Ugh, gross!! It's like kissing snake poison. I bet Erica... Mary or whatever could just spit or throw up at Sheila's face right now if she wanted to. The same way Bridget did herself when she found out about Deacon and Brooke.
Yes, Brooke has a guardian angel. And his name is Brad Bell. This is the second time in a little over two years that another character dies so that Brooke can live.
No. Hunter Tylo was moving on to Melrose Place and quit B&B. This whole storyline was set in motion to get her character off the show. The problem was, when she went to Melrose Place, she was pregnant, and they didn't want their character pregnant and wouldn't shoot around the pregnancy. Tylo won, but Aaron Spelling still wouldn't bring her onto MP.
Bradley gets rid of all the pretty girls (Taylor, Kristen, Erica) and keeps Amber and Bridget in hopes that his s h e ma le side piece can “shine like the sun “ - as he has been known to say.
*The Kiss* This interaction between Sheila and Mary stands out as one of the most darkly dis t u r bing scenes in the history of the show. Sheila kissing Mary is not an act of love, but rather a kind of c u rse. It is as if through that kiss, Sheila "passes the torch" to her daughter by planting a part of herself in Mary (or reminding her of the part that was always there). As a reaction, Mary desperately tries to get away from Sheila, while Sheila's last words to her act as a reminder that Mary can't escape the reality of who she is. But the show also hints at the possibility that maybe Mary _will_ manage to escape Sheila's infIuence and create a new life for herself - Sheila laughs as Mary leaves, but once she is out of sight, Sheila is no longer triumphant but be at s her head against the wall in a display of utter despair, showing us that she knows that she has lost her daughter and that she is now completely alone and beyond redemption. It is also significant that Sheila's daughter stops calling herself Erica (a name representing Sheila's ob ses sion with Eric) and instead wants to be called by her real name, Mart (a name connecting her to her father, because it's the name of James' mother). This way, Mary chooses to be her _father's_ daughter from now on, which also means that there is hope for her.
It’s just a shame, they didn’t bring James for just one reunion scene, or at the very least, do a scene where Stephanie or someone else talks to Erica about her getting in touch with James so we’d know it happened
Indeed the scene has a lot of interesting subtext as you outlined. I'd also add the part when Sheila says she went to Eric to plead Erica's case (which we know is literally true) but then Erica reads between the lines and accuses Sheila of going there because of her obsession with Eric (which is _also_ true and which a lot of Sheila's plot with Erica has been based on). And yes that kiss _was_ disturbing. That ending though seems to be foreshadowing something that never pays off. Sheila telling Erica that she's part of her and to "carry on" and Erica's uncertain reaction seems to imply that Erica will become a villain like her mother. I wouldn't be surprised if Brad had originally intended to explore that but then lost interest and forgot about it (like he does with so many of his new characters). Also it doesn't make sense that Erica is just allowed to walk away from this. She may not have known what her mother was doing at first but she DID know that Sheila had kidnapped Amber and that automatically makes her an accomplice. Erica should be charged alongside Sheila (as Stephanie said when she found Amber).
It not because of Amber. Sheila did this. Also, Amber tells Taylor to go home to her children. But Taylor was the one who choice to go to Eric. It not Amber fault.
This was the last time we saw Erica.. I don’t get why they didn’t bring James for just one reunion scene or at the very least, do a scene where Erica talks to Stephanie about getting in touch with James, sure we can assume they met but it should have been acknowledged
Visiting Sheila in jail was the last time we ever saw Erica. She must be really ashamed of what she's done to Rick and Amber, and of what she is because of her mother. But as Mary, I wouldn't give up hope for her yet. She can still go her father, if she finds him. James Warwick may be Erica's only chance of seeking help, redemption and a new life she can build for herself. I just hope it's not too late for James to love her and accept her as a daughter after all these years. When we are parents one day, it is up to us to keep a child off an estranged life, and help him or her choose the right path.
@@orifeldman3213they mentioned Erica/Mary during Sheila's 2017 return! James comes back briefly when Sheila is pretending to be injured after her first fight with Quinn to assess her. Turns out Mary and James became close, but Sheila also managed to reconnect with her between 2006 and 2017 (when the character was "dead" but *actually* in prison per that story's retcon). James got addicted to pills and was writing his own prescriptions, Mary found out and confided in Sheila, who then blackmailed James into going along with her fake injury. He presumably told Mary, because when Sheila came back again in 2021 she said "none of her other children wanted anything to do with her"
So these women just go along with their mother's scheme to get the love of their life, and when the plan fails they have a grudge towards their mom? Amber and Erica could have stopped their mothers in time. It takes two to tango.
Erica had a lot to digest - from her mother's past, to who her real father is and her real names, not to mention what came afterwards. I don't think she could imagine all Sheila's done or expected her to shoot 2 people
@@Esi-741I get that in a show like this, a main character can’t stay married to the same character forever, but the fact that Tridge were kept married for 4 years , the longest at that point (maybe to this day Idk) and were still interesting, AND that the writers actually preferred to kill Taylor off than have Tridge broken up, shows just how much of big love story it was
