@@davidrockefeller2007 oh weird :/ I haven't noticed anything when going from 1-2. I test drove the car both locally and on the highway to see if that was the case bc i read reviews that many faced the "jerkyness". Thank u though, u were very helpful again.
At least they got rid of that God awful beak that Acura loved to slap on their cars. Still, Acura is not the sexy car company of the 90's. They need to pump more life and style into their lineup again, they could use a good little 2 door Integra again!!!
Well many good things are gone, no matter how much people liked them. This new grille is nice but the beak is stylish. I loved Acura ZDX. And Fiat Multipla. And Aztek is a nice car. I just follow my own taste.
N1GHT5 Then you must be the only one who liked the aztek haha and the Fiat for that matter. Acc0rd79 i think they just don't have the idea of premium brand, looking at this car here. Same as most of American brands though. But even the premium Audi brand struggles to catch up, having a VW front wheel drive platform as a base...
great review you were spot on. I traded in my 08 for a 2017 and thought the same of the interior. definitely should have had luxury materials especially in the shift selctor area, and around infotainment. a digital dash would have been nice as well. all the tech from 2017 pilot should have been transfered over .especially that nav knob
TheRyansLion I drove it a couple of weeks ago. It's nice. Autodrive was correct about The infotainment system - meh. The 9 speed automatic - meh. I already had an experience with a similar 9 speed auto in a rental car - it wasn't great. However, we did look at it because of all the standard safety features (explained), insurance crash test, and CR's maneuverability ratings. It's a nice car, but meh.
We’re looking at a 2017 but my wife right now has a 2010 mdx with 279,000 miles and still running good … it’s the year that has a oil consumption issue and burns oil but I only have to add less then half a Quart a week

the second row seats does not recline at all! it’s very uncomfortable for the back row passengers to relax on a long road trip, when I pointed this out to an Acura dealership salesman he told me that the passengers can always rest their head on the side door windows.. Lol!! smh.
When it comes to refreshing their cars, Acura has missed opportunties that Honda has seized when refreshing one of their models. Honda gave the refreshed Accord Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, when Acura didn't do that for ILX, RDX, & even this MDX which sucks for people buying the current-gen versions of those cars
Alright you sold it ... adaptive cruise, brake hold & guess it has 360° on all around viewing all for $34k instead of the new Enclave $50k that only recently offered adaptive cruise in their '22 model
actually Lexus uses mostly their own switch gear, Lexus uses a unique interior architecture, Lexus uses their own sound dampening and chassis tuning, Lexus uses completely different material palates in the interior. Acura does not.
i never said drive train or chassis sharing was an issue, just suspension tuning, interior, switch gear, materials. these are the things that set vehicles apart.
um, at least Audi offers a unique interior palate, different architectures, and completely different suspension / chassis tuning. funn thing is the NSX is one of my top all time cars too... "hater" *bitch please*

7 people in comfort - eh, really? If the second row was roomier, there was an off chance of pushing those seats forward just a little bit to accommodate the 3rd row passengers. That not being the case, calling this 7 people in comfort is not accurate.
I like the MDX's very capable and sporty engine compared to its competitors. However, I can't bring around to purchase the car after looking at the weird angles and busy cluster fuck controls. The dash looks very cheap with that plastic material. Nope, not for me. Maybe if they do something about that dash and controls.
Acura has a lot to learn about how to paint cars. Before you buy, take a good look at the paint in the shade and away from the sun. Paint spray marks and blotchy areas are very apparent on the top surfaces. They say this is normal and their CEO is in on it to. Buy the Audi!
the grill looks out of place. I prefer the Acura shield compared to this diamond hexagon grill. Acura needs to come up with a better infotainment system. the dual screen set up is one screen too many.
Acura is a lost brand! They don't know what their doing and it's easy to see! Their cars have become boring, stale tech and not excitement! BRING BACK THE OLD ACURA
If WV group is still making cars then Acura is not lost brand at all. If Europeans still making cars then Acura is still among the top of quality cars that are out there.
And Acura still can't figure out the luxury sedan market. The RLX has to be one of the saddest vehicles on sale today. It doesn't compete, reliability is subpar, and no one's buying it. Why does Acura keep it around?
MTEK You must be one one of the saddest human beings in the whole world, you can't appreciate an honest car maker and you give support to crooked European car makers, why do you still call yourself a human being?
What do you mean I used the wrong car... The RLX is relevant to "Acura is a lost brand". And it's not the only model with problems. Take the ILX, for example -- _Consumer Reports_ lists it as one of "7 Cars Owners Regret Buying". Or how about the TLX V6 -- CR has its predicted reliability down as "much worse" and lists its engine, transmission, brakes, power equipment, and electrical system as potential trouble areas. Those are the kind of problems one expects from German brands, not a Honda company!
The bad thing is the 9 gear transmission. It stinks. It has a very difficult time finding the right gear anytime you 'drive' the car. It is bad enough to take it off my short list.
This interior is nothing special for a luxury SUV. The interior on my wife 2015 Honda Accord is quite similar to this interior. my old 2009 Acura TL interior was way better than this MDX. The only thing good about this car is the SH-AWD and the new front end.
I would buy this car if weren't for the outdated infotainment system. Acura is a premium brand and they should add apple car play to their vehicles, even Ford and Subaru already have that.
ugly interior compared to some other cars in its segment (including nonluxury SUV) also has poor shifts when I drove it And, most of all (for me at least), it has no digital speedo. Put the money towards a q7 instead.
The J35 is an incredible strong engine. However, all hope that Honda is going to make a high horsepower variant of this engine is lost. However, if Honda's Acura division is to "compete" it needs a downsized 3.0Liter twin turbo to compete to give it an edge. Hyundai has already surpassed Acura with its Genesis brand. Acura don't let Kia surpass you as well.
Acura isn't interested in high performance, been this way for quite a while. No change. They have no such turbocharge V6 in R&D. Hybrid V6 for this platform will come out soon which will give more low end torque to satisfy some criticism, but overall output just a little higher.

This is a very indirect competitor to the Lexus RX.

Nice car but the Lexus rx is a better buy.
Heyu Yoma false
Heyu Yoma Lexus rides better than any Acura

RX = Fridge on wheels

The Rx front end is really ugly. Ridiculous looking. Even worse than the old acura "beak". The front end looks like an electric razor lol
acura lost its DNA!

why would anyone buy this car over a pilot? for the badge maybe.
what is new car this bad economy

acura is a mess! they need to be consistent with their models
ugly interior compared to some other cars in its segment (including nonluxury SUV)
also has poor shifts when I drove it

Ugly grill design for a luxury car, It doesn't even look better than a CR-V from the exterior!

Ugly inside and out. QX60 and CX-9 look so much better inside and out.

it is made in usa and not japan
It looks bad....like, really bad.
Its consumers fault for giving them money and they keep producing ugly shitty cars, I would compare this crap with a KIA maybe.
Dang Honda makes some ugly cars nowadays lmao

Chris Jones Acura drives much better compared to the Lexus.
good video bad car
first
It looks AWFUL.

This car is so ugly...
