There are different cool things in booth versions. Here Big Boss just takes 4 hits instead of 10. 12 Rations and 250 rounds for hand gun can be quite OP in NES-version.
Most likely resets items due to a glitch, meaning you can pick up certain things over and over, or puts Snake in a permanent invincibility. Just assuming.
hehe, I actually reported that bug at www.msx.org/forum/msx-talk/software-and-gaming/bug-metal-gear-final-stairs?page=0, at that time it seemed a rather unknown bug. Great game even to this day.
Why isn't there boss music when you're fighting the Arnolds? Why aren't you hurt by electric floors? Why can you use the ladder on the right to escape?
TAS uses emulators, frame by frame, save states and luck manipulation via memory access to have the best result possible. It take a year or more to achieve a TAS since you play frame by frame and reload saves if you don't get the result you want. A Speedrun is someone who plays with a controller, learn the game by himself and play as fast as possible. Both TAS ans Speedrun uses glitches and bugs to achieves the fastest times. However the ultimate rule is that the game MUST not be modified or hacked in anyway. It must be the original or you risk of having your run judged invalid.
The final ladder climb, wtf? :D
He learnt assassin‘s technique

13:42 damn, Konami was ahead of their time with music patterns sounding like a breakbeat or something
Personally, the Phantom Pain somewhat set up an event for this.
Good job! Now let's wait for the TAS of the sequel (Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake)
What’s the point of saving multiple times in a row on certain screens.

Whats the difference between a tas and a speedrun.
