- David Mitchell leads by example and outlines some of the many ways he likes to live his life... But, of course, not all of these are true...
0:00 - "My weekday breakfast regime is always as follows - Monday, cornflakes, Tuesday, cornflakes, Wednesday, cornflakes, Thursday, cornflakes, and on Friday, jazzy cornflakes."
2:20 - "I like pens. And I like to know where my pens are. For this reason, I have a three-point pen policy."
6:03 - " One of the codes I live my life by is that my appearance should be in no way noteworthy. But then again, not so unnoteworthy as to be, in itself, noteworthy."
9:08 - "Victoria doesn't know this, but on those very rare occasions that she does something that annoys me, I get my own back by sneaking upstairs and moving her bookmarks."
Would I Lie to You? is the hit BBC panel show where two teams of celebrity guests try to figure out whether their opponent's ridiculously far-fetched statements about themselves are true or, in fact, a lie.

My favorite part of these is that for the true ones, David isn't even really trying to play the game anymore. He's so eager to share his worldview through these codes, and is deadly serious and earnest in his passionate explanation of the cards' content.
Except, he is playing the game, moreso in fact. Your opinion only comes from after the fact of knowing whether its true or not. So its waffle. Like all comments on here

That is one of the hardest times I've laughed on the show 😂😂😂
Oh you’re on the show now are you? 🤔
@@TheRealRobertG you did not just talk to bbc key grip david groendyk like that
@@benjaminqmorris Ach! I didn’t realize I was speaking to WILTY’s best boy.. I do apologize. Laugh “on”, sir.
For me, the bookmark bit is the funniest ever moment on WILTY. We're ALL invested in David and Victoria's relationship.
it was good to see them utilise the parasocial relationship we have with david and victorias marriage.
When it come to celebrity couples, David and Victoria (Mitchell) are the thinking man’s David and Victoria (Beckham).
I love seeing David be a bit more proud of his jokes when Victoria’s on lol
Royal wedding and this
@@alejandroyepezI care about this relationship a Lot more than the royals!
"That's exactly what she thinks" was delivered so brilliantly 😂 no one does maniacal glint quite like David
The bookmark one is one of the best. Any interaction between Victoria/David/Lee is great, and we get that in spades.
Lee's teammates being supportive of Victoria and David while Lee is trolling is fun, and the "But also, David doesn't like you" comment and the resulting exchange is so good lol
I loved the 'yes well off course i's true" moment
he made a whole video about it after all 🤣
convinced this show is still going on just so david and lee can hang out and chat whilst the others just sit there and give the illusion of a gameshow
Fair play to the producer who prepared the “Lie” card at the last minute at the end to save a long drawn out divorce process
12:35 "adequate colleague" sums up the whole episode and their relationship
I love the expression on Victoria's face when the bookmark item was read out. Priceless!
she is priceless.
David and Victora make so much sense and fit so well as a couple that it loops back around to being unbelievable.
I love the pen bit. It's so petty, David makes himself look extremely unhinged and psychopathic, Miles is GLUED to the story and Lee does what he does best
Who is the more unhinged and psychopathic though? The man rightfully concerned for the fate of his pens, or the callous liar and brutal killer?
The pen bit reminds me of the behind-the-scenes Mitchell and Webb sketch where Mitchell elaborately refuses to lend Webb a pen.
I also enjoy it, even if it is a bit painful in places. You can tell Lee thought the percentage chance it was a lie is about the same percentage David thought the Wok cookbook was a lie, and he thought it would make for great drama. You can also kind of see David realizing the comedy gold about to unfold and grudgingly decides it’s worth it. I do often wonder what went on behind the scenes after that particular episode was filmed.
I don't get this attitude.... because I feel the same way about pens. There's quite a few of us. I realise this is just a comment on a UA-cam clip, no matter, but calling it "psychopathic" is way, way off.
OCD is more like it
I love Victorias face when says he moves her bookmarks... You can almost see her noticing time they've moved.
Or being worried that it might happen
Shuffling someone's bookmarks is absolutely the work of an evil genius!! That said, I've got to admit that David and Victoria really are the perfect couple! David is totally my hero!
I have just realised that those are the first names of the Beckham's, as well. At first I thought I was so mistaken as to be going slightly mad. At 03:58 am!
@@paulgerardhosty9909 David should bring out a scent. It could be called "Whiff".
