    Well done. Looks like it is a good one. The adjustable strap to the release is the best way to go. I have used a Carter Quickie plus for years. It’s more trouble changing tension as u have to change internal springs and it’s really a laborious trial and error method. The two tension screws on your release there are awesome.

      Thank you!
      The S2 has more adjustments than any other index release I have tested to date and as you said, they made it super easy to get it dialed in.
      Highly recommend it for anyone looking to upgrade in 2023.

    Would you choose the s2 over the solex? What would you say is the highest quality index release on the market?

    • @MichiganAmBushOutdoors
      @MichiganAmBushOutdoors  2 місяці тому

      Yes. I like the S2 more than the Solex because it has more adjustability. However, the Solex is still a solid option.
      If I were to buy a new index, it would be the S2. The Carter Like Mike is another solid option.

    I recently picked up a Stan Execute II. Fully adjustable. The hook opens opposite of all the other releases. I’ve been getting used to it with the intention of it being a backup release. I’ve have been using the Carter Wise Choice and have become to like it more than any release ever. I have it set on par with my Total Control hinge. I am looking to find a used Stan Solex trigger just for giggles. It’s is fully adjustable too.

      The wise choice has always been one of my favorite thumb button releases. It fits my hand perfectly, and I love the simplicity of it.
      I tried the Solex, and it's a good index release, but recently I have had some issues with Stans releases, and their quality control isn't what it used to be.

    Thank you for the review. I understand that this release uses a rubber band to reset the hook. Do you see that bei g a potential issue?

      You stumped me, so I contacted Scott Archery and confirmed that this release utilizes a spring to get the hook in the ready position and not a rubber band.
      I hope that helps.

      @MichiganAmBushOutdoors Ok, Lancaster Archery had a spot light on it and they said it had a rubber band in it. I thought that was crazy. Maybe I misunderstood.

      I know some of their hinges use a rubber band to return the hook.

    What type of release would you recommend to a newbie? Also a recommendation of a model. This is for hunting applications. Thanks

      I'm a huge fan of the Carter wise choice, but I tried a few before I found one that works perfectly.

      @@MichiganAmBushOutdoors Thanks for the recommendation. Would you start with a thumb over an index for a persons first release?

    • @MichiganAmBushOutdoors
      @MichiganAmBushOutdoors  Рік тому +1

      No problem.
      I would recommend trying both and going with what feels natural. My wife picked up a bow for the first time last summer, and I gave her and index and a thumb button and asked her what felt better, and she went with the TB.
      If you go with a TB, I would recommend adding a wrist strap or wrist lanyard until you get used to holding the weight of your bow in your fingers, and then you can use it or not.

      @@MichiganAmBushOutdoors I was considering it as an upgrade for my Stan Xtinction 2 but can't see the reason after hearing it. The Xtinction 2 is totally quiet, 1.5 sear, zero overtravel and can be set to hair trigger tension. It's been my most accurate and repeatable index release since it's introduction 3 years ago.

      It's a nice release and think it's worth trying but it. I was surprised by the sound.

      @@MichiganAmBushOutdoors I may still try it.. I use hinges and thumbs on a regular basis but prefer an index for hunting because I anchor an index differently. My shots on animals are 90% under 40 yards and I'd just rather use a index in that situation where I might need to hook on and shoot fast. The Stan's been the best I've tried so far but checking out these new ones for '23. The S2 is getting fantastic reviews.

    New to archery and bought this release. It is a piece of junk. After aq couple of hundred arrows the hook wouldn,t lock making it impossible to use my bow. It started working again but there is movement in the hook plus premature releases which caused me to lose arrows and punch myself in the face. Paid a lot of money for this piece of junk. Dont be silly like me and buy one. Surely there are better releases out there.

      Thats unfortunate. This was a great release for me, and I didn't experience any issues. Did you contact Scott? Their customer service department should have taken care of you.
