5:00 This thing looks a lot like an Ion Cannon Frigate, which is a standard mainline unit you make by the dozens in Homeworld 1. And it absolutely dwarfs the Kapisi, which is itself massive and far larger than our actual aircraft carriers. Really brings home an awe-inspiring sense of scale.
You haven't got enough salvages and you need to grab every resource before the next mission or you cripple your fleet in the long run because it doesn't get auto-picked up post mission
i love the radio commentary, i wish they had avatars running around on the deck to give a perception of size like a real aircraft carrier. I've been getting man handled in this game, it plays a lot different than what i'm used to
Last time you hated Baserunners. Why? They are one of the most useful units! With the right upgrades they can deploy probes, sensors, turrets, AA and mines. #Baserunnerlove
The defense using constant air support was cool! reminds me of the "Chainsaw" tactic that the US Navy had for F14 Tomcats. In situations where a carrier battle group came under attack from the enemy, every available F-14 would scramble with a heavy missile loadout, intercept the threat, return to the carrier, re-arm with this arrangement, and continue until the enemy attack ceased. Thought maybe youd think that was cool.
As a heads up, try and get some veterancy with your units, the boosts are excellent, and well worth it. Also, remember you get boosts to damage while in High Terrain (blue "+" symbol). Also, the "Home" key is excellent to multitask Air Strikes without switching to and from the Kapisi.
In Homeworld games, I like to zoom into 3rd person view on Interceptors (Small and fast unit). Cause Homeworld made a "beautiful and hectic" combat between space ships. Never tried Desert Kharak yet but it sure look fun too.

You can see the kiith soban sigil on the khar toba. but kiith soban is a "new" kiith that was formed natively on kharak during or before the heresy wars. Even the kiith sigil head is supposedly that of a skaal tel or skaal fa predator from the kharakian desert. But the new updated wiki says this. homeworld.wikia.com/wiki/Kiith_Soban "Although Kiith Soban's symbol was found in Khar-Toba's ruins during Operation Khadiim alongside six other Kithiid symbols, it's not certain if it's always been theirs, or if they took it from one of their original home Kiithid." I saw this game when it first come out, and I was like ‘looks cool, I’ll get it some time’. Still on my steam wishlist with 123 other games. Definitely top priority now though! BTW Favourite truck is the Toyota Hilux. May be old, but it’s tough! (Refer to Top Gear for Evidence)
Are we at a tech disadvantage??? The enemies can build their vehicles that can hover while we have to build on tracks and wheels. Very easy to get caught by the Enemy if the wind didn't cover the trails and gets discovered by an enemy scout. Edit: 2:08 Yes, there's even a snow dessert!!! The sand dunes are as high as a mountain, resulting in snowfall.
Coalition is indeed behind in tech, since the Gaalsien were able to reverse engineer technologies from the crashed Khar Toba. However, what they lack in mobility, they make up for in raw firepower. Coalition Battlecruisers are considerably more robust than Gaalsien
This looks like a awesome game, I like it has a story arc you follow and give a sense of you really making a difference. I would like to know if there is any replay value or is it just a single campaign?
Just a Heads up for those who do not know already... This is the Prequel to HomeWorld and HomeWorld II... So many of the gameplay aspects are similar if not identical in many respects but, it appears they have upgraded them quite a bit... I've got this on Steam already but, simply haven't ahd the time to try it out... I definitely will after seeing this though...
Im a fan of the homeworld franchise, own all the games, the originals I liked a lot the original 1&2 versions, and Cataclism. This game had so much potential, but is too short..
you play in very low angle and that makes the view not very good and actually annoying to watch if you raise the camera a bit you can see better and control the game in a better way

I hoppe most watching this knows...the art style is the same like homeworld..the first game just better resolution becuse ...hardware & software improvments durp... so well...if anything it be world in conflict that borrowed a style from homeworld to be a paur with XD rather then vice verse.
this game is look nice only , but the game play experince are very lousy , very bad .... i don't know why the graphic so nice , sound effect so nice , but the game play so bad . u need keep make yourself so busy for this game , and this game always start in very low resource , not easy to build more forces like what i play in General Zero hour , Total Annihilation . i miss those game so much , still the best RTS is General Zero Hour and Total Annihilation . no wonder this game not popular at all , the issue in Skirmish : 1. game target are steal resource and its not automatically . 2. hard to build large amount force unit. 3. limited resource , very hard collect resource , you have to wait long time only can get secondary resource receiving station 4. wait for upgrade ,its waste time 5. AI are so hard , even in easy mode , you wouldn't enjoy this game as a beginner . 6.. the air force are keep hiding in ground carrier . i wondering how good this game designer follow the international rules of engagement so well . even its under attack , they just keep drink beer inside the ground carrier . 7. i just bore with the game designer , in RTS they don't auto sum up the war factory , barrack(not see in this game , this game even worse , everything from 1 ground carrier to build ) and let us just click the amount of the unit , and its auto build from different factory . i think the real world you would leave your war factory stop work during war , just add as much as possible to get the large amount of combat unit.

No, and the ai in skirmish is really dumb and on hard they'll need to cheat to pose a threat better to go for multiplayer or against multiple ai