Cannot get over how dead his eyes look while he shouts "absolutely not"
3:39
I share Davids feelings about pens 🖊. I love pens. I will lend you it, and then obsess internally until i get it back 😂
2:48....look at how intently Miles is listening.....
"The worlds fate depends on you getting this one right, Miles!!"
12:41...."i still find you an adequate colleague"
Higher praise has never been given.....
12:28 "But he doesn't hate me, right?" *Everyone turns to look at David* ---Noooo. 🤣 Kills me every time.
Turns out "Jazzy Corn Flakes" are a real thing -- and they even appear to be chocolate corn flakes.
Two of my absolute favourite panel show regulars here. I've always fantasised about Victoria and David in the same team. One percent chance of disaster, 99 percent chance of hilarious.
And here it is! And it is in fact ...
So many best moments 'so unnoteworthy to be in itself noteworthy' 'it is in fact a failure in personal hygiene' 'just to do with things shes said or done' 'yes those are the main two types'
"I'd say somewhere between 6 and 9"
David Mitchell is so humble. if I was as accomplished as David Mitchell, I'd be constantly bringing up in conversation that I was accomplished enough to be married to Victoria Coren Mitchell, who seems to only suffer fools in the most British way possible.
Mitchellism. A philosophy we should all live by.
And I don't think that's too grandiose a term to describe it
And it's not a term so unnoteworthy that it becomes noteworthy!
The world would be a nightmare. David is lovely but if everyone was like him, it would be hell on earth.
“Normal would be an exaggeration.” 😂
That pen was dead to me. David you rock
And THAT's where our licence fee goes! A perfectly fine pen snapped in half just to get a laugh... I'll get the petition started.
What are we going to sign it with? 😭
@@Jamie_Pritchard 😂
when i clicked this, no video loaded. just a black screen. Knowing David, as i do, I kinda feel like this is right.
When David got back home after he lost the pen he cried himself to sleep
I'm exactly the same if I lend someone my pen, it's as if my life gets put on hold until I get it back. I must admit that I begin to doubt my sanity at that stage.
And the next day, he broke into Lee's house and moved all his bookmarks.
@@John_Smith_60 😂
9:37 "Yes that's exactly what she thinks!" 😆😆
Was rather hard looking at a teary eyed David with visible disappointment, as Lee broke his pen.
I have now attempted a modified version of Jazzy Cornflakes (Not a chocolate-flavoured things person) with Strawberry Milk. Lovely!
You reckless rebel you!
Hmm how noteworthy of you
How does one milk a strawberry?
The humour on this show is amazing 😭😭 lol 😂
Of course the pen thing was true! What were you thinking, Lee??!!?
This is some of their very best. Really enjoyed this one
The only thing I don't like about this show is that there's never a small section after each round where they get to expand and talk in more detail about their card etc...
You have to think they discuss i further, they must, it's natural. It's such a shame they don't show it, the show should be twice as long and feature more of this.
i could’ve sworn they used to on older episodes but i might be getting it mixed up with other panel shows
9:25 The series of looks on VCM’s face! 😆
david really brings out the absolutely best in lee mack LOL
Any sensible person shares David’s attitude to pens. My personal refinement is that no-one is allowed to use my fountain pens so I keep the odd very cheap satan stick (biro) for those insensitives who ask to borrow a pen.
I m older than colour tv and i have to say
" this show is in the top 10 of all time "
Yes yes it is.❤❤❤
Honestly the chocolate milk with cornflakes is a genius idea
I love the pen policy. I am exactly the same with pens!!
"It's not perfectly reasonable" 😂
There's nothing wrong with keeping track of your pens. Last time I loaned out a pen, the guy lost it within literally a single minute. And that was a _nice_ pen. If I loan out a pen, I'm watching them use it like a hawk until the moment it's back to me.
That was such a well scripted well thought out and well presented program, both mum and i love the musical film, but having seen all sources, we feel a deeper connection with the characters. So thank you very much.
David Mitchell is the only person who can ever get Lee Mack to shut up lol. They have such great chemistry.
I love the bit with him and his wife Victoria!
I can't bear to rewatch the pen one
Philip 9th March will not allow y 13:33
everyone knows it's brown bread with white for dessert, but the real secret is he actually loves brown bread.
What a gem!
How can someone be so funny? He just cracks me up 😅
Miles Jupp makes every lie more enjoyable.
This channel is back!!! Really great edit
That was a fab roast on David by the woman who suggested he may not be as boring as he appears 😂
Ah Victoria, she is lovely and loveable especial with her enigmatic smile of hers....
