    Sway bar links:
    amzn.to/2ZvDrtv (good) - or - amzn.to/2TCIMeH (BEST, you will need to order two)
    A link to my FAVORITE, MOST USED TOOL!! The Milwaukee electric ratchet, I love this thing!
    amzn.to/3ed2LbR
    Today in Javo's Garage we're changing the sway (or stabilizer) bar links on a 2009 Chrysler Town & Country. Step by step instructions along with torque specs, part numbers and tools used to complete the job. If you are experiencing a clunk, rattle, knock or banging sound when traveling over bumps in the road this could very well be your problem. Another cause could be your stabilizer bar bushings and possibly the struts. Perform an inspection to verify your problem.
    Thanks for stopping by my garage, I hope this tutorial helps you. Please feel free to ask any questions.

    Thanks! Great video!! Here's a tip if you're using an impact wrench: If the nut is too rusty to come off easily, hit it with penetrating spray and re-tighten the nut. Then spray it again and loosen the nut. Repeat this several times and it's off and in the trash can. The new ones went on very easily.

    You sir, are a gentleman and a scholar. Great, informative video and the format with relevant notes on the side of the vid is perfect. Prob the best format of any wrenching video I've seen on YT. Thanks for making this project so much easier.

      Well thank you for the compliments! I've been called many things in my day but never a scholar. LOL! I'm super glad you enjoyed the video and was able to get some valuable info. Thank you very much for stopping by and taking a moment to leave me a comment. I apologize for my late response, I've been away from YT for a little bit.

    You my friend are a beast!! I like how you manage to keep your cool in a such uncomfortable and tight space. Overall I love these type of minivans. I really admire your work. Keep these series alive! And those videos coming!! Much appreciated!

      @Jesus Brito - Well thank you very much for the compliments! It always makes my day to get comments like this. I am looking for my next van right now, but I just haven't been able to find a good one that I would be willing to sell when I'm done. Hopefully in the next few weeks I'll find one. I plan to finish my series of videos on these vans when I do; there should be around 40 videos total when I'm done. Thank you for stopping by and taking a moment to leave me some feedback - much appreciated!

    The easiest way I’ve found to take those off is to use a cutoff tool. I cut the stud off and done! Still like your repair videos. 👍

      That's a great idea. Unfortunately, at the time of this video I didn't have an air compressor big enough to keep up with my cut off tool so until I started heating the links I would use a sawzall if need be to cut them. It worked but it took quite a few blades and time to get the job done. A cutoff tool or a torch are ideal tools for this scenario. Thank you for stopping by and taking a moment to leave some valuable information - much appreciated!

    I'm liking your series on the T&C! Do the links come greased, already, or do you need to grease them after installing the zerks?

    • @javosgarage
      @javosgarage  3 роки тому

      @David Fox - Hi David, glad to hear you're enjoying the videos. The links "should" come greased but double check I've had a few over the years that needed to be filled. Like any mass produced item, some make it out of the factory with problems. Hope that helps you. Thanks for stopping by!

      @Oscar Thompson - Funny you should ask!! My next project is a 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT. I will be coming out with a whole new series of repair videos in the next few weeks and I was planning on having "Engine bay cleaning" be the first video. Stay tuned! Once I get through Christmas, work will begin and I will begin posting those videos. Thank you for the request!
