I liked the comment below about the authenticity of a lady. I can totally underline that. Last month I did a online color analysis session with Giulia and it was basically like stepping into her UA-cam video. Very thorough preparation and clear walk trough. Also she chose colors different from the videos, where I could find myself looking very good instantly - and I did not like the color before 😂. You girls are a blessing. Really helping by practice, not only talking talking talking. Many sponsors will follow, you found your niche! bravo 🎉
@@Reneemfennyes it's worth it. It was 160 us. I believe. I've been wearing the wrong colors my whole life! I thought I was neutral/cool. Turns out I'm fully warm! Since my analysis, I've been wearing my warm spring colors and loving it!! I'm so excited to change my hair color. They also answered my questions after analysis via email. I waited till I had extra $$. But I wish I would've done it sooner bc it'll save me money in the long run. No more cool makeup and no more cool gray clothing. I bought some things before my results and Alot of them are cool. I have some exchanging to do for sure but I know it'll be worth it to get warmer colors from my palette. 😊
Allegedly there is a quote from Coco Chanel. Along the lines of: If the dress is right you will notice the woman, else you will notice the dress. (In my language we have the saying of the dress / or the coat / suit is wearing you.- Either it is too large or the colour is too intense).
I agree! So interesting. I wonder why that is! Like scientifically what’s happening as our eye observes cool layered on warm vs warm layered on cool, and what’s the difference?
@@Daymickey I think it's because a cool undertone has blue/purple in it, and yellow/orange is opposite on the color wheel. So on a cool person, the yellow/orange contrasts and makes the blue/purple look more blue/purple and the yellow/orange look more yellow/orange. The result is that Guilia's skin looked bruised and ashy against the orangey makeup. Additionally, the eye will perceive the warmer colors first. In the video, when I saw Guilia in the warm colors, all I could see was orange. And I do think you would see the same impact on the flipside-- someone with strong warm undertones would look jaundiced in blue-purple colors. A major difference with Alessandra's makeup was that by applying pinks and purple-pinks, and her natural colors are orangey-reds, she was really creating an analogous color scheme (red-orange, red, red-purple). When you have an analogous color scheme, it draws your eye toward the middle of the spectrum of colors (in this case, the red). I think if Alessandra had put on indigo eyeliner with a shimmery icy pink eyeshadow and lipstick that leaned more magenta you would have seen the same effect on her (whereas on Guilia it would be dramatic but not over-the-top). On most cool people, the toxic colors really are clustered around the yellow-orange, orange, and red-orange space on the color wheel. There's also a general trend right now toward monochromatic or analogous color palettes, and neutral colors. All the browns, tans, khakis, etc fall into that orangey space. The cool neutrals usually aren't really variants of the cool colors. But if you put a warm person in slate, indigo and pale mauve, it would look just as bad as a cool person in rich brown, pumpkin and tomato.
@@Daymickey It might be also because in general warm tones look healthier and more robust, especially springs. Cool toned skin is more prone to dark circles, redness, capillaries etc. I’d say warm tones might look cartooney or clownish in wrong Colors, whereas cools are more prone to appear unhealthy or tired.
I'm a deep winter but everone always told me I was warm. On my old pictures I look pretty much just like Gulia here. My palette was heat by UD so my eyelooks were very much orange based. I cant even believe how I was leaving the house everyday looking like a total clown.
Sometimes film and TV costume and makeup designers dress actors in their worst colours if the character is supposed to look awkward or out of place. As the character's story develops, the colours change to better colours
This was a fun and interesting vid. Amazing to see the differences when your makeup is not in palette. Both of you looked "older". For Ale, she looked more gray and the eyebags became pronounced. For Guilia, the 2nd makeup made her look like a clown - just so wrong. Thanks again, ladies! Congtsts on the sponsor. 👍🏼🥂
As a makeup artist, thank you for this video! You are giving so much insight here and answer so many evident whys in makeup application, its crazy! Color is crucial for makeup! I’m not afraid to say, it is the most important! Wrong colors completely destroy appearance, however skillfully they may be applied and on the other hand, right colors do 60% of the job!
I'm always frustrated by WHY IS UNDERTONE SO EASY TO SEE ON ANYONE ELSE BUT YOURSELF??? However, this video gave me a good idea to start discarding the makeup and colours that clearly don't suit me until I'm eventually left with my palette!!! Can't wait to see this channel grow, congratulations on your sponsor and much love from Spain ❤
I love watching y’all interact with one another. It’s clear that you two are great friends and business partners. The camaraderie is honestly just a joy to watch.