David is the best
A wonderful modeling of how to laugh at once self.
He wrote that pen off as soon as he gave the pen to Lee
I hadn’t seen that first clip before, and got a jolt of delight from the sight of Steph McGovern. Theres something intoxicating about her melange of accents, particularly when coming out of _her_ face. 😍
Love Lee but breaking the pen was a shitty move!
My fav show!
Isn't there an old Mitchell and Webb skit about David needing Robert to sign a contract to borrow his pen, I knew it was true immediately based on this old skit
“I literally never thought of it until now.” Lie.
What I'd like is the pen story immeadiately followed by anotehr story where Lee asks for an item and David hesitates and Lee admits that he has form and understands why David is hesitant.
david looks like a smug little fly rubbing his hands together at 0:27
Every single person in that studio, celebrity and audience member alike, were about to jump on David for “jazzy cornflakes” until he said “chocolate milk”
“Oooohh!!” 😂
The look of utter disappointment on David’s face when Lee destroys the pen. It makes me feel so sad; I’m a pen lover sympathizer.
12:30 -- I love how her neck swivels around to check if David does in fact hate Lee.
To be married to Victoria would be something else she has always been mesmerising.
Biggest problem was David actually eating cornflakes... Just not possible. They weren't so popular in Tudor Britain.
Just the first ever 2 time ept winner and 5 random strangers ❤
Oh god the last bit had me fucking crying :D
"I think he might" 😂
I think he was talking about me with the pen one. 😂
CORNFLAKES CORNFLAKES CORNFLAKES ...Wasnt that THE YOUNG ONES ??? I love David
the face david made when lee broke the pen was the same one he made when lee told them he was invited to the royal wedding and they werent.
David is my pen twin.
10:41 She rescued him
9:55 *RELATIONSHIP GOALS*
"Why wouldn't you put the milk in first and then the cereal."
Because he's not a monster.
Listening to David explain why he has chocolate milk on a Cornflakes on the Friday and then remembering that I have Cacao in my overnight oats only on a Friday.
I like Lee Mack, I do, but I love David.
Fun!
As an avid bookworm I genuinely don’t understand why they kept saying it was such an awful thing to do. Like yes, it is a petty revenge, but a truly awful thing to do would be to throw the entire book out.
She would know if eight books of hers disappeared every time she had a problem with David. The bookmark scheme could go on for years.
In a healthy marriage you shouldn’t ruin what the other person enjoys just because you have a petty grievance with them. Getting all confused with reading a book because your bookmarks were messed with doesn’t warrant divorce or abuse, I 100% grant that, but it’s just an inconsiderate thing of a partner to do instead of maybe discussing their reason for being irritated with them. If a partner would do that IMO it’s a sign of emotional immaturity and no willingness for conflict resolution.
@@beomgguks970 I completely agree it’s not a good or healthy thing to do. I’m just saying on the scale of things one could do while annoyed with their significant other, this is on the low end for me, while they were making a big deal out of how AWFUL it was. I’m sure it was probably mostly for comedic effect, the joke just fell flat for me because my response if someone did that to me would be an eye roll over their immaturity, not “HOW DARE YOU?”
it's an awful tging to do because you're ruining the reading experience by doing that.
It’s a healthy injection of Gaslighting 😂
Resistant crunchiness.
Cornflakes and toklat milk sounds bangin
Lee and David play comedic ping pong
0:52 The anticipation of something nice happening is almost invariably nicer than the thing itself has to be the millennial motto.
And there was I thinking I was a bit odd because I read 4 or 5 books at any one time!
I have trouble reading one.😂😊
10:50 swear I can hear jimmy carr.
Ah...but just because he hasn't done the bookmark thing doesn't mean he never thought about doing it. 😆
"ABSOLUTELY NOT"
Please can you make subtitles available for the deaf and hard of hearing. Thanks.
Hahahahah, so funny, I love him so much!! Wish he was my husband, nay, my lover. Shame he’s not greek cud that’s my type
Who else has a gray tie?
Does anyone else imagine they are on this show and make up jokes?
How many people think he said the bookmark one was a lie to save his marriage/upset Lee?
5:00 The face of a man who was bullied throughout his school career.
Nice to have confirmation that David subscribes to the gray man theory.
David and Larry David would be such good friends
A beard an achievement or failure in personal hygiene. Hehhe
