7:58 Woah, how brave you r lol! But the danger is definitely worth it for the experience in Ha Giang. I believe you've had an amazing time here, especially on the motorbike with the winding roads and the magnificent scenery of this place.

Hay. Like. Google: The road was built by 1,300 young volunteers and more than 1,000 citizens of 16 ethnic groups to help the mountainous region keep pace with the lowlands. Started on March 29, 1959, the road was finally completed on June 15, 1965 after 6 years of painstakingly chiseled without the support of machines.
Did this a few months ago with Jasmine, amazing trip! Another plus point with being in a group is the leader can often help communicate and negotiate if you get stopped at any police checkpoint which happened to me on the second day, ended up getting let off! 100% wanna return and do it in a smaller group in the future
After just coming back home from completing the Ha Giang Loop then it brought back so many memories, Such a nice video! Makes me wanna go and do it again! ❤
An amazing video Joel. It’s got to be the best you’ve ever done. Incredible scenery and it made us gasp more than once. So beautifully shot. Definitely the best video of the Loop that we’ve seen. Brilliant.🥇👍
So nice to see this ha giang experience! Ive been there in 2017. And we actually crossed the border with china untill we saw some deadskull signs. And thought its better to go back. Ha Giang is still one of the best things i ever did.
Just want to say thank you for the video - I’ve just subscribed as a result. My daughter and her friend are on their second week of a two month adventure in Asia and are doing this trip (in a group thankfully!) in less than two weeks time and it’s been great seeing some of the things they will see. You’re obviously very experienced with the bikes, my daughter isn’t! Which is why I’m reassured that they’re going the easy rider route! It looks incredible. Maybe when I retire! Thanks again.
Glad to hear it! Yes, easy rider should definitely be the first option for anyone who doesn't have much experience on a bike! They'll have a great time the Ha Giang Loop is incredible!
This is unreal! Booked a backpacking trip to SE Asia at the start of the year, with the Ha Giang Loop being a must! So excited and beyond grateful for the vid. You know I clicked on this one fast 🫡
Aargghhh! You're not driving, you're riding! Haha, tis' all good though, just discovered your channel and really enjoying your vlogs. Respect from a 50 something year old biker from Sussex.
Only started following you this evening after seeing your & Amelia's Thailand video and this is yet another brilliant one especially as I'm a biker, you've really sold the Ha Giang Loop to me! 🤗 Would rent a bike and do it on my own though 👍🏼
Very cool video and you are both lovely. Love all the 'scary stuff about China' and good on you getting to that odd fence which is not an official border crossing at all and you referensce the cameras you could see. What you don't reference are those you could not but they could see you! And they don't care. But you do need a visa to go to one of the greatest countries in the world together with Vietnam - China. If you crossed though they would not be impressed if not very unimpressed but the story would be told for generations... I like that you imagine you were not being watched except from the one camera. Great video! Well done! J
Hi Joel, a bit confused as to how pwople do this on a standard UK driving licence? Does everyone just risk it with no Insurance cover/not the correct Licence? Surely not everyone that does it has a UK bike licence?
I did this loop 2 years ago with no bike license/insurance. I was never stopped though.. Im from the US and currently getting my bike license so I'm more prepared for other bike trips...
What advice or how do you do it with your camera and gear when your are not filming? Is it generally safe to just leave it in the room? Or do you have any tips and precautions to keeping your camera gear safe when not using it (like if you went out for dinner/drinks) thanks and really enjoyed your video.
Hi mate great video me and the Mrs are thinking about doing this next year but how's it possible with 2 heavy rucksacks each and 2 day rucksacks each on 1 bike? Thanks
Hi Joel, one questiton did you had any problems with your drone during your time in Vietnam. Did you need to register it or take any other specific steps before bringing it there? Are there some specific laws for using a drone there? Cheers
I have an international driving licence with a smaller engine motorbike licence which is enough for the police to let you through but there ways around this talk to your bike rental company!
Not really, off season in SE Asia often means its rainy season. Shoulder season is a good time to go, but we tend to stick to dry season in most places
Joe, I think it would be better for you to point the camera at the scenery than yourself as a lot of the video, you're saying how awesome it is but then we only see your face! LOL! I understand the weather was a bit overcast/foggy so we won't get as much of the beautiful scenery, but I think vloggers whom point the camera at themselves in scenic locations ruins it as the viewers wanna see the scenes (we already know what you look like :)).
Hi Joel, since you mentioned trying to stay ahead of the crowds on the loop: would you say that going counter clockwise (I heard that most tours are going clockwise) on the loop would help with that? Or are there any reasons why clockwise is the better choice? Thanks!
Which month of the year you guys were travel the loop...? you freeze all time...haha I was once there in September and the tempretures were amazing warm...
I'm hoping to cycle the ha giang loop with my partner (not on a tour). We will take a tent in case we can't find places to stay en route, but just wondering if you think we would be okay finding food places on the route? And hoping to not spend every night in the tent, do you think there will be availability if we rock up?
We didn’t prebook any accommodation on the route, there are fairly frequent towns throughout the loop which have basic hotels you can stay at. I honestly don’t think you’ll need to camp at all!
Did you have a chance to check out Moc Chau, Mu Cang Chai, Hoang Su Phi, Pu Luong, Phong Nha, Hue citadel, Hoi An and the Mekong? They are spectacularly beautiful.
My question for you is, when I finish my ride from Ha Giang, ending around Meo Vac, can I leave the bike at that town or do I need to ride all the way back through the loop to where I initially rented my motorbike to return it?? 😱😂
@@Joelfriend sorry I should’ve waited a big longer in your vlog .. but you got me so so indulged.. many thanks for reply .. keep these commingggggg ✌️🙏🙏❤️
