Ridge Forrester is one of those roles where casting the _right_ actor is more important than casting the _best_ actor. It's not a role that demands a thespian first. Lane Davies and Thorsten Kaye are technically better actors than Ron Moss but they are all wrong for this role. Davies' whole thing is ironic detachment and Kaye has too much intensity. Ridge is supposed to exude a mix of carelessness and romanticism, he's an insouciant prince. And Ron Moss became iconic in the role because of his charisma and screen presence. (Also I'm sorry but the actor needs to be a very beautiful man as well otherwise we can't buy that women like Caroline, Brooke and Taylor would be fighting over him).

No mention of Kristen? Have I missed something again? Isn’t she staying at the house too? Why wouldn’t she be at the party (or the dinner the night before too)?
Yet Thorne hasn't done what he should have done all along, which is demand that his family give his wife a public apology or a proper apology for that matter. Furthermore like Ridge, Thorne is no prize. He allows his family to influence his thinking and attitude towards his wife especially when she really needs his support and protection. Don't get me wrong I did not like Macy's involvement with Jake or how she allowed him to become the fourth wheel in their relationship (the forresters and Sally are the third) but in my opinion 70% of the downfall of that marriage is on Thorne's shoulders. He can't easily cast blame on Macy anytime something goes wrong between Sally and the Forresters with little to no effort of change or remorse from him or his family and expect to be welcomed with open arms when he hits his head and his senses temporarily returns.
@@PWB81 Thorne's not responsible for what his family does. He has apologized to Macy, she didn't marry the family she married him. And he's been reaching out to her and she just rejecting him...

Although I would like to agree with you, honestly in-laws can have negative or positive influences on a marriage, if it is allowed by the married couple of course. In this instance there were many instances where Thorne allowed his family's views of Spectra and Macy to influence his thinking. Secondly, as much as I want to agree with you that you don't marry the family only the man, legally this is true but to some extent your marriage is joining not only two people but also two families, so in my opinion that statement is not entirely true even though I strongly believe that what you are saying is how it should be. Honestly I think in addition to Thorne's apology a sincere apology by her in-laws initiated by Thorne would have sent a message that he stands by her. I remember Macy mentioned that his family hasn't even apologized to her after all this time . At the end of the day actions speak much louder than words and this would have driven the message home that he supports his wife and demands she is treated with respect by his family.
@@jennygustave2074 but it's not just about apologizing. He could have stood by Macy when she was accused of the crime and he didn't. When Jake was accused, all it took for Eric to drop the charges against him was for Margo to tell him "he's my brother, I believe in his innocence, please drop the case for my sake". And then it was all over. What if Thorne had done what Margo did when Macy was first accused? What if HE had gone to Eric and said, "this is my wife, I believe in her innocence, please drop the case for my sake"? If Thorne had taken Macy's side in all this, his family would NOT have let the whole thing go as far as it did. They even said as much - saying it was a good time to get the police involved BECAUSE Thorne and Macy were estranged. But not even once did Thorne tell his family to stop their witch hunt against Macy. Not even after he became convinced she was innocent. He just went to her saying "I believe you, let's get back together because I am feeling lonely" but never lifted a finger to stop her suffering.
