Thank you so so much! I watched so many videos and after watching your video I finally understood. Other people called it option clicking and I didn’t understand but you explained it very well that you must press the option key and then click lol just a simple difference in expression and I understood perfectly. Thank you for saving me from hours of pain and frustration. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Aaah -thanks a lot ! I just knew about moving the audio level line within the clip before - I was still jumping from 71 to 79 percent, while I would need 75 - I couldn't reach it, which was really frustrating......thanks again...!
Job well done!. Like the last comment below, I have watched a lot of videos about this topic and it was frustrating. I always go back to this video, if I'm using iMovie and need a refresher course in editing the audio. The title of this video is very accurate because it does cover everything you need to know in a few minutes Thank You as well!
i cant delete the audio nore mute it ore put the volume down the audio stays fixed. please help been trying to fix this for 4 hours. i know how to deteach it just suddenly did not work anymore and its not working deleting the audio
I have a question, How do you reattach an audio file after you have detached it? Internet search says you can't do it, but it looks like you did!!! THX
I have a question: I recently recorded an intv with two people (my parents) with a lav mic on each of them. One of the mics was attached to my phone/camera, and the other to another phone/camera, which also recorded a video (only for the audio). How can I use the audio from both sources together? My original idea was to put one on the left channel and the other the right side, but I'm not seeing a way to do that in iMovie. At the very least though I'd like to just put both audio sources on top of each other. How would I do that in iMovie? Thanks for any input!
You used to be able to select and highlight and change the level and it would auto add the keyframes, I cannot get it to work anymore... I have to add 4 keyframes now, I have no ides what they changed
I can't hear your music or what you are doing with the sound. I can hear you talking but not what is actually going on. Not useful at all! Your ear buds are not useful to me.
Thousands of iMovie audio tutorials on UA-cam, and you're the only one who shows how to remove a cough.
THANKS!
Your explanations are by far the best on UA-cam! Thank you so much!
I can't even begin to thank you for this! You solved my problem within 4 minutes!!! thank you!
Some very useful information that I haven't seen in other videos,Thank you very much!

If I drag the audio to the edit bar, is it included in my movie files for that project?
Aaah -thanks a lot ! I just knew about moving the audio level line within the clip before - I was still jumping from 71 to 79 percent, while I would need 75 - I couldn't reach it, which was really frustrating......thanks again...!

Glad it was helpful!
What is option key? You keep talking about it, but what KEY are you pressing to remove that piece of audio at 3:50??
It's says option on it - it's to the left of command key on your keyboard.
If you’re creating a scene using clips from something else how do you change what their saying? That’s what I was looking for answers for
so much helpful, thank u for this
Thank you.
Thank you - I now see how to remove parts and not all the audio.... Again - Thanks for the video!!!
I using my iPad, is there a way to filter out extra air noise in the audio track?
How do you scan the audio? Is it all just by comparing it to the image alone? What if your video doesn't give you things like facial cues to guide by?
Hi this is great but can I do this from a video on my iPhone?
That only work on mac unfortunately.
Thank you, this was exactly what I needed. You made it very easy to understand.
Glad it helped! Let me know if you need help with anything else!
Huge Help! Thanks!
You gave me several new tricks that I didn't know about. Thanks so much!
Happy to help! :)
I guess your keyframe explanation was the best where you mention that OPTION key must be used. THANK YOU
I'm glad I could help! :)

Very helpful, great job! Thanks!
I've imported a 5minute audio clicp into imove, but when I add photos it changed the audio timeline... why is that?
Fantastic! Thank you!!!!!!!!!!
how do I re-attach an audio track?
Question - are you using a shortcut to reattach the audio? Thank you!
A very good lesson thank you
You are welcome!
Are imovie soundtracks allowed to be used in yt videos If monitized?
Yes! That's the beauty of those! No copyright issues :)
That is so great to know. Thank you!!
I have a question, How do you reattach an audio file after you have detached it? Internet search says you can't do it, but it looks like you did!!! THX
Do you mean you deleted the audio track and you are trying to put it back OR did you split the audio track and you want it back into one piece?
The first split second of my audio clip ("modern" music clip is VERY loud despite adjusting the volume
Hi, is ur demo editing done on a laptop or on an iphone ?
Laptop.
THANK YOU :)
Does iMovie offer a compressor for the audio track?
I don't think that it does.
Thank you so much!

You can just add both recordings into the workspace and align them. That's what I would probably do. I hope this makes sense.
@@MrsMusicalPants That's what I ended up doing... thanks for the response
Thanks!
I am getting issue in audio its quality is too low after after exporting the video can u please help me out
What audio file are you using? Also did you check the volume level of the audio in iMovie?
How to cut between markers?
You mean how to cut the video track?
thanks for teaching!
Start audio from single clip
imovie doesn't have audio clips inside like other editors?
What exactly do you mean by that?
My half of my imported audio for IMovie doesn’t work for some reason
Where did you import your audio from and what type of file is it?
Ty queen
You used to be able to select and highlight and change the level and it would auto add the keyframes, I cannot get it to work anymore... I have to add 4 keyframes now, I have no ides what they changed
I just forgot its hold the R to make the selection, then then you can adjust volume in the clip
Yeah you can do that or you can hold option key and click on the audio level to add keyframes one by one.
You forgot a major feature, background noise remover
Thank you, pretty
That is kinda sus.
but the vid is 7:36 long....
I can't hear your music or what you are doing with the sound. I can hear you talking but not what is actually going on. Not useful at all! Your ear buds are not useful to me.