When I was a teenager Avon typed me as a "cool" and put basically summer makeup on me. I am a spring warm. Your experiment reminds me of that experience. The colors were so obviously wrong on me. Mom and I looked at each other and made our escape. I got my colors done professionally soon after and got warm spring. As soon as I put the colors on my skin lit up like it was being lit from within. Big difference. I never looked back.
Avon did you and your mother a favor ;) The AVON assessment and result was so obviously wrong that it vey clearly showed you the power of wearing the right (or in your case the wrong) colours.
OMG, colors are amazing! Alessandra said that she never uses concealer because she doesn't need it, but with the cool toned makeup her eye bags were emphasised. With the warm tones the eye bags were really gone. Amazing 🤯
This is excellent - with info most color analysis videos aren't sharing. I have that same combination of "autumn eyes" and blue/purple under-eye circles. I've had hair stylists tell me I must be warm because of my eye color, but there has never been a shade of orange that's ever liked me.
Yep, the rookie analysis, your hair and / or eye colour is xxx so you must be yyy type. There are even cool true red heads (even though they are very rare), many but not all freckled persons are warm types, and there are blond winter types (again not that common, and if so they will have natural platin blonde hair). And no, a person of color (Afrian descent very dark skin) still can have a warm or cool undertone - even though that distinction becomes less important, right intensity will be more crucial for looking good). IF a person fits the common colour combinations (certain hair and eye colours for certain types are indeed more common) it will come out soon enough. However typecasting too soon also takes away from really SEEING the effects of the fabric swatches on the skin and the appearance of the face. The armchair colour analysts do not have swatches of fabrics to quickly change between two shades of a white, blue or red. Which makes it visible even for the untrained eye. When I would not know them - looking at Giulia I would suspect she could be an autumn or a winte. But for an analysis one must have a fresh eye and an unbiased perception (as opposed to a preconceived notion like this person must be yyy. If she truly is, it will come out in the process and one will SEE it). As for Alessandra If she would be treating her (regularily occuring) redness as PART of her natural colouring - I would even test some blue / green / grey summer colours on her. Yes they take a bit of colour away from her - which means the redness would be reduced to being a bit rosy. That could be quite flattering and she could go without the corrective foundation. Which CHANGES her natural face colour a lot. I like that they cover the hair with a white scarf in the first round (an Irish style consultant Sarah Ryan, TheStyleConsultant uses a transparent shower cap, which is even better *) so in the first round hair colour does not matter. * A white scarf (when the walls are also white) reflects the most light. However it could be a bit harsh on some persons (if they are soft springs or autumn types). In the shower cap the hair does not take up a lot of surface AND the clear plastic dulls down the natural hair colour significantly - but it is not reflective. Whether bright white suits a person (or not at all) we will not show up in the world covered with a bright white head covering. So the shower cap allows to fully cocentrate on the face (no distraction by hair, which can be coloured anyway) w/o introducing an element that does not occur in the real world.
I just had an online colour analysis with Giulia and I truly can't recommend this highly enough!!! It was so interesting to find out my colours and Guila was the kindest warmest person. I really felt she did such a thorough job and took so much care in showing me my colours. Best spent money, such a wonderful experience! Thank you so much:)
Thank you so much dear Rebecca, it was so lovely to meet you today and your comment truly means a lot. Take care and enjoy your beautiful Autumn palette 🧡💛🤎
Thank you, this made me realise that makeup in one’s season just looks like one’s face but enhanced, rather than seeing the makeup sitting on top of the skin.
I'm so impressed with this video, ladies. To take the time to show the comparison between make-up for your season and then the difference when you wear the incorrect was amazing. Thank you so much for all of your hard work. For us non make-up artists, this was brilliant ❤
I know a lot about make up and I know my season, but I always struggled to understand why I am picking a more yellowy concealer and foundation, and why my skin looks yellowish/more golden despite having a cool undertone. Now I understand that the way my skin appears (overtone) is something different, and it makes sense why I am not going with the pinkish foundations or concealers, because they look wrong on me. Pink may be a cool overtone, but it doesn't go with mine because my overtone is warmer. This was incredible to finally be able to understand. Thank you!
