PZL-Mielec M18 Dromader cold start and fungicide spraying near Tótkomlós, Hungary

- This PZL-Mielec M18 Dromader came to Hungary in 1996. She flew in Slovakia and Czech Republic as an agricultural plane before. In Hungary she stations in Mezőhegyes with HA-MTY.
The company has an M18 for spraying flights and another one for fertilizer spreading, this one is HA-MVB.
The PZL-Mielec M18 Dromader is a single engine agricultural aircraft that is manufactured by PZL-Mielec in Poland. The aircraft is used mainly as a cropduster or firefighting machine.
Hungarian Air Service bought a lot of M18 Dromader around 1980. They used them for agricultural flights but after 1989 M18s began to disappear. For now there are only two operating in Hungary.
The day when I recorded the video the Dromader had only one take off close to the village of Tótkomlós.
We were very lucky, because a heavy thunderstorm just arrived when the plane finished the work, luckly they could land safety.

Manapság Mezőhegyesen állomásozik HA-MTY Dromaderrel egyetemben. A tulajdonosok vegyszerezésre használják az egyik gépüket, műtrágyaszórásra pedig a másikat.
A PZL-Mielec M18 Dromader egy egyhajtúműves mezőgazdasági repülőgép, melyet a PZL-Mielec gyárban gyártottak Lengyelországban. Főként mezőgazdasági és tűzoltó célokra alkalmazzák. Magyarországra jó pár példány került belőle a MÉM
Repülőgépes szolgálathoz az 1980-as években. Sajnos a rendszerváltás után számuk egyre fogyott, oly mértékben, hogy már csak három repülőképes példány található belőlük az országban.
Látogatásunkkor a gép napraforgó gombaölő szert szórt Tótkomlós mellett. Aznapra csak ez az egy felszállása volt. Az időzítés szerencsés volt, mert az utolsó húzás befejeztével megérkezett a közelgő vihar kifutószele… - Авто та транспорт
I come here and watch this video all the time so I can remember the sound it makes. My daddy flew one of these in Cheneyville, Louisiana. Best part of my childhood was being a part of the crop duster community. Last plane he had was a 1976 converted Thrush Commander into a turbine. Badass plane to say the least. Daddy threaded it like a needle. Straight up straight down.
Made in POLAND 🇵🇱 (since 1978 and still available! in PZL Mielec)
The wheel chocks look like old original WW2 Luftwaffe examples that were kept.
I love these things. I can’t wait to go visit my family again and see these things.
Takich maszyn już się nie buduje a szkoda.Przez te wszystkie lata gdy latały,i setki tysięcy wylatanych godzin w powietrzu,słyszałem tylko o jednym wypadku gdzie zginął pilot i to tylko dlatego że go poniosła brawura....

WHAT does the camel on the side mean ????
i knew they were dromader and polish started making them in 1976 i have read a lot about them but never have i found what the camel meant thanks for the help on that now i get why the camel is on the side ;an Arabian one-humped camel, especially one of a light and swift breed trained for riding or racing. we have a lot of these planes where i live an they just scraped a bunch of them seen them waiting for the shredder

The drawing of "running camel" is there as a symbol of strength and docility - distinctive attributes of the both animals and planes. As the plane was created and made in POLAND 🇵🇱 (PZL Mielec) the name DROMADER is just Polish word for that genus of camel with one hump on its back (quite similar to the plane, isn't it? : )
