagerly waiting for next tunnelling episodes however I wish you would use your protective glasses / goggles more!
Speedy phase 2 Fix!
1. Dig tunnel to bunker from above ground with back hoe.
2. Prefabricate steel tunnel sections above ground and lower into trench then stitch together.
3. Back pour concrete and top off with soil.
It makes me smile every time when he is saying "secret" tunnel, while publishing every single dug meter 😁 I love this series very much ❤️
This is just a front so people don't look for the actual secret tunnel he has been building for three years.
@@terminator6199 it's all green screen, there is no tunnel :)
Well, we all know each other over here so it's Fiiine' :)
Remembering that local authorities surely have to know about this project breaks the immersion sometimes but this series is still amazing!
Yes! Underground garage with hydraulic lift for the car - can't wait to see that one finished! These tunnels look like the inside of a submarine - captain Nemo would like that. I hope no problems with condensation and moisture will arise in the future.
I thought he was ambitious just building the tunnels. When he announced the car park idea my jaw dropped. Can't wait to keep watching
@@RyanRostron right? And more often than not he delivers, I think I’ve only seen him fail once
This man is building the batcave before your very eyes
This is all so cool, and surfing the flying shark made me pay attention to the sponsorship promo.
..amazin Colin, brilliant. Best part by far was the Colin Furze branded jars and boxes of tea in the pantry, so funny and done just right, not too serious, fair dues mate, fantastic work!
This has been absolutely brilliant! You've basically just lived every man's childhood dream. Congratulations on being this awesome. The world needs more people like you!
So true literally living all of our childhood dreams and doing a great job of it!
Nah I think the world need people who are less into consummerism and more into living a simple lifestyle.
Environment is getting wrecked, homeless and world hunger are still extremely high, and then there are people building useless bunkers and tunnels in their garden, spending money to build flamethrower or trebushet...
I am not judging, it's his money and he does what he wants with it, but really, the world need less people like him and more people who actually do good for the world.
(Don't get me wrong, I do think his stuffs are cool and agreed with all what you said, except for that last part you wrote)
No , the world needs to allow more ppl to achieve these dreams . If we all just break our back working for big companies till we’re 70 years old it’s too late!
@@abeurakadabeura I see what you mean, but I think saying people should throw away what they want to do with there lives because it could adversely affect some people is just a bad take. I mean yes world hunger is high and homelessness is aswell but to have regular everyday people be held responsible for that isn’t right. Things like that should be held accountable by governments and more not by people in society.
Hey I built a fort with some boxes and pillows once, you should have seen it.