So interesting to hear about gloss vs matte in the context of intensity! I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone talk about that before but it makes so much sense
That is even true for fabrics. When venturing outside the subgroup or season, shiny / sparkly or matte can allow you to wear certain colours. An intense colour will be less overwhelming when it comes in form of a wool sweater (matte, and the surface is more unevene than a woven fabric, it absorbs more light and the colour is not quite as dominant). Summer types might pull off black - if there is a wider neckline (so the colours next to the face are hair, skin of the decolletée, maybe some jewelry, plus the colours of the make-up. They better wear some colour in the face - at least mascara and lipstick - to increase the contrasts in their face to balance out the (too) dark colour. Even better if the black fabric is light (fabric weight) and shiny or has a pattern (can be a pattern in itself like some satins, or non-black flowers on a black background). It is (mostly) black - but not as heavy as for instance a matte uniform black wool or cotton fabric.
Seeing you two switch your makeup palettes was so useful! I have struggled to identify my undertone, but I totally saw myself in Alessandra when she tried on Giulia’s cool-tone makeup. I have that same exact effect when I wear those tones in my makeup. Now I’m feeling more confident about what my undertone is! Thank you, girls! ❤
Great explanation ladies. SO many people get confused with foundation. I am a light spring, so suit warm toned colour makeup for lips, eyes and cheeks BUT have very pale porcelain skin with cool tones, so need a pink based cool foundation. So many people assume a warm palette means a yellow tone foundation, or if you need a cool toned foundation you should wear cool toned colour makeup on eyes, cheeks and lips.
I love makeup, but this is the first time I've heard that we should be matching foundation to our overtones... although that might explain why I prefer neutral foundations to cool foundations when I have a cool undertone.
Yes Yes Yes! I am also cool toned and NEVER chose cool tone foundation. It always appears too pink on me! I also need neutral undertone in foundations, or even some with ever so slightly soooft yellow undertone… that balances everything out perfectly! I figured this out myself and only these ladies tell this info so clearly
@@rusoprui Also I couldn't explain the logic behind the fact that cool foundation looks pink on me, but at the same time I burn in the sun and almost never tan. Also my skin is super white in winter, you can barely see any colour, but in summer it gets a slight peachy/golden tone, but it's not a tan, it just appears different, I'm guessing because the light is more warm during summer.
Yeah when I heard this I was floored. I was matching it to my undertone which is cool then slapping on the cool foundation making me looks like a ghoul and like I was caked in makeup. Meanwhile I also have neutral toned foundation and that seemed far better. More natural looking.
Very informative ladies! My daughter is a warm spring and needs brown mascara, and I, as a true summer, need a cool black brown. Black is too harsh for both of us. I wish more brands would offer more than black or blackest black lol!
Even before final comparisons it was clear to see the natural blend of colors into your face! Maybe it's just me, but Alessandra in cool makeup is not quite right, whereas Guilia in warm makeup is just plain wrong. I have heard before that warm undertones can wear cool colors "better" than cool undertones can wear warm colors. Obviously, the in palette looks are always best, but it's interesting.
I wonder if it has to do with makeup trends? I am not on-trend but i feel like i see a lot of people wearing purply-mauve eyeshadow, black mascara, and berry lip shades. Whereas you dont see those warm-toned makeup shades as much. And perhaps since a lot of people have red overtone or acne, rosacea etc they do not want to add warm makeup on top, regardless of undertone (i'm like that lol).
I wonder if Alessandra’s redness masks her warm undertones just enough that cool colours don’t seem to clash with her skin as much. However, it is blending with an aspect of her skin colour that she doesn’t want to emphasise, so it still doesn’t quite work for her.
To Sydney Chapin: That is absolutely correct. I made the same experiences, and in their Video it seemed to me as well, as if Alessandra could almost get away with it the cool palette, whereas Giulias Face was a mask that didn't want to stay put on her face. In Palette, both are their most beautiful, and they did a great job with the Make-Up themselves. I love this professionalism. ❤❤❤
I have been interested in color analysis for a long time and so many things were confusing. For instance, I had no idea overtone and undertone were different until I watched your videos, or that you could have autumn eyes and be a winter. You explain things so well, and it makes so much more sense now! I just love your channel, and you both have such great personalities! You're so much fun!
You have just recently done my colour analysis online and asked me to watch this video as I have always struggled with makeup colours being a person of colour. I am so impressed at the amount of knowledge you share, and also wish I could have saved myself years of struggle had I known all this earlier!! Grateful for you both !!! Keep up the amazing work !!!
