Welcome to Tyler's story here at Baldcafe. Tyler first noticed he was going bald in his late teens and it really progressed in his mid 20's. His work as a news reporter put him in the spotlight and his balding/hairloss began to make him feel very self conscious.
Tyler temporarily regained some of that confidence by using hair fibres and covering his thinning crown with hats but eventually became dependent on them. With his dating and social life also being negatively affected he knew it was time for a change.
We had kept in touch since last October and here he is to share his story in the hopes of inspiring others to push past that insecurity and go bald on your own terms.

Yeah bros, I stumbled across this channel altough i was from my 15y to now 27 shaving to 3cm hair never done to zero, i tried it month ago and still do it, bald rocks :)
Just graduated college with an engineering degree. Struggles with hair loss all throughout college. Start my first big job on Monday and I took the plunge and shaved my head. Couldn’t be happier. Thank you for what you do Harry.

Hair is obsolete and doesn’t make you who you are . Once I saw all the people I looked up to shave their head and even this channel, it helped me be comfortable with shaving it off and not care anymore. The feeling is so freeing like a weight off your shoulders. I no longer care about my angles or trying to hide my bald spots because I am free !
People are suffering from baldness,depressed and unable to find girl of their calibre,you are here spending your precious time watching bald men videos instead of talking with your significant other on how to start life if you are in love or how to run family,how to manage income if you are married.
Losing hair is so devastating when it happens in your 20s. It's like a part of your identity is gone that you are so used to looking at in the mirror everyday. I know how this guy feels. Depression, anxiety, and shame take over. It's so difficult to go out and meet women also 😪. But as time goes by, you will learn to accept yourself.
You literally see all that fear, anxiety, worry and stress leave his body as he shaved it off. Very brave of you dude, and everyone else on this page. It’s nothing to be ashamed of but sadly it’s something that men feel worried and ashamed of every day. No pun intended but hats off to you!

@tyler Thrasher Rock it man it suits you. I've been shaving my head since I was 26 and it used to be an insecurity so I know exactly how you feel brother. My wife always tells me I look exactly like Jason Statham minus the British accent 😂. That's a compliment so I own it. On the positive side it's super low maintenance and you not only save money on Barber's. But you can cut your own hair whenever you like. The moment you own it and stop thinking about what other people think. That's when you're finally living your life the way that you want to.
As men we have a lot more to deal with than hair loss. Shave it and move on.

I feel the need to share this! Since one week I have my head shaved. I didn't really know what to think at first. I mostly thought it kinda looked bad, but that was because I needed to get used to the look that I was so afraid of the last years. After a week it feels alot better! I actually like it most of the time, and it keeps growing on me. It feels so liberating.
Normally when I go for a ride on my bike I wore a hat or a hoodie, and if I didn't then I always was so self conscious about the wind knocking back my hair so that you could really see my bad hairline and thin hair on top. Today I felt great on the bike! No stress about the wind, I actually finally enjoyed the wind on my head again. This was the best choice I made in a long while. Sorry for the long ramblings, I really just wanted to share this here.

I had aggressive balding at 18 which made me a Norwood 5 at 19. I shaved it off at 20 and quit shaving for a month at 22 and I’m a Norwood 6. I keep it smooth

When the singer Van Morrison started to go bald in the mid 1980s he grew his hair longer at the sides and started a combover!! Now that’s exactly what you never do!!! Bro we all been there we all had the same thoughts and concerns but when you shave your head and finally say enough is enough you feel liberated and you realize it was just you thinking what people would think about you I think you look better with a shaved head and most of us do, so don't beat yourself up over it, I also shaved my head years ago and it was greatest feeling ever! And actually a lot of people tell me I look better with a shaved head, then I did with hair!, lol, just rock it bro!!

Mine wasn't the worst case by any stretch and I could probably get away with it now, but I still knew that it was thinner on top and you knowing is what does the damage. If you're going through it, shave it off, hit the gym and enjoy the rest of your days being happy, healthy (mentally and physically) all whilst looking like an absolute badass. 🤘🏻 All of us who've come out the other end will all tell you that you'll never look back.
