We always tend to think about doing things right, whereas it's important to just do it. :) I think this is the best advice on meditation, especially for beginners, it takes a lot of the pressure out of it. Mindful greetings, Simple Happy Zen

this really helped me, because i stopped trying and my worry that i wasnt doing it right just went away..then i was able to really focus on my breathing and my body movment wen i would inhale and exhale..i got kind of a little fright when i went deeper and the dark light kind of turned orange it was like someone putting a blanket over me then i came out of it..but i think im getting there

I have a very active monkey mind and if I am not able to follow the instructions or experience what others have achieved, I scold myself and think that something is wrong with me. I tried your suggestion to start with 5 minutes and just focus on my breathing. I am able to zone out successfully but I do visualizations in different times of the day, when I feel like it and when I feel good. I am taking baby steps and doing it on my own pace.
Today started with meditatión in my Bed I begin relaxing all my body and i put mi mind comcomplely blank. But something happened I does not exist until I wakeup. strange i woke fully recharged mental and fiscal . what do wrong?
It sounds like you did something right, not "wrong". If you felt "recharged mentally and physically" I'd say things went well. . .Normally, you don't want to do Mediation in bed, because you may fall asleep. And sleep is not what you want when trying to Meditate.