Thank you so much for your kind words! We are thrilled to hear that you found the video helpful and that your colour analysis experience was positive. It means a lot to us to know that our work is making a difference. We're grateful for your support, Thank you again, and keep shining 💖
I haven’t enjoyed content on UA-cam like this since Claire Saffitz was on Bon Appetit and there was that commentary video from a guy Mike saying “How lucky are we… we get all this [content] for free.” Thank you for the helpful tips about makeup. I was thinking how it would be fun to see the opposite makeup on each other. I shouldn’t be surprised you delivered. I have been really enjoying the power that has come with being analyzed by you virtually. It is so nice to be able to make more informed choices, instead of buying something that fits well..but is the wrong color and drains life from me. If anyone is considering an analysis from them, I highly recommend it. Also, I was so happy about the makeup swap that I watched the following ads in full so it helps you that small bit.
Interesting how Giulia looks so much better in cool toned make up compared to warm toned but Alessandra could get away with cool toned make up as well in my opinion. I am an autumn type also and don’t like too wear orangy eye shadow and not even lipstick sometimes. In eyeshadows I prefer yellow golden tones or neutral shades and in lipstick warm pinky nudes or deep warm reds. Only in my blushes I like very warm toned colors. My theory is that super warm tones emphasize the yellownes in your eyeball and that cool tones make eyes and teeth look whiter. That overall looks more healthy fresh and awake.
Before I was analysed as a winter I always used lipstick in warm colours. And there is a funny thing I noticed: with the lipstick out of my palette, I always thought it looked wiggly, the edges seemed irregular, and I thought this must be because I am not good enough at applying lipstick, I don't get the shapes right. Now with colours in my palette, it became much easier. Although it's not more precise than before, it just looks good and even. That was really fascinating to me. Thank you so much for your amazing work!
A contur pencil can do wonders when applying lipstick. You can even have a decent effect of enlarging the lip. If they are the right consisteny (not too hard, soft enough that they are easily applied but not so soft they do not hold up) they will also fix your lipstick colour in place. Moreover if you have one that matches your natural lip colour or is only slightly darker - you can use that instead of lipstick. A little more definition, but you do not eat away the lipstick (if you go out dining for instance), or when the lipstick or gloss is gone there is still something there. Or you want a very natural look.
Alessandra @22:11 made me laugh so hard ❤. Those are exactly the words I say to myself as a Cool Winter trying to shop in all of these stores full of Soft Autum and Light Spring palettes.
@@SueRosalie and muted. Sometimes I will find something which is somewhat in palette but it is mixed with too much grey (like they are saving money on dye). I wonder if this is why I see so many winters in color analysis videos, ha. The companies are not stocking these deeply saturated cool tones.
Lol this was great 😂. Giulia, thank you for mentioning the the part about foundation matching your overtone. I was initially surprised when I found out that I was a cool summer because I have a light olive complexion as well, I thought that the warmth in my skin would translate to a warm season (I was expecting to be an autumn). When you think about it, the colour ‘olive green’ is just a combination of yellow + blue, so it makes sense that someone who has an olive complexion could have a cool undertone + a warm overtone , or the reverse.
I'm winter cool & I have very similar eyes, and I like burgundy/magenta/red-purple for that reason. I don't wear makeup, though. 😅 Just here for the vibes.
Ciao Giulia! I cannot tell you how validated I finally feel from hearing you say that your eyes are autumn but you are a winter 😭 I have your EXACT same eye colour and very similar hair colour and all the online tests placed me as autumn instead🤐
Wow this was helpful. As a soft autumn I immediately bought green corrector (before video even ended). What an impact that had on reducing red! Love your channel ❤️ ***I also can not do black mascara. 100% pure makes a lovely brown.
Great video! The comment you made about how typically cool toned people get blue shadows under their eyes more frequently than warm tones makes a lot of sense! I’m warm toned and I don’t suffer from dark under eyes despite my lack of sleep 😂 but unfortunately, I can’t wear a cool Smokey eye!
Congratulations on the sponsor! I can’t wait to see how your channel grows! I’ve never been one much for style but you both have opened my eyes to the reality of how color affects things, and I’m definitely more curious about learning my palette.
Wow that end was quite a thrilling twist 😅 I was in for the ride but it really took off there 😂🎉 so much fun thank you ladies for your fun and honesty. I’m a makeup artist and this was amazing its almost the reason I loved colour analysis from teendom I remember seeing a picture of a warm autumn in winter makeup and she looked like a corpse and it always stuck with me great illustration 💓
This really is becoming my favourite channel, I keep rewatching alll your videos! I could see myself so clearly in Giullia wearing warm makeup, no wonder people keep telling me I look tired lmao. As a Winter I completely relate to my undereye area looking bluish, mascara being my saviour, and looking like I put heavy makeup on in orange shades even when it's actually not much. Thanks for another fun and eye-opening video 🥰
This was a fun video! I also think the wrong makeup makes you look a bit harsh and older...not as soft and lively as your correct palette colors. Thank you, love your channel.
