For sure your decade of experience shines through in this kitchen utensils experiment. The beauty of abstract art is that nothing is really by coincidence, the colour choice, composition...all came from your experience and practice as an artist
I see an abstract take on an old school Japanese village with trees in the foreground. The red circle from the paper plate gives off a red sun vibe and tenhun's classic waves in the back are reminiscent of Japanese-style art too. Like holy crap dude love that you just kept going and made that happen. It would be amazing as a white shirt print or art print 100%
I see the village too. I would buy this if it was a print.
I actually think "Abstract Satisfaction" has neat features. The teal in the foreground look like winding trees to me, and that weird orange plate marking helps center the piece for me. "Cursed Garfield" reminds me of the Caterpillar from "Alice in Wonderland".
I actually like that saying, "The journey is more fun, than the destination". That's a positive quote to go by, and I'm going to follow it myself. Thanks!
The abstract art makes the word Tokyo come to mind. Not at all sure why, but I think both a wicked awesome ☺️
I also had a similar thought.. maybe because that orange circle looks like a sun. And Japan flag has it.. so reminiscent of it..
oh I totally got some Japanese vibes too, maybe because the orange reminded me of those sakura stamps? and the sun.... or something. I really liked it! with the teal and the black, I really liked it
I was worried about your Abstract Satisfaction when you covered most of it up with white paint but I actually really like how it turned out! You missed a great opportunity with the kitty-litter type spoon, it would have been a fantastic tool for fluid art. Set it flat on the canvas, pour different colors of thinned-out paint directly onto it, and slowly lift while shifting around the canvas slightly. The paint would flow through the holes onto the canvas and the movement would pull the colors around. I say keep that in your studio for if you ever get the urge to try fluid acrylic art! Cursed Garfield turned out pretty well too, his little chef's hat was the perfect finishing touch.
11:31 "Tho it may look like garbage, it is actually quite valuable" Can be said a lot in the art world. But also like you said it's with kitchen tools so it's unique.
Painting with actual garbage might be a fun challenge too.

It's crazy to see how much you cut out from the pre-edit cut yesterday and are able to still convey the same story! I can only imagine how many hours are behind the scenes of concept/idea creation for the video to all the prep and camera setup. Not to mention travel and real-time painting creation. the key to abstract painting is to think in terms of color theory, shapes, composition, etc, but without the constraint of making it look like something! The contrast of textures in abstract satisfaction makes it really work! I do enjoy cursed garfield's face though, and that background is absolutely gorgeous.

The abstract painting is actually amazing, it looks like its got some Japanese references, a big red moon and the blue lines underneath it look like a bridge which is being reflected into the water and the curved lines above the red moon look like rolling hills…it looks freaking awesome!

I genuinely love your abstract piece. I think you understand more than you think about the "rules" of making an abstract look good - I really liked what you produced at several points, and everytime you were like "oh snap, I messed it up", you HAD lol. They key things about colour, composition, and complexity, you've down.
I've had an art block myself recently, and doing process oriented art (what this totally is, as opposed to product-oriented) is a great way to break through those, and you've totally inspired me!
I actually really like the abstract one! It's not anywhere near the level of Tenhun's usual style, but this was a fun little interlude.

I really love the cat one because it still has your style and character, but all the drips etc made it look pretty dope, especially the stripes. The whiskers were saved last minute and are actually one of my favorite parts of it. If you had sold those on your site, people would have scooped them up so fast none the wiser.
