I tried this out for a pampered chef party, we did a German theme because the host was stationed in Germany. Let me just say.... oh my lands. I use this and your cinnamon roll recipe to make for friends and neighbors all the time now. ❤️👌🏽👌🏽
I am going to try your recipe. I tried Preppy Cooks recipe and it was an epic fail. The only constructive criticism I have is your camera man was focused more on YOU rather than the boiling water and things on the stove top. If that is all that is wrong that is not a bad thing right?
I wake up every morning in a bed that's too small, drive my daughter to a school that's too expensive, and then I go to work to a job for which I get paid too little. But on pretzel day? Well, I like pretzel day.
So easy with clear directions - pretzels are delicious. I reference this site on a weekly basis. Im a non baker - tried making soft pretzel using another site and just the recipe (no video) - they weren't horrible but couldn't really roll out the dough and ended up making pretzel nuggets. Next time around found this site and the gates opened up. She clearly explains the steps and makes you understand why its important to use the right yeast, dough consistency and reason of dough rising - you dont get this with just a recipe. Thank you and with COVID we make pretzels on a weekly basis and family loves it!
These were amazing! I live just across the lake in Saratoga so I followed your recipe to a T and they were perfection. I knew as soon as my kids posted snaps to their social media that I would have a bunch of teenagers "randomly" show up, so I made three batches. I am so glad I did. I made parmesan, cinnamon sugar, and salt with cheese ones and all were devoured as soon as they were done. Thank you so much for this recipe! The teenagers and their friends are already asking me to make these again this weekend!
Oh. My. Goodness!! My daughter is pregnant and soft pretzels are one of her cravings! Her baby shower is tomorrow and we’re having pretzel bites. Wish I would have found you about a week sooner!! Can’t wait to try these with her! You are awesome and an inspiration! I’ve been watching your videos all evening!! Thank you for them!!
I made these tonight and they were so easy and delicious! I didn't have enough baking soda, so I used baking powder in the water bath and it worked no problems! Came out crispy and golden on top and were so soft and fluffy inside!! So good! Definitely making again this weekend!! Thank you!
Now that's a pretzel! Great tutorial. Especially appreciative of how you explain and show when the dough is right consistency in the stand mixer. Thank you!
Omigosh, these came out so delicious! I agree they are better than the mall variety! Your step-by-step video made it so easy to make! My family and friends will love these! Thank you, Amy!!!
I've been watching your videos and following your Instagram for a while but this was the first time I made one of your recipes... And it went amazingly!! Thank you so much Amy for sharing this and giving step by step instructions as they've turned out perfectly (at least as perfect as I can get for my first try!) I can't wait to try more recipes out in future!!
Awesome recipe! I’ve been making batches and delivering to friends during the lockdown. Fun to make with my daughter too? Thanks so much! Look forward to trying other recipes from you!
I made these as a surprise for my fience and he absolutely loved them! Thank you so much for making such an easy recipe ❤️ I've never made anything like this before, I didn't even know how to knead bread 😅 but I did it! Thank you🖤
I just finished making them. They taste amazing!! I think next time I will try and make them smaller as I had trouble lifting them from the pan. As always thank you for your incredible recipes :)
Made these today! My first go so I learned some things but it was pretty tasty. Mine did great at nine minutes. I also made sure to not just press the pretzel ends into the pretzel after the “twist and press” step but to go around the pretzel with the end so it didn’t come apart in the baking soda bath.
Hi Amy! I didn’t have reg AP flour but I had bread flour and they turned out perfect!!! I was so excited to make something like this. Never thought about it till I saw your video. Your such a great instructor. Thank you for all your videos!!! Our favorite was the cinnamon sugar! 💖💖💖
One more thing I’ve done with this awesome recipe… pretzel buns!!! Don’t buy them at the store, make them!!! This is the most amazing recipe ever!!! Thanks so much for it!!!
I just made these and OMG they were delicious and a HUGE hit! I made a dozen (weighed them like you did to be sure they were about the same) and baked for a little over 8 minutes since they were smaller than yours. I’ve gotten so many compliments and they’re disappearing as I type! Awesome recipe - thanks so much for developing and posting it! 😁
Great tutorial, thank you so much! If I wanted to make these in big batches and freeze them should I freeze them before baking them or after baking them?
Oh… My…. Goodness!!! These were incredible!! We made some beer cheese to go with them (yea, that wasn’t so good), but the pretzels were good enough without the cheese!!😂🤣. We did 4 with salt and 4 with cinnamon and sugar. Couldn’t even begin to tell you which one I liked the best!! Love watching your videos, please keep ‘em coming!! Thanks so much for all of them!!!
As for the flour question. I believe Amy is using all purpose flour. The yeast question should be answered for you toward the beginning of the tutorial when she talk about yeast. Hope that helps... I cant help with conversions but there is a couple websites to help I have seen. Do you know of them?
@@nastaransabet fresh yeast is usually double what you'd use for dry yeast. It has been more than 20 years since I last used fresh yeast so my memory on conversions is pretty rusty, but I'm sure you could Google it too.
Great recipe and tutorial! I make a LOT of pretzels at home, but I use a very different recipe and method, without milk, and using a sourdough starter. There's more than one way to skin a cat of course! For consistency, no matter what your recipe, if you use weights for your ingredients instead of volume, you will see much more controllable results. Also when dividing it up, weigh the whole dough mass, and then mathematically divide by your desired qty. That way you will never end up with an odd tiny pretzel. But of course if you do, you can save that one (unseasoned) for the dog.
I don’t know why it took me so long to make these but HOT DAMN they are good. Like I had to put them away so I’d stop eating them good. Toddler and hubby approved as well! Thank you!!! 🙌🏼😍😋❤️

@@NeuroticMomBakes how do you store the pretzels after they're done? I waited until they were completely cooled and put them on a cake stand but it seems they got kind of weird on the outside from moisture or something
My first time making pretzels! It worked out pretty good and they tasted great! Texture was very good too. Only problem I had was they stuck to the pan and were a challenge to remove without tearing the bottom of the dough; both with and without parchment. Since different ovens vary in temperature, I think I would try a shorter bake time by a couple of minutes or try a lower temperature? Maybe turn the temperature down the last 5 minutes. Any recommendations?? I baked mine at 460 for 10 minutes but that seemed too long or too hot. I would love to try it again and make mine into 16 smaller pretzels....It's a good recipe.

I never did, no
Hey!! Can I use the same recipe to make chocolate dipped pretzel sticks ?
I’m sure you could!
Do you have to turn the pretzels over midway during baking or do they automatically Brown on both sides?
How long do you bake them for?
You could probably salt them after boiling but before baking when they are still wet, not sure it would work for the sugar though.
That’s a lot of soda!!Just have to hold on to the baking soda and then I’ll try out, looking forward to. Thank you for sharing x
If you halve the recipe or make mini pretzels you could probably get away with less soda and boiling water
Can you use bread flour instead of AP? Or will it negatively alter the final result?
I have never tried so I am not sure
Do you know if it works with wild yeast?? Maybe instead of a cup of water and the active yeast I can just use 1 cup of wild yeast???