It makes complete sense, now I understand why as a “cool winter” I have always struggled with dark circles under my eyes! Thank you for explaining this so well. I had an online analysis recently and I really recommend this for anyone who is interested. Thank you for another brilliant fun video with so many helpful tips. ❄️❤
The same thing that happened to Giulia has happened to me all my life. I have hazel eyes and fair olive skin, so everyone always told me that warm colors suit me and by god they don't
OMGG, I LOOOVE THIS VIDEO! Helped me so much. I look a Lot like Giulia. Cool but with olive skin... Always thought I was autumn, but pretty sure now Im a winter. I also have the same eyes 😂. Thank you again ❤❤
Yes, match your overtone with your base! Imagine a pink foundation on my olive skin? Disaster! Blue might be my undertone, but a warm foundation matches my yellow overtone better for sure. 💚
I love this! You two are so charming and fun to watch, and how perfect that you are opposite in colour! Seeing the contrast between you both is really helping to train my eye to see what enhances warm colouring- as I am cool, it is much easier for me to understand this harmony on myself and others like me- especially after trying to wear the wrong colours for years. I can now better appreciate the beauty of warm pallets in others!
Hahaha, this Video made my day! You are so brave to do the wrong make up thoroughly. You could have stopped at the eyeshadow already 😅 . Very good content! You are not talkers, but makers! Very good visual for when in doubt. 🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤
It was interesting to see brown/hazel eyes in people who are opposite on the seasonal colour wheel. I too have hazel eyes with a combo of green/brown/bluegrey and summers with this colour are often incorrectly analysed as autumn by people who look at eye colour first instead of skin undertone.
I am passionate about the subject and I watched a lots lots of videos of colors analysis on UA-cam but you are guys by far the best. Keep going. Send you love and support from Belgium 🇧🇪
Amazing how much younger and vibrant you both look in your palette vs the opposite! After being matched to summer soft by Alessandra I’ve moved to predominantly cool makeup. I used to wear warm browns and golds because it’s what was popular but I never liked it as much on myself compared to others. Makes so much sense!
I am a spring warm and I love brown mascara. Black overwhelms. I have blue-green eyes and I go with peachy coral tones and copper tones on the eyes because they are opposite the blue-green on the color wheel and really make my eyes pop.
Darling ladies, a big Congrats on your first sponsorship! Always a joy to see you and learn more, I don’t wanna remember my colorstory before your help😂😁😍❤️❤️🫶🏼sending hugs!
@@colouranalysis_studio You could make something out of the Vivaia sponsorship. They have these ballerina style shoes not only with he pointy toes but also with a WIDE toe box (so the shoe is fairly wide, almost like the square shoe style that is unfortunately not in fashion at the moment. The square form is super comfortable for warm winter boots, they allow enough room for socks and to move the toes, it wore down my pair, it is falling apart now. It is hard to find a nice looking shoe that is also comfy. With age (menopause) feet change, folks get bunions and what not - so the wide toe box on a pretty shoe is a god send. These wide toebox styles are also available in several colours: some bright, some neutral. And they even have patterns. The leopard print caught my imagination. I am on the fence. Blue jeans, white top - lip stick colour and the shoe as eye catcher for an effortless everyday outfit. The shoes have good reviews. Not sure how they uphold on a rainy day. you could maybe get samples and test wear them ? Is there a rainy season in Melbourne ?
I like Alessandra in the dark teal (she could go lighter on the green correction foundation) it would likely counteract the redness. (Again either she naturally has that rosy tone then it is part of her natural colouring OR her skin may react to something - even cosmetics that she thinks are good for her skin.)
