I'm from the south of Vietnam, and last month I went to Ha Giang, it was the best trip I've ever taken after 38 years on this planet. I did not record much during my trip, cause I wanted to see everything with my own eyes, don't want to miss anything. Still remember the awesome feeling riding on Ma Pi Leng. I'll be back to Ha Giang, pretty sure more than once. Enjoy your time in Vietnam

Wow, you really did find some beautiful scenery there! The aerial of that one winding/zigzagging road was incredible and there were some gorgeous sceneries throughout (loved seeing all the mountains in the background as you were talking near the end). That's the smallest I've seen the waterfall - guess you were unlucky as all the other videos showed huge falls.

If you want to see more water at Ban Gioc waterfall , you have to be there from 11h00 AM to 14h00 when they open the lock of the up-streamed dam .

Drove around Vietnam for 3 months 10 years ago.. the most beautiful spots aren't on the tourist trail. They keep the best .
You are seriously right driving off the tourist track there is so much to see and probably better scenery see there

oh i just realised you can't fly drone at Ban Gioc. That's too bad.
What do you do with your luggage during this loop? Did you store your large backpack back in Ha Giang at a hostel and then just take a smaller day pack with you?
How long did you take in total? I fly to Hanoi on the morning of the 21st and leave to Phuket on the morning of the 30th.