I have a difficult time because I can pull off clothing in autumn colors if they are in the DARK red or green family but I believe I am a True Summer. I have neutral light skin and perhaps my undertone is olive? That's why I can do greens and reds in any pallette but ultimately land on True Summer? My eyes are Grey with sage green around my iris. Orange shadows look great against my eyes but not so great on my skin. Warmer violets look amazing on my eyes and skin. So it's like I have to pick and choose when and where to wear autumn tones and when and where to use True Summer tones 😅
olive is an overtone and people know if they have it, it's obvious - does your skin have a green cast especially next to other people? Is your natural hair colour quite dark? You should probably get an analysis, you may well be one of the winters
My favorite way to explain that overtone and undertone can be different is to encourage people to think about the colors of the rainbow. When we're young, we're taught that red, orange, and yellow are warm colors while green, blue, and purple are cool colors. Think of this as your overtone/skin tone. However, as we all know from watching these fabulous analysts work, there are cool (blue) toned reds AND warm (yellow) toned reds. There are cool (blue) toned greens AND warm (yellow) toned greens. That is your undertone. If your skin was blue (lol) but you were told you have a warm undertone, you'd still want to buy a blue foundation, not yellow! Because foundation is for your overtone--the color itself.
That was really fun! Now I know what my eye is interpreting when I’ve seen people look strange with certain eye makeup. I’ve seen cool colours on a warm person!
Thank you for being so authentic! I have such a unique, loveable essence and I enjoy watching your videos so much! 💕 Have a great day and keep on doing you!
You did it again! So informative and enjoyable because you guys are genuine and talented and good friends. I love when you finish sentences together! So funny. During the swap when Ale said to Giulia “That’s no you! There’s something wrong” 22:10 I felt that in my soul. That should be a GIF to send to your friend when they’re acting a fool. Or a tik Tok sound! Someone work on that please!
This was so cute to watch! And wow did the swap show it all!! Very enlightening. If only you were not all the way in AU, bc you are my favorite colour analysts on youtube. Great video! And thank you for taking our comments and requests into consideration when making your videos!
Buongiorno! I really really REALLY love your guys' channel! I want to add that I learned something wild that helped me a lot and sort of gels with what you briefly said about neutral and olive types, and that is it's possible to be either a COOL olive or WARM olive. I've always wondered why everything that has supposedly been made for olive skin types never really worked on my skin, and that's because I figured out I'm actually olive with a cool undertone whereas what people generally think of as olive is actually WARM olive. It's helped me figure out my palette and more importantly what my overtone actually is, since for so long I was bouncing around my cool palette and warm palette that skewed olive, making me for so long unable to decide if I was wintery or autumnal and always changing my mind. Now I GOT it! hope to see much more, and I would really like to know more about how to actually get into color analysis and how it can apply to different careers. I'm hoping I can learn it myself someday. Ciao ragazze!!!
0live always has cool undertones. It's the overtone that can be warm which is why foundation has to be matched to overtone, but all other makeup matched to undertone.
As a cool-undertoned person I find that warm foundation actually makes me look green. I try to find foundations that have a pinkish side to them. I find they work better on me, even though my overtone (my skincolor) is quite yellowish.
i notice the lower intensity seasons benefit from more dynamic makeup ; so multiple shades on the lid of varying depth, such as a medium rust shade across the lid, a shimmer in the center and a dark shade in the crease, or a very diffused and smoked out smokey eye that feathers out into multiple shades... same with cheeks and lips, autumns can get away with lots of bronzer without looking too much. and a dark lip liner that blends into a nice red lipstick. dynamism and diffusion. whereas springs and winters can slap on solid colors and the high contrast is actually to their benefit. just my observations. u did fantastic ❤
You two ladies are so sweet and beautiful. I love how authentic and friendly you are. And I love listening to your Italian accents! 😊 This is great teaching- you make it very easy to understand.
Wow guys!! I really didn't expect this video concept!! Such a great example. You definitely need to do this again and emphasize the tittle something like "the power of seasonal makeup" love it though!!!
Great video! I really loved what you said about foundation needing to match our skin's overtone! I have trouble finding the right color foundation sometimes because I think I am a cool olive undertone, but cool or olive foundations don't match at all. This was soooo helpful!
Such a fun video! I can highly recommend Colour Analysis Studio, having recently been analysed online. I'm a Summer Cool and found these makeup tips very helpful. I've started moving away from wearing black and get at least one compliment almost every day now. I've also sorted through my makeup and look forward to updating my look soon. Thank you ladies!
Thought I was a dark autumn but actually I am a deep winter. Was paying attention at Julia's complexion and my eye, hair and skin colors are actually really really close to hers. It makes sense why deep wine red lipstick and burgundy eyeshadow look the most flattering on me
I recently switched using warm brown eyeliner to cool gray since learning more about color theory from your channel. I used to use the warm brown because my eyes are blue-green and everyone says contrast makes them look better, but the grey eyeliner is so much more in harmony with my undertone and I think I look more awake and the whites of my eyes look brighter even if I feel tired.

@@Daymickey I think it's because a cool undertone has blue/purple in it, and yellow/orange is opposite on the color wheel.
Indeed. Alessandra looked much more appropriate in cool colors, although she really did not look her best, than Julia with warmer colors.
The best example of why you need to wear your correct colors that I have seen.
That’s so true!!!!
We totally agree! Thanks for commenting ❤
Thank you so much! Me and Giulia are like sisters 💕👯♀️
I don't think Avon reps had good colour training, if any, at all!
@Victoria 😂😁
Thank you!!😊🧡
I'm retired color consultant. I enjoy your videos and would recommend you to my friends. I'm 60 I already got wrinkles lol
Dear Ann, this comment is much appreciated. It's great to have support from colleagues 💖 Thanks a lot 🌈
I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone talk about that before but it makes so much sense
yes that was new to me too
Did she say gloss is intense compared to matte?
You both look so beautiful with no makeup in the beginning (haven’t seen the end yet)
This was great, thanks! The makeup swap was so funny!! It was so obvious that the wrong colors dulled your true beauty!! 💕 Congrats on the sponsor!
I love makeup, but this is the first time I've heard that we should be matching foundation to our overtones... although that might explain why I prefer neutral foundations to cool foundations when I have a cool undertone.
That's a game changer for me too.
OMG same. And I've seen countless makeup artists on youtube saying you should match the undertone.
The best way to verify one's color pallet. I look GREAT in orange or pumpkin color lipstick, I don't "like" it, but it loves me! 🤣
Pleasr also have a video on the makeup for soft summer and soft autumn because we are on the muted to neutral side of the palette.
Oh I love solar/sun and lunar/moon! Perfect words for describing warm and cool.
Very informative ladies! My daughter is a warm spring and needs brown mascara, and I, as a true summer, need a cool black brown. Black is too harsh for both of us. I wish more brands would offer more than black or blackest black lol!
Totally agree! I've always known black washes me out but choices of eyeliner and mascara is really limited if you don't want to go black
I prefer brown mascara and eyeliner too. It's very difficult to find though.
@sydney chapin I have heard that same thing and agree about how the ladies both looked.
I wonder if Alessandra’s redness masks her warm undertones just enough that cool colours don’t seem to clash with her skin as much. However, it is blending with an aspect of her skin colour that she doesn’t want to emphasise, so it still doesn’t quite work for her.
@Victoria I can relate to this. Bronzer makes me look dirty, as though I have dust on my face. Not the look I was hoping for.
Now i am confused. both make up looks suit me. Usually i opt for the warm tones during summer and the cool during winter.
I haven’t enjoyed content on UA-cam like this since Claire Saffitz was on Bon Appetit and there was that commentary video from a guy Mike saying “How lucky are we… we get all this [content] for free.”
Thank you for the helpful tips about makeup.
Thank you so much for this beautiful comment! 🥹🥹🥹🥹 your words mean the world to us! Thanks for recommending our services to others ♥️
I can't stop laughing, Giulia looks like a vampire with the orange eyes. 😂 What a great and helpful video, thank you so much, ragazze. 💜
Ahahah 🤣
Same here! Crying...🤣🤣🤣
To be fair Giulia put on more of the orange than Alessandra. But the colouring would indeed be a good fit for halloween or carneval.
You are both excellent instructors, and you have great chemistry with each other! So enjoyable!
Alessandra @22:11 made me laugh so hard ❤. Those are exactly the words I say to myself as a Cool Winter trying to shop in all of these stores full of Soft Autum and Light Spring palettes.
Australian fashion stores are full of orange, warm beige, rust, olive, mustard, dirty brown right now and nothing for the cool seasons
Exactly right! Thank you so much Anne 🥰
I know the struggle dear Elizabeth 😂 Thank you for watching and commenting! Ciao from Giulia xxx
The swap was so funny and really made the point.
Wow this was helpful. As a soft autumn I immediately bought green corrector (before video even ended). What an impact that had on reducing red! Love your channel ❤️
***I also can not do black mascara.
That’s so trueeeeee!!!! Especially me (Ale) look so old ahah and Giulia more clowinsh ahah
Another idea for a future video is to talk about eye patterns and how it affects your color season since you mentioned you both have autumn eyes.
It makes complete sense, now I understand why as a “cool winter” I have always struggled with dark circles under my eyes! Thank you for explaining this so well.
I had an online analysis recently and I really recommend this for anyone who is interested. Thank you for another brilliant fun video with so many helpful tips. ❄️❤
Thank you so much Cecilia, I hope you're enjoying using your Winter Cool palette 💙 Greetings from Giulia!
The same thing that happened to Giulia has happened to me all my life. I have hazel eyes and fair olive skin, so everyone always told me that warm colors suit me and by god they don't
Same! I’m a deep winter so some of the dark slightly warm colors aren’t terrible but in general they are off.
Thank you so much 😍😍😍♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
It was interesting to see brown/hazel eyes in people who are opposite on the seasonal colour wheel. I too have hazel eyes with a combo of green/brown/bluegrey and summers with this colour are often incorrectly analysed as autumn by people who look at eye colour first instead of skin undertone.
Love the solar/ lunar way of describing warm/ cool!
Wow! The difference when you swap is staggering. Thanks for this ❤
Would love to see a makeup video for Summer + Spring palettes too! ☀️
Oh my gosh that makeup swap at the end to the wrong palette was actually quite jarring! Wow. Thanks for doing that!
I am passionate about the subject and I watched a lots lots of videos of colors analysis on UA-cam but you are guys by far the best. Keep going. Send you love and support from Belgium 🇧🇪
I'm so GLAD I discovered your channel! You two are so fun and beautiful (inside and out🌸)!
I've learned so much from watching 😁❤️ Thank you!
I would love makeup artists to come and work with you on camera! Don’t tell them your season ahead of time, and see what they do! :-)
Cheeky ahahah 😂what a good idea!
Creative and informative. Your point is so well emphasized. Thank you for such an enjoyable video. Looking forward to the next one.
Thanks for commenting ♥️ so happy to hear that you are enjoying your colours 😍😍😍
I am a spring warm and I love brown mascara. Black overwhelms. I have blue-green eyes and I go with peachy coral tones and copper tones on the eyes because they are opposite the blue-green on the color wheel and really make my eyes pop.
Ale, Giulia - That should be your video sign off from now on! “We’ll see you very soon… in palette.” 😊
Darling ladies, a big Congrats on your first sponsorship! Always a joy to see you and learn more, I don’t wanna remember my colorstory before your help😂😁😍❤️❤️🫶🏼sending hugs!
Sending you lots of love Tania 💕thanks for commenting 🥹😍♥️
The difference is huge!! It’s funny how both “matching” looks essentially look like you’re not really wearing makeup, even with the red lipstick!
The comparisons toward the end are so great. Fun video.
Congrats on your first sponsorship!! I’m so happy for you guys! You really are doing a great job with this channel :)
I love the subtle italian accents! So calmimg to listen to! Like ASMR
I love seeing your process and always appreciate how you punctuate it by showing the "wrong" colors for comparison!
What a fabulous demonstration...of the right vs wrong makeup!! Thank you
Wow that comparison! 🤯 Thank you for such a fun video ladies, it was very enjoyable.
This was a great video. It really showed how the right makeup colours enhance your natural features. I learned so much! Thank you.
Your presentation is a great illustration of beauty and contrast. Loved it!
Adoro il fatto che non annulliate totalmente il vistro accento ❤ siete bravissime!!! Adoro le vostre analisi!
I literally have your skin colouring- cool winter, warm overtone with greeny brown eyes, so this was SUPER helpful ❤
i notice the lower intensity seasons benefit from more dynamic makeup ; so multiple shades on the lid of varying depth, such as a medium rust shade across the lid, a shimmer in the center and a dark shade in the crease, or a very diffused and smoked out smokey eye that feathers out into multiple shades... same with cheeks and lips, autumns can get away with lots of bronzer without looking too much. and a dark lip liner that blends into a nice red lipstick. dynamism and diffusion. whereas springs and winters can slap on solid colors and the high contrast is actually to their benefit. just my observations. u did fantastic ❤
This was a lot of fun and it's interesting how the wrong colours make you look tired and either grey or yellow
Thank you so much for this beautiful comment 💖
Thought I was a dark autumn but actually I am a deep winter. Was paying attention at Julia's complexion and my eye, hair and skin colors are actually really really close to hers. It makes sense why deep wine red lipstick and burgundy eyeshadow look the most flattering on me
i hope you girls can make some more videos on flattering hair colors and clothing for seasons
You gave answered something that I have been wondering about for so long!!! Wow what an incredibly helpful video! Thanks guys❤
The best color analysis channel does it again!! Great job to you both, this was so helpful!
